Hearing the word of God more effectively is always possible too

1 Sam 3:10 And the LORD came, and stood, and called as at other times, Samuel, Samuel. Then Samuel answered, Speak; for thy servant heareth. 11 And the LORD said to Samuel, Behold, I will do a thing in Israel, at which both the ears of every one that heareth it shall tingle. 12 In that day I will perform against Eli all things which I have spoken concerning his house: when I begin, I will also make an end. 13 For I have told him that I will judge his house for ever for the iniquity which he knoweth; because his sons made themselves vile, and he restrained them not.14 And therefore I have sworn unto the house of Eli, that the iniquity of Eli’s house shall not be purged with sacrifice nor offering for ever

.
Yes we are all to listen to God, his voice, and his word.. But it starts with reading the Bible daily.. we can find desire and time for many other activities but not time to spend with God?
..
2 Cor 13:9  For we are glad, when we are weak, and ye are strong: and this also we wish, even your perfection.  10  Therefore I write these things being absent, lest being present I should use sharpness, according to the power which the Lord hath given me to edification, and not to destruction.11  Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you. 12  Greet one another with an holy kiss.
.

Many people say we should only read, hear God’s words in the Bible, even cause the rest of the time they are actually, falsely doing their own thing even… they really also cannot still hear God’s direct voice, even leading to them.

.

Some people seem amazed that God can, and will now speak to his children, given the proper conditions being met, but me I am often amazed how is it that so many people cannot hear God, as to what un-confessed, un-repented of sins are obstructing their relationship with him now.. http://postedat.wordpress.com/2009/01/21/god-speaks/

 .

Wrongfully the Evangelical Christian movements of today is a powerless gospel movement rather, for it still tends to have none of the rugged reality of the Word of God of the New Testament about them in reality. There is nothing about them that needs the personal application of death of Jesus Christ. The need of Dying to self now is rarely mentioned. All that is mostly required is a false religious walk, of a pious atmosphere, prayer, and devotion. This type of experience is no longer marked by the supernatural nor miraculous. This new age Christianity it did not avail itself yet of the cost of  the sufferings of God, nor is it stained with “the blood of the Lamb” (Rev 12:11 KJV)  And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.  The rather new  Evangelical Christian movements, or mostly religious empire building are also clearly marked by a dearth, the visible absence of the direct mention of the word of God itself, rather indirect  reference are only mostly still made to the Bible and verses, and the actual meat content is replaced by the mere words, views of mere men.   It is also wrongfully  not marked or sealed by the Holy Spirit as being a genuine personal work, and it is no wonder then it has no visual personal evidences, sign that causes people to exclaim with awe and wonder, “That is the work of God Almighty!” The New Testament in reality is still centered about the  awesome, continual work of God in individual’s life and in the Churches. So no wonder the Evangelical Christian movements of today so often does not have the empowerment to draw men to God, Jesus Christ.

.
The clear, definite. exemplary, undeniable  New Testament example of a valid personal Christian experience, life  is that of a personal, passionate commitment, devotion, following  to the Person of Jesus Christ marked by a loyalty to the word of God. Every other kind of the false Christian experience is wrongfully now detached from the Person of Jesus. Where there is no regeneration— no being personally born from above, born again into the kingdom in which Christ lives and reigns supreme through the word of God, the Bible. False Christian portrays Jesus Christ is being only  an optional pattern to follow. In the New Testament Jesus Christ is the Savior that lived  vividly and in reality long before He is the supposed mere  pattern. Christ  He is being falsely portrayed as the figurehead of a religious movement— another mere example. He is that, but He is infinitely more. He is still our personal salvation from hell itself; He is the living, embodied gospel of God!

.
Jesus said, “. . . when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, . . . He will glorify Me . . .” (John 16:13-14  ).

When I committed myself to accepting the revealed truth of the New Testament, I then had receive from God also the gifts of the Holy Spirit, who then begins also interpreting to me what Jesus  said, did and is. And next he Spirit of God, Of Jesus Christ himself  now lives also in me.

.

Many have heard the words of God directly

.

(1 Sam 9:27 KJV)  And as they were going down to the end of the city, Samuel said to Saul, Bid the servant pass on before us, (and he passed on,) but stand thou still a while, that I may show thee the word of God.

(1 Chr 17:3 KJV)  And it came to pass the same night, that the word of God came to Nathan, saying,

(Luke 3:2 KJV)   the word of God came unto John the son of Zacharias in the wilderness.

(Luke 5:1 KJV)  And it came to pass, that, as the people pressed upon him to hear the word of God,

(Luke 8:21 KJV)  And he answered and said unto them, My mother and my brethren are these which hear the word of God, and do it.

(Luke 11:28 KJV)  But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.

(Acts 4:31 KJV)  And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.

(Acts 6:2 KJV)  Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables.

(Acts 6:7 KJV)  And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.

(Acts 8:14 KJV)  Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John:

(Acts 11:1 KJV)  And the apostles and brethren that were in Judaea heard that the Gentiles had also received the word of God.

(Acts 12:24 KJV)  But the word of God grew and multiplied.

(Acts 13:5 KJV)  And when they were at Salamis, they preached the word of God in the synagogues of the Jews: and they had also John to their minister.

(Acts 13:7 KJV)  Which was with the deputy of the country, Sergius Paulus, a prudent man; who called for Barnabas and Saul, and desired to hear the word of God.

(Acts 13:44 KJV)  And the next sabbath day came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God.

(Acts 13:46 KJV)  Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles.

(Acts 17:13 KJV)  But when the Jews of Thessalonica had knowledge that the word of God was preached of Paul at Berea, they came thither also, and stirred up the people.

(Acts 18:11 KJV)  And he continued there a year and six months, teaching the word of God among them.

(Acts 19:20 KJV)  So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed.

(Rom 9:6 KJV)  Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel:

(Rom 10:17 KJV)  So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

(1 Cor 14:36 KJV)  What? came the word of God out from you? or came it unto you only?

(2 Cor 2:17 KJV)  For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.

(2 Cor 4:2 KJV)  But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.

(Eph 6:17 KJV)  And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

(Col 1:25 KJV)  Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God;

(1 Th 2:13 KJV)  For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.

(1 Tim 4:5 KJV)  For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.

(2 Tim 2:9 KJV)  Wherein I suffer trouble, as an evil doer, even unto bonds; but the word of God is not bound.

