You can run but you can’t hide

A good name is worth more than silver or Gold, and a tarnished one is worthless, but also very painful; generally.. Public exposure and prosecution of the guilty serves everyone’s best interest. I too had learned decades ago that the pen is mightier than the sword of the crooks, bullies, pretenders, imposters. Starting at the top is always the best way now too   http://mediamyopic.com/2008/12/16/foreclosure-facebook-style/

Hey I admit it I hate crooks, the bad guys

– I dislike the bad cops and Bad RCMP in Canada
– I dislike all bad Professionals, bad civil and public servants and their too often poor managers now too
– I really dislike Bad Politicians, especially ex PM Paul Martin, Stephen Harper
– I dislike rightfully bad Pastors, and all alcoholics now too
– I have always disliked bad, crooked computer dealers too..
– I really also dislike Bell Canada rightfully as well and the CRTC..

We in Canada also  still do need real accountability, and the real beefing up of the enforcements, regulations against the much too many con artists liars, thieves, crooks, imposters, pretenders. being basically motivated by greed, increasing the profits. Bait and switch,  Misleading advertising, Unfair and Restrictive business trade practices seem to be a common thing in the Internet Service Providers  industry too, especially since generally the ISP are unregulated both by the Courts and the governments. It is a sad reality that even what is advertised is also next what the customer next consistently gets. “  The first biggest unacceptable bad culprits still who need to be fired ASAP are those rather toothless, pretentious, federal and provincial consumer Ministers and their mostly bad subordinates. Healthy Competition was supposedly a good way to decrease  the prices and increase the services, but instead we get price fixings, unfair and restrictive trade practices.. which still all reminds me of the bad immoral Conservative Prime Minister Stephen Harper trying to murder all of the opposition  out of existence too.. for he himself is no better as a leader, example of ethics, morality too. We do need still  a new real,  tougher cop on the beat. to strengthen all business, financial regulatory agencies and crack down on runaway “greed and scheming” , to really clean up the worlds of politics , finance, business and really  help to put in help put in place new, common-sense rules of the road that will protect investors, consumers and our entire economy from fraud and manipulation by an irresponsible few caused also by a  lack of “adult supervision” and  managers not being    as aggressive as they should in properly managing subordinates, others. Conservative  and Liberal governments administration’s laissez-faire philosophy is also  allowing excessive risk and corruption at the highest echelons and also by too many people with a false disdain for regulation. We need more activist regulatory approaches,  no-nonsense regulators. Too many of these crooks are still governed by a mentality governed by the principle that, “whatever is good for me, I do.”  Behave Honourable or you will be fired, terminated message  needs to be to apply to a range of social, physical, financial, governmental  institutions — and to individuals across right across the board. A real  restoration of a sense of responsibility, personal accountability  and the notions of  advocating beneficial values not just for ourselves, but what’s good for the others, the country as a whole, operating in reality out of a sense of what is being done is for the common good , Our too often poor Regulators do unacceptably “drop the ball,” and have failed to crack down on the bad culture of greed and scheming, to take seriously their own responsibility to “operate honourably.  The CRTC also itself has not put much of a dent in fraud, abuses,  and the entire system needs an overhaul. The CRTC also has missed too many red flags in its oversight of it’s duties, responsibilities..

“You can run but you can’t hide. This week a court in Australia ruled that social networking sites are an adequate medium for mortgage lenders to notify borrowers that they’re losing their homes. Barry Schnitt, a Facebook spokesperson, reportedly told news outlets that, “we’re pleased to see the Australian court validate Facebook as a reliable, secure and private medium for communication.” Schnitt may want to re-think his enthusiasm, as people are already crying Big Brother. But social networking users are rather naive to have ever thought these sites would serve strictly social purposes. First came the advertisers, then media began citing the pages as legit sources, employers followed suit, and now colleges are evaluating personal profiles in the admissions process. Once we disclose personal information in a public realm, albeit a virtual one, the public has little recourse in claiming rights to privacy.”

How did the now Alberta redneck now get it so wrong,

“I knew would happen, after the corrupt and scandal-plagued Conservatives failed to get a majority because Quebecers were too smart to fall for Harper’s vote-buying bribes and negative advertising, the embittered cynics trot out the letters bashing Quebecers as selfish separatists. In a letter about the interprovincial bridge proposal, David Hooper whined that “the majority of voters in the riding of Gatineau” supported the Bloc Québécois. That’s odd, considering Bloc MP Richard Nadeau received just 29 per cent of the vote. By no measure is this a majority – in fact, more than 70 per cent (a majority) of Gatineau voters supported federalist parties.Besides, voter turnout in Quebec was 61 per cent, and only 29 per cent of Gatineau voters chose the Bloc. That equals less than 18 per cent of the voting population. Let’s use some common sense here. Just because the election might not have gone the way Mr. Hooper and Mr. Clark wanted is no excuse for Quebec-bashing.”Mark Johnson,Nepean

http://www.canada.com/ottawacitizen/news/letters/story.html?id=f4127e33-5e4f-4225-a2e3-d68bdfd3e36b

It is historical fact, reinforced again this week, that Quebeckers have always voted for a party led by a Quebecker when confronted with a choice between such a party and one led by someone from outside the province. https://anyonecare.wordpress.com/2008/10/15/canada-harper-failed-again-in-an-attempt-to-win-majority-government/

“The Bloc got another break when Stephen Harper made a statement pushing for teens who commit serious crimes to serve jail sentences in adult prisons. Mr. Duceppe slammed the Prime Minister for delivering “fresh meat” to prison pedophiles and sending young criminals to “the university of crime.”” http://www.nationalpost.com/news/canada/election-2008/story.html?id=882332

Now really How can a now Alberta, redneck that was personally now even raised in Montreal, Quebec,  now get it so wrong, did he accidently offend the people of Quebec or did he do so knowingly because he not care if it did cause he was trying to please so hard his hypocritical, Conservative rednecks of Alberta, who do emphasize now wrongfully now the letter of   the law over the  spirit of the law.. for now when there is an increase of  problem children, juvenile delinquents,  it is the parents firstly who have to take the majority of the blame and not the children. Surely the self professing Christian evangelical, Alliance church,  Conservative Prime Minister Stephen Harper knows this from his own personal Bible readings? (Prov  22:6 KJV)  Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

or is still just a pretender Christian now too not just a pretender poltician?

and the answer is?

In reality Genuine Born Again, Evangelical, Christians are total abstainers from smoking, drugs, alcohol, cheating, lying, stealing, tax evasions, pornography, or rather all personal vices, Impairments, gay sex now too.  But still not Barrack Obama or Stephen Harper and why?

Clearly ** The Bible teaches against drinking alcoholic beverages.

The liars and the demons  of course will say other wise.

Following my post about Obama the alcoholic drunk?  last Friday , even Obama the cigar smoker, a  past  drug user too, next  since Friday Obama went down 5 percent in the polls and low leads by 3% only  and McCain next strengthened his support with the Christians.. but CNN also next responded by proving that Sarah Palin’s daughter was also an unacceptable alcoholic next , and CNN made no comment about Obama’s drunkenness orgies…

Many conservative pundits today are trying desperately to warn their fellow Americans that Barack Obama has been linked to various far-left organizations, but it still is in reality it is really unfair to the Bible, Christianity, to try to link all socialists as communists, unbiblical. For unlike most evangelicals these days and their churches denominations who wrongfully do not care about any of the others, only themselves it seems,  Jesus, the Apostles, Apostle James included, and deacons care about both the good physical and spiritual welfare of the flock, of all persons, the poor and needy, the sick   persons too.. they were Both conservatives and liberal- socialist sas well.. not  basically Republicans. Judas was clearly the sole  Republican..

(Rev 3:19 KJV)  As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.

(1 Cor 5:11 KJV)  But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.  12   For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within? 13  But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.