(Titus 2:5 KJV)  To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

(Heb 4:12 KJV)  For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

(Heb 11:3 KJV)  Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

(Heb 13:7 KJV)  Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation.

(1 Pet 1:23 KJV)  Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

(2 Pet 3:5 KJV)  For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:

(1 John 2:14 KJV)  I have written unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one.

(Rev 1:2 KJV)  Who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw.

(Rev 1:9 KJV)  I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.

(Rev 6:9 KJV)  And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:

(Rev 19:13 KJV)  And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

(Rev 20:4 KJV)  And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

Fret not

Psalm 37:1  A Psalm of David. Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.
2  For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.
3  Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.
4  Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
5  Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.
6  And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday.
7  Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.
8  Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.
9  For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth.
10  For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be.
11  But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.
12  The wicked plotteth against the just, and gnasheth upon him with his teeth.
13  The Lord shall laugh at him: for he seeth that his day is coming.
14  The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, and to slay such as be of upright conversation.
15  Their sword shall enter into their own heart, and their bows shall be broken.
16  A little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked.
17  For the arms of the wicked shall be broken: but the LORD upholdeth the righteous.
18  The LORD knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be for ever.
19  They shall not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.
20  But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the LORD shall be as the fat of lambs: they shall consume; into smoke shall they consume away.
21  The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again: but the righteous showeth mercy, and giveth.
22  For such as be blessed of him shall inherit the earth; and they that be cursed of him shall be cut off.
23  The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.
24  Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand.
25  I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.
26  He is ever merciful, and lendeth; and his seed is blessed.
27  Depart from evil, and do good; and dwell for evermore.
28  For the LORD loveth judgment, and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.
29  The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell therein for ever.
30  The mouth of the righteous speaketh wisdom, and his tongue talketh of judgment.
31  The law of his God is in his heart; none of his steps shall slide.
32  The wicked watcheth the righteous, and seeketh to slay him.
33  The LORD will not leave him in his hand, nor condemn him when he is judged.
34  Wait on the LORD, and keep his way, and he shall exalt thee to inherit the land: when the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see it.
35  I have seen the wicked in great power, and spreading himself like a green bay tree.
36  Yet he passed away, and, lo, he was not: yea, I sought him, but he could not be found.
37  Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace.
38  But the transgressors shall be destroyed together: the end of the wicked shall be cut off.
39  But the salvation of the righteous is of the LORD: he is their strength in the time of trouble.
40  And the LORD shall help them, and deliver them: he shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in him.

(Psa 37:29 KJV)  The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell therein for ever.

Negative consequences and Positive rewards are part of God’s personal management of others now too, Believe it or not! Mind you most of us, cause the devil readily whispers in our ears that this is a lie, tend to find out this truth is true  mostly the hard way, sadly. That includes the length of our life on earth. a topic often covered in the Bible now too,  for now I too have seem many really wicked, unrepentant  persons die an early, sudden, unexpected death. And I know that God provides extra life, healing to his faithful children as well.

(Gen 13:  KJV)  14  And the LORD said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward: 15  For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever. 16  And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then shall thy seed also be numbered. 17  Arise, walk through the land in the length of it and in the breadth of it; for I will give it unto thee.

(Deu 30:20 KJV)  That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.

(Job 12:  KJV)  9  Who knoweth not in all these that the hand of the LORD hath wrought this? 10  In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind. 11  Doth not the ear try words? and the mouth taste his meat? 12  With the ancient is wisdom; and in length of days understanding. 13  With him is wisdom and strength, he hath counsel and understanding. 14  Behold, he breaketh down, and it cannot be built again: he shutteth up a man, and there can be no opening. 15  Behold, he withholdeth the waters, and they dry up: also he sendeth them out, and they overturn the earth. 16  With him is strength and wisdom: the deceived and the deceiver are his. 17  He leadeth counsellors away spoiled, and maketh the judges fools. 18  He looseth the bond of kings, and girdeth their loins with a girdle. 19  He leadeth princes away spoiled, and overthroweth the mighty. 20  He removeth away the speech of the trusty, and taketh away the understanding of the aged. 21  He poureth contempt upon princes, and weakeneth the strength of the mighty.  22  He discovereth deep things out of darkness, and bringeth out to light the shadow of death. 23  He increaseth the nations, and destroyeth them: he enlargeth the nations, and straiteneth them again. 24  He taketh away the heart of the chief of the people of the earth, and causeth them to wander in a wilderness where there is no way. 25  They grope in the dark without light, and he maketh them to stagger like a drunken man.

(Psa 21:  KJV)  :1  To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. The king shall joy in thy strength, O LORD; and in thy salvation how greatly shall he rejoice! 2  Thou hast given him his heart’s desire, and hast not withholden the request of his lips. Selah. 3  For thou preventest him with the blessings of goodness: thou settest a crown of pure gold on his head. 4  He asked life of thee, and thou gavest it him, even length of days for ever and ever. 5  His glory is great in thy salvation: honour and majesty hast thou laid upon him. 6  For thou hast made him most blessed for ever: thou hast made him exceeding glad with thy countenance. 7  For the king trusteth in the LORD, and through the mercy of the most High he shall not be moved. 8  Thine hand shall find out all thine enemies: thy right hand shall find out those that hate thee. 9  Thou shalt make them as a fiery oven in the time of thine anger: the LORD shall swallow them up in his wrath, and the fire shall devour them. 10  Their fruit shalt thou destroy from the earth, and their seed from among the children of men. 11  For they intended evil against thee: they imagined a mischievous device, which they are not able to perform. 12  Therefore shalt thou make them turn their back, when thou shalt make ready thine arrows upon thy strings against the face of them. 13  Be thou exalted, LORD, in thine own strength: so will we sing and praise thy power.

(Prov 3:  KJV)  1  My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments: 2 For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.

(Prov 3:  KJV) 13  Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding. 14  For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold. 15  She is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her. 16  Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honour. 17  Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace. 18  She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is every one that retaineth her. 19  The LORD by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath he established the heavens. 20  By his knowledge the depths are broken up, and the clouds drop down the dew. 21  My son, let not them depart from thine eyes: keep sound wisdom and discretion: 22  So shall they be life unto thy soul, and grace to thy neck. 23  Then shalt thou walk in thy way safely, and thy foot shall not stumble. 24  When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet.

And who does not want to live a long life, but do stupid things and you will die sooner for sure..

(Ezra 7:23 KJV)  Whatsoever is commanded by the God of heaven, let it be diligently done for the house of the God of heaven: for why should there be wrath against the realm of the king and his sons?

or
(Deu 28:31 KJV)  Thine ox shall be slain before thine eyes, and thou shalt not eat thereof: thine ass shall be violently taken away from before thy face, and shall not be restored to thee: thy sheep shall be given unto thine enemies, and thou shalt have none to rescue them.

or
(Deu 28:7 KJV)  The LORD shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way, and flee before thee seven ways.

(2 Sam 7:23 KJV)  And what one nation in the earth is like thy people, even like Israel, whom God went to redeem for a people to himself, and to make him a name, and to do for you great things and terrible, for thy land, before thy people, which thou redeemedst to thee from Egypt, from the nations and their gods?

(Psa 52:9 KJV)  I will praise thee for ever, because thou hast done it: and I will wait on thy name; for it is good before thy saints.

(Psa 68:7 KJV)  O God, when thou wentest forth before thy people, when thou didst march through the wilderness; Selah:

(Psa 89:14 KJV)  Justice and judgment are the habitation of thy throne: mercy and truth shall go before thy face.

(Dan 10:12 KJV)  Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words.

(Rev 3:9 KJV)  Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.

It’s your choice now too..

(Eccl 7:17 KJV)  Be not over much wicked, neither be thou foolish: why shouldest thou die before thy time?

If there really is a God, people wonder, why..

flwrs10 (2)

If there really is a God, people wonder, why there is Sin now on earth and why also God he has He allowed so much suffering in the world?

Many Christians honestly struggle with that same question. Only by turning to the Bible can we begin to understand the problem of suffering in this life. There originally was no sin in this world, none at all, Man, Adam and Eve sinned and the negative consequences of sin next now became an undeniable  permanent part of this earth, world.. God now had allowed man to use his free will, for man is not a puppet or a slave of God..

(Rom 3:23 KJV)  For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

(Rom 5:12 KJV)  Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

(Deu 4:39 KJV)  Know therefore this day, and consider it in thine heart, that the LORD he is God in heaven above, and upon the earth beneath: there is none else.

(1 Sam 2:2 KJV)  There is none holy as the LORD: for there is none beside thee: neither is there any rock like our God.

(Psa 14:1 KJV)   The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

(Psa 14:3 KJV)  They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

(Psa 73:25 KJV)  Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee.

(Psa 86:8 KJV)  Among the gods there is none like unto thee, O Lord; neither are there any works like unto thy works.

(Isa 41:17 KJV)  When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue faileth for thirst, I the LORD will hear them, I the God of Israel will not forsake them.

(Isa 45:5 KJV)  I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me:

(Isa 45:6 KJV)  That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the LORD, and there is none else.

(Isa 45:18 KJV)  For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else.

(Isa 45:22 KJV)  Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.

(Micah 7:2 KJV)  The good man is perished out of the earth: and there is none upright among men: they all lie in wait for blood; they hunt every man his brother with a net.

(Hag 1:6 KJV)  Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but ye are not filled with drink; ye clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earneth wages earneth wages to put it into a bag with holes.

(Rom 3:10 KJV)  As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

(Rom 3:11 KJV)  There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.

(Rom 3:12 KJV)  They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

“Basically, there are four types of suffering.

The first type is that which comes as the result of natural disasters, such as an earthquake or a hurricane. The suffering that results from these disasters happens to both the righteous and unrighteous (Matthew 5:45).

A second type of suffering can be called man’s inhumanity to man. War would be classified under this type of suffering. Because of humanity’s greed and pride, people try to hurt other people (James 4:1-2).

A third type of suffering is best seen in the life of Job in the Old Testament; it came as a result of Satan’s attack on him. After receiving permission from God, Satan moved in and caused incredible suffering to Job and his family.

A fourth type of suffering is that which comes as a result of our own erroneous actions. For example, if I walk off the roof of my office and fall to the ground, breaking my leg, I am suffering because I broke God’s law of gravity. We also suffer when we break God’s moral laws.

Now if Adam and Even our grandparents had firstly not disobeyed God, tall this sins and suffering would not have existed in this world

Much suffering can be traced to the evil choices we make. Some, but not all, suffering is allowed by God as a punishment for sin. Often God simply forces us to live with the consequences of our actions (Galatians 6:7-8).

Whenever people break God’s laws, others are bound to suffer as well. I refer you to the story of Achan in Joshua 7. When he coveted and took some of the spoil from the battle of Jericho, Achan cost the lives of thirty-six men in battle against Ai. It is inevitable that others will suffer in the wake of an individual’s disobedience.

How we respond to suffering–whether or not we brought it on ourselves–is going to make us or break us as Christian pilgrims. Circumstances often do more to reveal our character than to shape it. But by properly responding to trials, we can develop patience and proven character (Romans 5:3-4).

Problems, stress, calamity, or the death of a loved one often cause us to search ourselves for any sin in our lives (see 1 Kings 17:18). Pain plants the flag of truth in a heavy heart. But we must be cautious not to let Satan overwhelm us with excessive and false guilt or grief (2 Corinthians 2:7). Job’s wife told him to curse God and die. He refused to give up and remained faithful to the Lord. Notice that in the end God gave him all he had before and even more (Job 42:10-17).

Instead of looking at our circumstances, we need to keep our eyes on Jesus Christ, the source of life. He will bring us through whatever situation we face, and as a result we will be stronger Christians, better able to serve Him because of our trials.

In a day of pessimism and suffering we can say with the psalmist, “The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?” (Psalm 118:6). The Lord Himself, as the great Sufferer, is our comfort and hope in troubled times.

Before you so readily sin, do your thing, do think about what possible negatives consequences now it will also have on others, beside yourself.. (Gal 6:7 KJV)  Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

(Gal 6:8 KJV)  For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

Grace be to you and peace from God

(2 Cor 1:2 KJV)  Grace be to you and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

(2 Cor 1:3 KJV)  Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;

(2 Cor 1:4 KJV)  Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.

(2 Cor 1:5 KJV)  For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ.

(2 Cor 1:6 KJV)  And whether we be afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effectual in the enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer: or whether we be comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation.