Canada’s Prime Minister Stephen Harper who clearly really does not care about the good welfare of all the citizens of Canada next got his redneck conservative supporters distortions of why he had lost the 2008 federal election and , did not get a majority, need to see that Hamper is the one step forward, two steps backward loser rather and not falsely blame Quebec for  any of this

A blatant false  tax on the motorist – Speeding tickets.. http://thenonconformer.wordpress.com/2008/09/16/call-it-what-you-want-but-it-is-not-about-safety/

for the Majority of cars are safer and  can take higher speeds safely over a deacde ago

HEY I even ONCE HAD WRITTEN A LONG TIME AGO THAT THE TOO OFTEN SELF CENTERED, PROUD PEOPLE OF ALBERTA DO REALLY NEED TO STOP BASHING THE POOR PEOPLE, AND THOSE ON SOCIAL AID, FOR A DAY WILL COME THAT THEY TOO WILL BE NEEDING SOCIAL AID AND THAT DAY HAS COME.. http://thenonconformer.wordpress.com/2010/01/23/alberta-today-is-broke/

I now live all the way  in the Quebec  but lately I have often seen searches done on my site about what can a person  do about bad cops and their false speeding, revenue generating tickets in Edmonton, and in Alberta.. what??   write to the politicians and news editors firstly, tell them why it is perverse for  decades now in Alberta this has been a false police empire build scheme, police job preservation program..

15 YEARS IN ALBERTA AND I GOT LOADS OF CALGARY SPEEDING TICKETS, 3 IN A ROW FROM THE SAME COP, TWICE IN CANMORE ON THE SAME SPOT TOO, AND NEXT 15 YEARS IN QUEBEC I GOT NO TICKETS AT ALL. Why the difference?.. politcal bosses are different. Conservative vs Liberal.

More crap from the Alberta Police too.. Since January 2O08, RCMP and provincial sheriffs have issued more than 2,000 speeding tickets to people driving on Highway 63, including 363 tickets over the weekend. Political and labour leaders have been lobbying the Alberta government for years to twin the highway between Edmonton and the Fort McMurray area. While some work is underway, most of the money is being spent on highway work north of the oilsands capital. Bellows said the entire highway would be safe if motorists just obeyed the speed limit. “We are frustrated,” he said. “Just slow down and relax. You will get there safe.”  Meanwhile, leadfoot drivers are also a problem on highways through Banff National Park.  RCMP report that officers issued 115 speeding tickets over the weekend between Lake Louise and the Jasper National Park Boundary. In some cases drivers along Highway 93 were clocked going more than 60 km over the posted speed limit. ( Revenue generating ) Speed limits in the mountain parks are set with an eye toward preventing collisions with wildlife. ( and how often does that occur?) RCMP in the Peace River area said even when police warn motorists about speed traps some drivers continue to drive faster than the posted limit. ..

RCMP like to give speed tickets when you are leaving the park, not entering it too.. and I got 2 speeding tickets on the same spot in Canmore ten years apart too… and the second time I went to court and rightfully fought the dirty RCMP too.

In reality the too often self serving, money hungry, promotional and empire oriented police, and their superiors, bad justice ministers, bad politicians  really do not care about the citizens good welfare but only their own..

Honking, fist-shaking, screaming, obnoxious drivers: the symptoms of road rage.    Insurance Corporation of British Columbia  Psychologist John Vavrik, who studies driving behaviour for ICBC, says road rage can be better understood as “aggressive driving spectrum disorder.” According to Vavrik, road rage can take many forms.  “There’s not a clean definition of it. It’s basically an aggressive act aimed at hurting somebody or sending a message to somebody,” Vavrik said.  “The people most at risk of engaging in these behaviours are the least likely to control their behaviour,” he said. “They have low emotional intelligence. They don’t have the tools or skills or strategy to manage their emotions.  “In those extreme cases, we’re talking about sociopathic issues. The driver’s a walking time bomb.”  According to Vavrik, “road-ragers” are generally underachievers, individuals who lack assertiveness and control, and do not have the status in life they desire.  He said the “depersonalized space” of a vehicle is a trigger to road rage, as is an unexpected traffic delay, such as that caused by a slow driver, or being stuck behind an idle bus.
 http://www.timescolonist.com/Road+ragers+generally+underachievers+psychologist/1443637/story.html