(2 Cor 1:7 KJV)  And our hope of you is stedfast, knowing, that as ye are partakers of the sufferings, so shall ye be also of the consolation.

(2 Cor 1:9 KJV)  But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead:

(2 Cor 1:21 KJV)  Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God;

(2 Cor 1:22 KJV)  Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.

(2 Cor 12:7 KJV)  And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. 8  For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. 9  And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10  Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

(2 Cor 13:5 KJV)  Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?

(2 Cor 13:11 KJV)  Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.

Many people are falsely led these days to believe they can have, attain anything they want, which is not so.. Jesus Christ predetermines what is good, needful, essential personally for you.

The same Jesus Christ who has said (John 15:5 KJV)  I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. 6  If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

(1 Tim 6:9 KJV)  But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.

(1 Tim 6:10 KJV)  For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

(1 Tim 6:11 KJV)  But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.

(2 Tim 1:7 KJV)  For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

(1 Tim 6:18 KJV)  That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;

(1 Tim 6:19 KJV)  Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.

Many years ago some one had said that most marriage problems, divorce are over the issue of money..  some are, but many marriages break down are due to uncontrolled lusts of the flesh, and unforgiveness as well..

But I would agree that many problems amongst so called Christians, including church fights are often over over money, the control over it,  and many professing Christians depart from the faith over the false lust for more money and what money can buy for them.

(James 4:1 KJV)  From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members?

2  Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.
3  Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.
4  Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
5  Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy?
6  But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
7  Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
8  Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
9  Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.
10  Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

(1 John 2:15 KJV)  Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

(1 Cor 16:22 KJV)  If any man love not the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be Anathema Maranatha.

Almost since my first job after graduating from university I had learned that people are not to be trusted, need to be supervised, and corruption still exists in construction, universities, municipalities, governments, corporations, amongst professionals and politicians as well.

(Mat 7:15 KJV)  Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

(Mat 10:17 KJV)  But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues;

(Mat 16:6 KJV)  Then Jesus said unto them, Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.

(Mark 12:38 KJV)  And he said unto them in his doctrine, Beware of the scribes, which love to go in long clothing, and love salutations in the marketplaces,

(Luke 12:15 KJV)  And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.

(Luke 20:46 KJV)  Beware of the scribes, which desire to walk in long robes, and love greetings in the markets, and the highest seats in the synagogues, and the chief rooms at feasts;

(Phil 3:2 KJV)  Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision.

(2 Tim 3:1 KJV)  This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2  For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3  Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4  Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5  Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
6  For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
7  Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
8  Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.
9  But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was.

(2 Pet 3:3 KJV)  Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,

A professing Christian person I know quite well who undeniably was guilty of tax evasions, theft, lying, abuse of others, slander and much more to cover up for the reality of his own negative acts, published a Christian Devotional on the net called ” The Lord is my Shepherd” , Well Jesus Christ for certainty was not, is not his shepherd.. rather his own sinful self is dominating his own  life.

Wells still without water

(Isa 8:9 KJV)  Associate yourselves, O ye people, and ye shall be broken in pieces; and give ear, all ye of far countries: gird yourselves, and ye shall be broken in pieces; gird yourselves, and ye shall be broken in pieces.

(Isa 8:10 KJV)  Take counsel together, and it shall come to nought; speak the word, and it shall not stand: for God is with us.

(Isa 8:11 KJV)  For the LORD spake thus to me with a strong hand, and instructed me that I should not walk in the way of this people, saying,

(Isa 8:12 KJV)  Say ye not, A confederacy, to all them to whom this people shall say, A confederacy; neither fear ye their fear, nor be afraid.

(Isa 8:13 KJV)  Sanctify the LORD of hosts himself; and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread.

(Isa 8:14 KJV)  And he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel, for a gin and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

(Isa 8:15 KJV)  And many among them shall stumble, and fall, and be broken, and be snared, and be taken.

(Isa 8:16 KJV)  Bind up the testimony, seal the law among my disciples.

(Isa 8:17 KJV)  And I will wait upon the LORD, that hideth his face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for him.

(Isa 8:18 KJV)  Behold, I and the children whom the LORD hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the LORD of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion.

(Isa 8:19 KJV)  And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead?

(Isa 8:20 KJV)  To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

(Isa 8:21 KJV)  And they shall pass through it, hardly bestead and hungry: and it shall come to pass, that when they shall be hungry, they shall fret themselves, and curse their king and their God, and look upward.

(Isa 8:22 KJV)  And they shall look unto the earth; and behold trouble and darkness, dimness of anguish; and they shall be driven to darkness.

There really is no true light in them. Sadly it seems to apply to 70 percent of the  professing Christians and their poor pastors

And many of them have false, misleading internet sites just to show off, try to falsely be popular. They are empty wells.

True Christians Receive Spiritual Blessings From God and Pass Them on to Others.

But the others.. “These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever” (II Peter 2: 17

This text describes under two figures false or counterfeit Christians referred to in greater detail throughout the second chapter of Second Peter. Wells without water and clouds that give no rain, but are driven by the storm, are fitting illustrations of people who put on the appearance of Christianity, but have not within themselves the spiritual life which would be a blessing to themselves and to others.

False Teachers
Outstanding among these wells without water are the “… false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies. . .” (II Peter 2: 1.) These false teachers, we are told, will bring upon themselves swift destruction. They may be recognized by the heresies they teach, by their pernicious ways, and by their covetousness, as we may note in the first three verses of this chapter.

Presumptuous
Other unjust (lost) persons, whom the Lord knows how to reserve unto the day of judgment to be punished, are said to be “presumptuous, self willed” and “not afraid to speak evil of dignities.” These are professed Christians who habitually “walk after the flesh” and “despise government.” “They profess that they know God; but in works they deny Him…” (Titus 1:16.) Some of their sins are mentioned in detail:

But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed; speak evil of the things that they understand not: and shall utterly perish in their own corruption: And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, as they that count it pleasure to riot in the day time. Spots they are and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings while they feast with you: Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices: cursed children: Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness” (II Peter 2:12-15).

Slaves of Corruption

Among these false teachers are those who promise liberty to others through their counterfeit gospels, though “While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage” (II Peter 2:19.) In the last three verses of the chapter the apostle tells the truth about those fake Christians who are said to have escaped the pollutions of the world and then are entangled therein.

“For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire” (II Peter 2:20-22).

Water of Life
Such is the graphic description of these wells without water. Surely the figure would be clear enough even if we did not have it explained elsewhere in scripture that Christians are to be wells or fountains from which streams of spiritual life go forth to water thirsty souls about them.

But we are not dependent on our own intelligence or imagination for an understanding of this figure. Jesus Himself declared, “But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life” (John 4:14).

This “well of water springing up into everlasting life” is designed of God not only to be a blessing to the soul that is saved, but a fountain of life flowing forth to bless others: “He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water” (John 7:38). Lest we should not understand this spiritual language, John plainly tells us in the next verse “(But this spoke he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given: because that Jesus was not yet glorified)” (John 7:39).

“Freely Give”
So it appears from the scriptures that the gifts and the fruit of the Spirit are intended to be a means of blessing to other people and not merely for us to enjoy. So Jesus told His apostles on one occasion, “Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give” (Matthew 10:8).

Paul told the church at Corinth, “For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures” and reminded the pastors of Ephesus that Jesus said, “I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said; It is more blessed to give than to receive” (I Corinthians 15:3; Acts 20:35).

“As Many As”
This characteristic of a true Christian, that he has within him the Spirit of Christ so directing his own life that he becomes a source of spiritual blessing to others, is not, as taught by the false holiness cults, an extra special attainment of relatively few of God’s people in a “second blessing,” but is a proper trait of every true child of God.

“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God . . . But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his” (Romans 8:14, 9).

Sad to say, there are multitudes of professed Christians who have not the Spirit of God, but they are not the children of God. They are “wells without water”: they themselves have never drunk of the water of life proceeding from the throne of God, and so they have none of this water to offer to others.

They are “wells without water”: they have the appearance of wells but they are only dry holes; they look like Christians but they have no life within. “

======== [From AAB, June 30, 1972. – jrd]

You Think You’re following after God  But You’re Not! You Think You’re Saved, But really You’re Not!

What a horrifying reality, to think you will enter God’s presence on the day of your death, but then, come to find out on that day, you were actually deceived, and you find yourself in hell. Such is, and will be, the terror of most who call themselves Christians today (Matthew 7:13-14; Luke 13:24; 2 Peter 2:2). They will find themselves weeping and gnashing their teeth (e.g. Matthew 8:12; 22:1-14; 25;14-30; Luke 13:28).

Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. (Matthew 7:13)

How long, you simple ones, will you love simplicity? For scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge. (Proverbs 1:22)

Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. (Matthew 4:4)

Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. (James 1:21)

If anyone teaches otherwise and does not consent to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which accords with godliness, he is proud, knowing nothing, but is obsessed with disputes and arguments over words, from which come envy, strife, reviling, evil suspicions, useless wranglings of men of corrupt minds and destitute of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain. From such withdraw yourself. (1 Timothy 6:3-5)

He who keeps instruction is in the way of life, but he who refuses correction goes astray. (Proverbs 10:17)

You reject all those who stray from Your statutes, for their deceit is falsehood. Psalm 119:118

You rebuke the proud, the cursed, who stray from Your commandments. Psalm 119:21

For the commandment is a lamp, and the law a light; reproofs of instruction are the way of life. (Proverbs 6:23)

Cease listening to instruction, my son, and you will stray from the words of knowledge. (Proverbs 19:27)

My son, give attention to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart; for they are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh. (Proverbs 4:20-22; see also Proverbs 8:35 & 16:22)

My son, let them not depart from your eyes, keep sound wisdom and discretion; so they will be life to your soul and grace to your neck. (Proverbs 3:21-22)

Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city. (Revelation 22:14)

He who believes in the Son has eternal life; but he who does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him. (John 3:36 NAS, see also 1 John 2:3-5).

Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son. (2 John 9)

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. (2 Corinthians 10:3-5)

Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city. But outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie. (Revelation 22:14-15; see also Revelation 21:8)

Strive to enter through the narrow gate, for many, I say to you, will seek to enter and will not be able. (Luke 13:24)

For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God? Now “If the righteous one is scarcely saved, where will the ungodly and the sinner appear?” (1 Peter 4:17-18)

My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. (John 10:27)

And when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. They will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers. (John 10:4-5)

These are wells without water, clouds carried by a tempest, for whom is reserved the blackness of darkness forever. (2 Peter 2:17)

The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. (John 10:10a)

Strive to enter through the narrow gate, for many, I say to you, will seek to enter and will not be able. (Luke 13:24)

THE INNER LIFE   Wells Without Water “The Inner Life Contrasted with its Counterfeit”

“These are wells without water.” 2 Peter 2:7.

It is one of the ever-working schemes and master strokes of the prince of darkness- and too successful is his exploit- to annihilate in the view of man, the essential difference which God’s holy word draws between the mere external profession of Christianity, and its internal and vital possession. And yet, while we concede that in every true disciple of Jesus these two extremes meet- the possession and the profession of Christ- at the same time we must remark that, existing apart and alone, heaven and earth, midnight darkness and meridian light, life and death itself, are not more essentially distinct from each other than they. To break down this broad, unbending line of separation, and thus to reduce the life-possessing and life-imparting religion of Jesus to a religion of mere sentiment, or of feeling, or of form- in other words, to the religion of death- is Satan’s grand and too successful scheme. It would be, perhaps, difficult to say from which field he has reaped a more appalling harvest of souls- that of a nominal religious profession, or that of a profane and avowed ungodliness. We speak not lightly, but it is our solemn conviction, that more souls have gone down to the regions of despair reposing in their baptismal vows, and sacramental grace, and works of human righteousness, than those who made no profession of religion whatever, except the religion of the infidel, the atheist, or the world. It is to this large and solemn class the apostle applies the searching words selected as the basis of our present remarks “These are wells without water.” The passage suggests two distinct and important topics of consideration: the character of the true believer, or what the real Christian possesses; the character of the false Christian, or what the mere professor does not possess.

The figure of “wells without water” is not only one of frequent occurrence in the word of God, but in its reverse interpretation it is highly expressive of the gracious character, and holy, dispensing influence of the true believer in the Lord Jesus. Reverse the awfully significant meaning in which it is used by the apostle, and you have the exact portrait of a truly Christian man. The ‘well without water’, supposes the existence of the ‘well with water’. And as the well without water is descriptive of the false Christian, so the well with water is descriptive of the true- and it is of him we are first to speak.