UK  ” official statistics showed that only five per cent of crashes are caused by drivers breaking the speed limit. Drivers who let their attention wander cause more than six times as many accidents.” Driver error accounted for 66 per cent of accidents.. and add the road rage, impaired, drunk drivers, bad poorly maintained vehicles to that too .. Most reasonable and reasoning people have seen the folly of speed cameras for decades now too.

Now I have said it for over 3 decades in wrting to all too so Call it what you want but it is not about public safety, for it is  a self employment, empire  building, false money grab, revenue generation, hidden taxes.. for if  the cops, the mad RCMP  were now really worried about public safety THEY WOULD FIRSTLY ARREST THEIR OWN KIND, THE BAD COPS WHO OFTEN DRIVE HOME DRUNK AFTER WORK, COMING HOME FROM THE POLICE TAVERN, and they would ALSO go after the people who drive reckless, fail to stop at the stop signs, traffic stop lights, and the impaired drunken drivers, the unsafe cars whose brakes are squealing cause they need to be repaired.. etc.,,

Conservative controlled Swindon Council has decided that it will no longer make it’s contribution towards the cost of speed cameras in Wiltshire, preferring instead to plough it’s £400,000 into real road safety measures. An Australian study estimates that about half of all traffic accidents in Australia may be due to road rage and most of the others related to alcohol, impaired driving and yet the police falsely tend to pursue revenue generating speeding traffic tickets still and why?

” A blatant tax on the motorist” said Cllr. Peter Greenhalgh, in charge of highways, transport and strategic planning in the town, he added

“Isn’t it better to have a road that is designed to be safe from the start, rather than sticking a camera there to catch people who may or may not be driving dangerously? We treat road safety very, very seriously but we pay about £400,000 a year to the road safety partnership – money which goes straight into the Government’s pockets.

Almost half of motorists do not think speed cameras improve road safety according to new survey results from whatcar.com.

For fatal accidents the most frequently reported contributory factor was loss of control, which was involved in 35 per cent of road deaths. Failure to look properly was the most frequently reported contributory factor and was involved in 32 per cent of all injury accidents. Five of the six most frequently reported contributory factors were some kind of driver or rider error or reaction.

How many cops in Alberta are arrested annually for drunk driving coming home after work from being at the Police Tavern too.

The money hungry Conservatives in Alberta, the Calgary and the Edmonton Police forces  and the Liberals in Ontario they can all learn from this

A study of the figures in the British Medical Journal showed a  gap between police and hospital data  showed a wide divergence in these figures   said one of the authors of the article, Mike Gill, professor of public health at Surrey University. The Police are known  to lie, and  they try to please their political bosses , to get a raise by generating revenue from traffic tickets.

The survey of the Canadian vital statistics database, made up of information from death certificates, shows that 97,964 people were killed in motor vehicle accidents during the past quarter-century. However, the annual number of deaths dropped 52 per cent to 2,875 in 2004 from 5,933 in 1979.

Nearly three-quarters of those killed in these accidents were male, and motorists at either end of the age spectrum had higher-than-average death rates.

Pedestrians accounted for 12 per cent of motor vehicle deaths, followed by motorcyclists and drivers of all-terrain and other off-road vehicles.

Elderly pedestrians were also found to be more than three times likelier than the general population to be killed in motor vehicle accidents. The study does not explain why.

Rural roads proved particularly treacherous for drivers. Sixty-two per cent of fatal collisions in 2004 took place in rural areas.

Yukon had the highest death rate at 16.4 deaths per 100,000 people. Newfoundland and Labrador and Ontario were the only two provinces and territories reporting a death rate lower than the national average of nine for every 100,000 people.

The study notes that while death rates have fallen, the ubiquitous use of cell phones and BlackBerrys while driving pose a danger to drivers.

Now we know that more people have accident due to road rage, impaired driving, driving under the influence of drugs, alcohol  over speeding too and we still do need to review how much time and resources do the police deal with that firstly? ”

Road rage is a relatively serious act; it can  be seen as a violation of human and property rights , an endangerment of  other’s personal well being, security.    Road rage is easy to convict, merely get a video camera and record the driving.. a video camera have been used successfuly on bad cops, like the RCMP.

Note this important  brief introduction to road safety .. Yes  you always do have to drive safely, in control, not impaired as well and yes there are many, many different factors that now can cause a vehicular, automotive  accident, including but not limited to the actual daily road conditions, even the type of tires you have .. for  it is a fact that good tires lead to a safer drive, and so does a 4 wheel drive.  Next when you start to first drive at any day do first immediately test the road condition by coming to a planned sudden stop , and see firsthand how your car reacts accordingly.. then next do use this experience to set how you will drive the rest of the day too. And no matter what car, or tires you have, or who is the driver, if you do hit a patch of black ice, due clearly to the failure of others, such as the Governments, municipalities,  to apply salt and gravel on the icy / snowy  road, to falsely try to save money here,  it can be very, very hazardous now too. Give them a fine, ticket, they firstly do deserve it too.

Now hypothetical if you do not drive at all you are less likely   to have an   accident, assuming another driver does not hit you while walking..

Hey look at all those prosecuting municipal lawyers, cops who are claiming to be serving the public and now we get a good example of how really corrupt they themselves firstly are now.. http://thenonconformer.wordpress.com/2009/05/23/3-of-canadas-top-news-stories-relating-to-the-court-justice/

Alberta’s rising jobless claims fuelled by young workers, men

CBC.ca –  Alberta has been particularly hard-hit by recession-fed job losses, with young people and unemployed men claiming federal Employment Insurance benefits in near record numbers, Statistics Canada said Tuesday.

EI benefits soar to record level in May Ottawa Citizen

Some Ostrich cop lovers like to remain in the dark as to how bad the cops now really are too.. well many more see the truth about the cops..

Too many COPS, persons distort  the LAW. it’s meaning still too. Unacceptable.

The specific  Laws are created for a reason and given a certain set of conditions and circumstances.  When the circumstances or situation are not present then the law is basically not applicable. (2 Cor 3:6 KJV)   for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.

WE ARE NOT TO WALK  “Not of works, lest any man should boast.”  Ephesians 5:9

Jude 18-19 “”How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts. These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.”

Here is what I know for sure in Canada proper policing, management ,  supervision  human rights commissions are a real fact of life, society, in schools, life,  in churches, governments, commerce, institutions, civil and public services, professional services too,  and elsewhere, even on the net,  for you will always have those 30 percent at least of the persons who will try to cheat, lie  , steal, bend the rules, falsely believe they are above the laws, Self  regulation alone is too often pretentious, farcical, often not applied as well. That applies especially to the professionals, civil and public services, police, municipalities, politicians now as well..

These cop lovers must have  been living in the dark ages still too even  in Alberta?  while thousands of persons do demand the rightful dismantling  of the RCMP even..  look here  here is what the news media says about the RCMP today.. No one can deny the many bad experiences people do have with the RCMP, Alberta cops..  I too now have dozens of posts about the bad RCMP read often by others too.. I have been rightfully helping the federal and provincial legislators to cut the bad police budgets for decades now too.