THE REAL BELIEVER in Jesus is a gracious man. He is a ‘living soul.’ He is the partaker of a new and a Divine nature, and is the depository of a heavenly and a precious treasure. In exhibiting him under the figure of the ‘well with water’, we are naturally led to trace the source of his supply. The well may contain, but it does not originate the supply. It holds the water, but it cannot create the water. It is dependent upon a foreign and a hidden source. From a depth which no line can fathom, and which no skill can explore, the precious fluid rushes forth, sparkling and bounding in the joyousness of its own independent and mysterious existence. It is thus with Christianity and the Christian. There is not a well of salvation in the gospel, nor a spring of life in the believer, which is not dependent for its supply upon a source extraneous from itself. The Lord Jesus Christ is that Source. He is the well-head of all salvation and of all grace. The well with water is the well that has its source in him, “of whose fulness all we have received, and grace for grace.”

God, the Fountain of life, light, and grace, has ordained that the Lord Jesus Christ, his own beloved Son, should be the well-spring, the one source of supply from where all the salvation of the sinner, all the sanctity of the saint, and all the grace and truth of the Church, collectively and individually, should be derived. “It pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell.” What a glorious declaration is this! How should our hearts leap for joy, and our souls thrill with gladness at its very sound! All the “fulness of the Godhead bodily;” all the fulness of the Church graciously; all the fulness of the sinner savingly; all the fulness of the Christian sanctifyingly; in a word, all that a poor, fallen, tried son of Adam needs, until he reaches heaven itself, where this fulness has come- is, by God’s eternal love and wisdom, treasured up in the “Second Adam, the Lord from heaven.”

From Jesus the well derives its water. In the description which we have of the creation of the world, there is a distinction observed between the “waters which were under the firmament and the waters which were above the firmament.” In the new creation not less striking and observable is this difference. The water above, is the “pure river of the water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God,” and gathered together in one mighty confluence in Jesus; and by him brought down to earth and deposited in all true believers, who thus become wells with water; and so, by the dispensing influence of their grace and holiness, “water the whole face of the ground.” Thus the “waters are divided from the waters”- the water in the Fountain above, from the water in the well below.

But this truth will be unfolded more fully in the consideration of THE WELL ITSELF. The Christian, figuratively speaking, is this well, deriving, as we have seen, his supply from that hidden Spring to whom he is closely united. There is, first, the interesting fact upon which a preceding chapter has fully expatiated, and therefore to which we need but simply now refer- the indwelling of Christ in the soul. Christ himself enunciates the truth- “I in them.” Observe, these are not the words of the apostle, whose ardent mind and glowing imagination might be supposed to exaggerate a truth beyond its proper limits; but they are words of Jesus himself- of him who is the Truth, and who therefore cannot lie. “I in them.” Christ dwelling in the soul forms the inner life of that soul. The experience of this blessing stands connected with the lowest degree of grace, and with the feeblest faith; the lamb of the flock, the soul that has but touched the hem of the Savior’s garment, prostrate as a penitent at the feet of the true Aaron- in each and in all alike, Christ dwells. He has a throne in that heart, a temple in that body, a dwelling in that soul, and thus, as by a kind of second incarnation, God is manifest in the flesh; in Christ’s manifestation in the believer. Truly is he a well with water, who has “Christ in him the hope of glory.”

In addition to this is, the indwelling of God’s grace in the soul. Grace is a thing foreign to the natural state of man. His possession of grace is not concurrent with his birth, nor can it be his by right of hereditary law. No parent, however holy, can transmit a particle of saving grace to his posterity. The law of primogeniture, or the privilege of the birthright, is set aside in the kingdom of grace, whose subjects are “born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” But see how this mystery is cleared up in the conversation which Jesus held with the Samaritan woman, as he sat wearied upon the mouth of Jacob’s well “Jesus answered and said unto her, If you knew the gift of God, and who it is that says to you, Give me to drink, you would have asked of him, and he would have given you living water.” This is the grace of which we speak, and this the source from where it flows into the hearts of all the truly regenerate. It is in you, Christian reader, “a well of water,” a springing well, mounting upward and ascending to the source from where it rises. God looks upon you, not as a dry well, but as a springing well- his own renewing, adopting, sanctifying grace, flowing into your heart- and thus ascending to Him from whom it proceeds, in holy desires, and spiritual aspirations, and divine actings- the living water seeking its level, and rising to its source. Blessed words- “Springing up into everlasting life!” As the first blush of morning is a part of the day, so the least dawn of grace in the soul is a portion of heaven. The well below, is the spring of grace- the well above, is the fountain of glory.

Yet a third blessing of the renewed state is the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. Thus says the apostle; “don’t you know that you are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?” He would seem to say- “If you do not know it, you ought to know it as one professing godliness.” O what a celestial well- though in himself a poor earthen vessel, a broken cistern- is that regenerate man who has the Holy Spirit reigning in him, living in him- never to abdicate his throne, never to forsake his sanctuary, never to vacate his dwelling; never, by all the corruptions that are there, by all the slightings, and piercings, and woundings which he receives, forced to retire from the temple he has constructed, beautified, and made his own!

In view of these statements, who will, then, deny that all believers in Jesus are wells with water? What an exalted character, and what an enviable man, is the true Christian! All the resources of the Triune God unite to replenish this earthen vessel. No angel in heaven contains a treasure half so costly and so precious as that poor believing sinner, who, getting near to the Savior’s feet, and bathing them with tears of penitence and love, can look up and exclaim, “Whom have I in heaven but you? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside you.”

But we must not overlook an interesting thought suggested by the figure of the text. I allude to the dispensing influence of the well. What is the proper design of a well? Certainly it is not constructed for itself. It is designed to disperse abroad its fulness, and to communicate the blessing it contains. Unless the water of a well finds an outlet, it becomes of necessity stagnant and inert; and instead of being a well giving out and spreading abroad its sparkling streams, it is a still, lifeless reservoir, yielding nothing, and consequently receiving nothing. Striking emblem of the Christian! The knowledge and the grace that God has given you, though for yourself primarily, are not for yourself exclusively. God, in making you a well of living water- in other words, a possessor of Divine grace- designed to disperse abroad the streams; so that through the consistency of your walk, the holiness of your life, and the personal activity of your grace in the cause of God and of truth, it might find an outlet for the benefit of others.