The B.C. government’s partnership with the RCMP has taken another hit with the revelation that an investigator of the gang killing of six people in Surrey has been reassigned because of his relationship with a witness in the case. Public Safety Minister Kash Heed said Wednesday he learned about the internal investigation of the unidentified RCMP officer from media reports Tuesday, and he was “not happy” about either the news or the timing. “This is an issue that has been brewing for over a month, and I was not informed of it,” Heed said. “If in fact those allegations are proven, it’s completely unacceptable as far as I’m concerned.” The RCMP investigator was part of the team assigned to the murder of six people in a high-rise apartment in Surrey on Oct. 19, 2007. After reports he had been restricted to desk duties while an internal probe is conducted, the RCMP issued a statement that said the witness in question has not provided evidence used in charges related to the Surrey killings. Heed said he found both the investigation and the lack of notification “disturbing” and “troubling” as the B.C. government begins formal negotiations to extend its policing contract with the RCMP when it expires in 2012. The B.C. government has moved to toughen civilian oversight of city police forces, but the RCMP continues to police most of the province through municipal contracts and it has its own federal public complaint and oversight procedures. Heed said B.C. is taking the lead among provinces in negotiating a new police services contract with the RCMP, because the majority of Canada’s RCMP officers now work in B.C. Asked if he is now considering setting up a provincial force as Ontario and Quebec have, he said he remains confident an acceptable deal can be reached with the RCMP. “Our government’s goal is to have the most accountable, effective and transparent police service for all of British Columbia, regardless of the colour of the uniform,” Heed said.”

Surrey 6 allegation lowers RCMP morale  CBC.ca  RCMP in Metro Vancouver acknowledge staff morale has suffered following the revelation a senior investigator on the notorious Surrey Six homicide investigation is himself under investigation. The officer, a member of the regional homicide investigation team, was assigned to desk duty after an allegation came to light in December that he was carrying on an inappropriate relationship with a potential witness in the case.- The RCMP have been under fire in BC in recent years after incidents involving the use of stun guns, deaths in custody, and drinking and driving.

“A senior British Columbia Mountie says the province’s solicitor general should have been told about allegations that an investigator in the Surrey Six case had an inappropriate relationship with a witness, but cannot explain why the information was not passed on to the cabinet member in charge of policing.“He should have been informed. I can’t say why that wasn’t done,” Chief Superintendent Janice Armstrong said , noting allegations of the relationship involving a member of the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) were first raised in early December 2009Mike Farnworh, the NDP critic for the solicitor general, said he found it odd that Mr. Heed was not brought into the loop on the situation.“I would think he would have been made aware that this was taking place,” said Mr. Farnworth. The failure to do so, he said, “probably says a lot about the government. They have been out of touch and out of the loop on a lot of issues.” http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/national/british-columbia/bc-solicitor-general-left-in-the-dark-about-surrey-six-scandal/article1446399/

What should not come as a surprise to anyone in Canada is how many of the cops still do  drink and drive drunk next still.. RCMP included, and why so many cops do not prosecute any other drunk drivers even all year.. and what else in the unacceptable perversties?

Decades and decades later the police are still  covering up for their own again and again but the police are not the only bad professionals who do this these days as well, so do the Hospitals, doctors, nurses, civil and public servants, governments…

He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet. Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.
PSALM 91

The secret place is not a cave, physical fortress, or city of refuge somewhere that the Lord has set apart for us as some caring ruler may dedicate for that purpose. It is not even His palace but the secret place is none other than His Own Presence. He God, Jesus Christ, Himself is my refuge and fortress!

even Canadian employees fired for inappropriate blogging

“Canadian employees fired for inappropriate blogging

September 2nd, 2008  by Karen Sargeant

We have all read a lot about employers monitoring employees’ computer use and whether employees can be fired for inappropriate computer use at work. What about inappropriate computer use at home? Can employees in Canada be fired for that? Two recent decisions say yes.

In both cases, one from Alberta and one from Ontario, employees were fired for blogging about their workplaces. Although the blogs were the employees’ personal blogs, the content in the blogs justified their terminations for cause.

The most recent case (Alberta Union of Provincial Employees v. Alberta) involved an administrative employee in the Alberta Public Service. Because of the nature of the material in the employee’s blog, the arbitration board hearing the employee’s grievance did not name the employee. So we’ll just refer to the blogger as the Grievor.