What a well of spiritual knowledge is the true believer! To him it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom, while from others they are hidden. Where may we look for an understanding of the revealed mind of God but to him? Who knows the secret of the Lord, and to whom does he show his covenant, but to those who fear him? Having ‘an unction from the Holy One,’ he knows all things. He knows something of that mystery, which no philosophy of man can teach him- the plague of his own heart. He knows something, too, of the value of Christ- his person, his work,
his glory, his fulness, his tenderness, his sympathy, his preciousness. He knows something of the character and dealings of God- as a holy God, as a sin-forgiving God, as a just God, and yet who blots out sin and remembers it no more forever. He knows, in some measure, what the intricacies of the Christian way are; what the narrowness of the narrow path is; what are the difficulties of walking with God; what are the conflicts, the trials, the tribulations of the Christian life- and the stream flows abroad.

What a well of holiness is the true believer! The Spirit of holiness inhabiting him, despite the corrupt sediment of his fallen nature, he contains and dispenses abroad that stream of holy influence which carries with it a blessing wherever it flows. Where do we look for true holiness except in the soul born again of the Spirit? A holy man is earth’s greatest blessing, is the world’s richest ornament and shield.

What a well of compassion is the real Christian! He it is who, taught the priceless value of his own eternal happiness, has affections of compassion for the souls of others involved in like ruin with himself. ” O that my head were waters, and my eyes a fountain of tears!” says Jeremiah. “Rivers of waters run down my eyes because they keep not your law!” exclaims David. These men were mourning wells- and God has distinguished such. “Set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and cry for all the abominations that be done.” The Lord Jesus, the great mourner, who wept, not for himself, but for others, has his bottle for the tears of these wells of pity and compassion; whose sympathies, and prayers, and exertions, flow forth for the conversion of sinners, for the salvation of souls.

Wells of charity, too, are they. Where shall we look for the Divine cement, the true bond, which unites the heart of man to man, but in the one Church of God? Who is the true peacemaker, the diligent sower of peace, the zealous promoter of love, charity, and good-will among men, but he in whose heart the love of God finds a home? Who has such sincere pity for the poor, whose hand is more ready to relieve their necessities- than he who himself is a conscious partaker of the benevolence of God? Such, reader, are some of the characteristics of true Christians- the wells with water- dispensing wells.

There is yet another essential feature of a gracious state suggested by the figure, which we must not overlook. These wells with water are perpetually receiving as well as dispensing. Indeed, they can only dispense to others what is dispensed to them. We have intimated that believers are but wells. All their springs are in God. Listen to the acknowledgment: “As the deer pants after the water brooks, so pants my soul after you, O God! My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. O God, you are my God! early will I seek you; my soul thirsts for you, my flesh longs for you in a dry and thirsty land where no water is.” And then comes the Divine answer: “When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue fails for thirst, I the Lord will hear them, I the God of Israel will not forsake them. I will open rivers in high places, and fountains in the midst of the valleys: I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water.” And then follows the response of the soul thirsting after righteousness: “Lord, give me this water, that I thirst not.”

Thus does the gracious soul derive all its grace from Christ, “who of God is made unto him wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, and redemption.” He stands by to replenish the well as its resources are exhausted. When the water is low, he raises it; as it gives out, he pours in; and the more liberally it imparts, the more bountifully it receives. “The liberal soul devises liberal things, and by liberal things shall he stand.” “There is one who scatters, and yet increases.” Who has ever become poor for God? Who has given freely that has not in return received freely? Who has ever laid himself out for the Lord, consecrating his substance, his influence, his time, his talents, that has not experienced a welling up in his own soul of the hidden spring, more than replacing all that he has dispensed? The grace that has been employed, the faith that has been exercised, the wealth that has been consecrated, the influence that has been exerted, the reproach that has been endured, the suffering that has been experienced, the health that has been expended, the loss that has been sustained for Christ; Christ has more than recompensed even in the present time-state. “Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness”-is the precept- “and all these things shall be added unto you”-is the promise; and He who enjoins the precept, will make good the promise.
Such, then, are some of the characteristics of true Christians.

The reverse of all this we now proceed to consider, in an analysis of THE CHARACTER OF THE FALSE CHRISTIAN- THE GRACELESS PROFESSOR- THE SELF-DECEIVED. “These are wells without water.”

Let it be distinctly observed that they are spoken of as wells; that is, they are professors of religion. They have the “form of godliness.” They have all the external appearance of real grace and sanctity. Judging of them by their church, or by their minister, or by their creed, or by their party zeal, or even by their knowledge, we should at once rank them, and perhaps rank them high, with the true possessors of grace. So strong are some of the features of resemblance, that it needs the most skillful eye to detect the difference. Looking, not at the external construction of the well- the beautiful and costly materials of which it is composed- but looking within the well, we soon discover that it is a well without water. Again we remark, that, forming our judgment of them by their church membership, their correct orthodoxy, their showy Christianity, many would be deceived as to their real state, beguiled into the belief that they were truly converted. But when judged of by God’s word- alas, how awful the deficiency! Thus far may you go, professors of religion, and yet rest short of the reality. You may be baptized, may partake of the Lord’s Supper, may be enrolled upon the records of the Church, be thought a Christian, be respected as a Christian, be confided in as a Christian, and yet His searching glance ‘whose eyes are as a flame of fire,’ discovers in you nothing but a well without water, a soul without grace- religious profession without religious principle.

Thus have we shown that a godless professor, a false Christian, is but A DRY WELL. There is no inhabitation of the Spirit, no indwelling of Christ, no possession of Divine grace. No tears of repentance have ever moistened the eyes. There are no wellings up from the heart of holy aspirations after God, of loving desires after Jesus. There are no indications of the plague known, of the burden felt, or of the conflict experienced. No echoing of the apostle’s language, “Wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?” There are no breathings after holiness, no longings after Divine conformity, no desires to depart and be with Christ, no anointing of the Spirit. With all the light that is in his judgment, and his observance of days, and months, and seasons, he is but a dry well- a well without water. He possesses not the inner life.