The Grievor started her blog when her therapist suggested that she write things down as a way to vent anger and helplessness following her father’s death. The Grievor’s three blog posts identified her by name, indicated that she lived in Edmonton, and that she worked for the Alberta provincial government. Interspersed with personal, nonwork postings were blog postings about the Grievor’s workplace, her supervisors, and coworkers.

In one of her blog entries, “Aliens Around the Coffee Table,” the Grievor made comments about the people at work. She devoted a paragraph to six of her coworkers who regularly met for coffee in a specific location. While the Grievor used aliases, the individuals were all identifiable. About a menopausal coworker, the Grievor indicated that if she “had to choose a planet that she came from, I’d say it was some dark planet, with very little oxygen . . .” About a “polite and very well dressed” male coworker, the Grievor said “I’m gonna go out on a limb here and say he’s from a planet in our solar system – Uranus.” About a new employee, the Grievor said “she’s clearly from the planet – Liar, liar pants on fire.” After making comments about three other colleagues, the Grievor said, “to any of my coworkers who didn’t appear in this accounting, be warned your turn may be coming.”

Sometime later, the Grievor posted a blog entry in which she was critical of management. She referred to her workplace as a “lunatic asylum”, her supervisor as “Nurse Ratched,” and the management as “a world like mine with imbeciles and idiot savants  . . .  running the ship.” On another occasion, she referred to her supervisor as the “Power Hungry Wench in Charge.” She repeatedly posted confidential internal memoranda and criticized the contents of the memoranda.

When confronted about her blogging, the Grievor was unapologetic and defiant, demonstrating little awareness of the hurt she had caused others. She defended her freedom of expression, refused to remove the blog posts, and threatened more postings after she was told that she had been fired. This was quite different from the conduct of another employee who had participated in the blogging (who was not fired). That employee had individually apologized to each coworker she had written about.

The arbitration board decided that the province was justified in firing her for cause.  Although it indicated that the “Grievor has a right to create personal blogs and is entitled to her opinions about the people with whom she works,” the arbitration board said that “publicly displaying those opinions may have consequences within an employment relationship.” In the Grievor’s case, the board said that “in expressing contempt for her managers, ridiculing her coworkers and denigrating administrative processes, [the Grievor] engaged in serious misconduct that irreparably severed the employment relationship, justifying discharge.”

The content of the Grievor’s blog, the public nature of the blog, and the Grievor’s unapologetic and defiant behavior outweighed her clean work record, her issues following her father’s death, and her lack of intent to insult her coworkers.

The same result occurred in Chatham-Kent (Municipality) v. National Automobile, Aerospace, Transportation and General Workers Union of Canada (CAW-Canada), Local 127 in which an employee of a nursing home was fired for the contents of her blog.  Although much of the blog site was devoted to personal matters unrelated to work, some of the posted material was insubordinate to management, derogatory and abusive toward coworkers, demeaning and disrespectful of patients, and disclosed confidential information about patients, including a photograph.

Like the Alberta case, the employee’s clean service record, family-related difficulties, and apology did not outweigh the content of the blog. The arbitrator concluded that the municipality was justified in firing the employee for cause.

So whether your employees are using work computers or home computers, if they post information in the public domain that undermines the employment relationship beyond repair, you may be justified in firing them for cause.” http://www.hrheroblogs.com/northernexposure/

PS: and if you like it or not and if  legal or not when you post, say, write anything about someone else and they do not like what you do many people go after you by contacting your friends, relatives employer, associates, including the bad pastors, bad  political aides, bad  police for there is no such thing as free, un-oppressed  speech in reality.. as most reformers, whistle blowers find out too  but still public exposure and exemplary prosecution of the bad guys serves everyone’s best interest

Too many Bad Canadian politicians, including a Mayor, Premier, a Prime Minister  already had objected to my letters to news editors with copies to them, others and have wrongfully sent the police already 6 times to my home to try to obstruct justice, to hinder my right of free speech but I am still writing..