Contemplate this affecting character in yet another point of light- the influence which a mere religious professor exerts. A well with out water! -what a miserable privation! The weary traveler after much endurance of thirst and suffering sees in the distance the inviting well. Rejoicing in the discovery, he quickens his pace, and lo! he finds it indeed a well, but a dry well- a well without water! His expectation is turned into disappointment, his joy into sorrow; and like the Savior who came hungry to the fig tree and found upon it no fruit, and retiring, breathed upon it his withering curse; so departs the traveler from the well which has so cruelly mocked his raging thirst.

Thus is it with a mere professor- an empty, graceless professor of religion. We go to him, hoping for a little lift in our journey homeward; we go, seeking for some sweet consolation in our deep trial, for counsel in our perplexity, for sympathy with our sorrow, for the communion of saints- but alas! there is no response, no echo, no vibrating chord- nothing in union with what we feel: the well is dry, and not one drop can we extract from it. Oh, is it not one of the bitterest reflections that can fasten upon your mind, that, perhaps, many a poor thirsty soul has repaired to you for instruction, for sympathy, for strength, and finding you a stranger to the mysteries of the Divine life, to the trials, the conflicts, and the joys of the Christian, has turned away in bitter disappointment, even as the weary traveler, parched with thirst, turns from the well without water. It is a solemn thing to be mistaken for a real believer, to be looked up to as a true Christian, and yet to prove destitute of the knowledge and grace of Christ! -to awaken hope, and to raise expectation, and to create an interest, and to inspire confidence, and when the test is made, when the trial comes, to prove but a graceless soul- deceived and deceiving!

And yet what numbers there are of such! We speak of Jesus-there is no echo. We introduce the subject of all subjects- the most interesting and momentous- the subject of heart religion- there is no response. We go into the detail of Christian experience, the warfare, the sorrows, the joys, the trials, the burdens, the progress, the hope of the Christian, but we speak a language that they understand not. “These are wells without water.” No ingenuity can elicit, no possible effort can extract, one drop of the living water. “We play the flute for them, but they do not dance; we sing a dirge for them, but they do not weep.”

Turning now to THE TRUE CHRISTIAN, in view of this sadly affecting character we have been attempting to portray, let me remark upon the deep humility which ought to distinguish him as a real professor of the grace of Christ Jesus. What are you in yourself but the mere well? The grace which you possess is a communicated grace. We have this precious treasure in earthen vessels. All that is really holy and gracious in us, springs not from our fallen nature, but, like “every good and perfect gift, comes down from the Father of Lights.” It is the spontaneous outflowing of the heart of God- the free, unmerited bestowment of his sovereign mercy. Then what meekness of heart, what profound humility of mind, ought to mark you! What a prostration of every form of self- self-confidence, self-seeking, self-boasting, that arrogant view of our attainments and doings, which mars the Christianity of so many- should there be, as reasonably becomes those who have nothing but what they have received, and whom free and sovereign grace alone has distinguished from others!

How precious ought Jesus to be to us, who has condescended to pour this heavenly treasure into our hearts, and to undertake its constant supply! In what way can we best prove our sense of his goodness, but by drawing largely from the Fountain, and by glorifying him in what we receive? Truly “the well is deep” from where we draw this living water! Our resources are inexhaustible, because they are infinite. Nor can we come too frequently, nor draw too largely. “Spring up, O well of grace and love, into our hearts! Let not our waters be shallow nor sluggish. O for more depth of indwelling grace! O for more fervor of holy love! O for richer supplies from the fulness of Christ! O for a gracious revival in our souls! ‘Come down,’ blessed Jesus, ‘as rain upon the mown grass!’ Breathe, O south wind of the Spirit, upon the garden of our souls, that the spices may flow out! Truly the well is deep, from where we have this living water; but faith can reach it, and in proportion to the strength of our faith, and the directness and simplicity with which it deals with Christ, will be the plenitude of our supply. “Drink, yes, drink abundantly, O beloved,” is our Lord’s gracious invitation to his Church.

Nor let us fail to learn the secret of receiving much from Christ- the free dispensing abroad of what we have already received. Be assured of this, that he will receive the most from God who does the most for God. “The diligent soul shall be made fat. He becomes poor that deals with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent makes rich. There is one who scatters, and yet increases.” This is God’s law, and he will never repeal it; his promise, and he will ever, and in all cases, make it good. Go forth, believer in Christ, and let your beams of light irradiate; let your streams of grace be dispersed abroad; live for God, suffer for Christ, witness for the truth, and labor for man. Be such a depositary of this living and life-giving treasure, that others, less favored than yourself; instructed, guided, and strengthened by your wisdom, experience, and grace, may proceed on their way, glorifying God for the grace given to you. O to have the word of God dwelling in us so richly, and our hearts so intensely glowing with the love of Christ, as to be ever ready to open our lips for God- a well always full, and running over.

This, then, is the secret of augmenting our supplies of grace, even by scattering them- of replenishing our resources, even by exhausting them. Who, we repeat the question, has ever become impoverished by giving and laborings for God? Where lives the Christian steward whose fidelity to his Master’s interests has compromised the welfare of his own? Where is the Christian man who, with cheerful munificence, has consecrated his intellectual wealth or his temporal wealth to advance the truth and kingdom of Jesus, whom Christ has not reimbursed a thousand fold? Where is the believer in Jesus who has endured reproach and suffering, patiently and silently, for conscience’ sake, for truth’s sake, for Christ’s sake, who has not infinitely gained in the rest which he has found in God? Where is the active Christian, who, zealously laborings to dispense abroad the life-giving waters, has not felt, in the solemn retirement and calm repose of his closet, when pouring out his sorrow into the bosom of his Savior, or in holding close and holy communion with his God, the springing up into his soul of a hidden well of peace, and joy, and love, which has more than restored the energies he has exhausted, and recompensed him for the sacrifice which he has made?

God meets his people in all their works of faith, and labors of love. They are never alone. He meets them in the path of duty and of trial- both in doing and in suffering his will. He meets them, when embarrassed, with counsel; he meets them, when assailed, with protection; he meets them, when exhausted, with strength; he meets them, when faint, with cordials. If we take up Christ’s cross upon our shoulder, Christ will take both us and our cross up in his arms. If we bow down our neck to his yoke and bend low our back to his burden, we shall find our rest in both. “You meet him that rejoices and works righteousness; those that remember you in your ways.”

“How may I know that I am a well with water?” may be the anxious inquiry of many as they come to the conclusion of this subject. “O that I were quite sure that I was more than a mere professor!” But why ask the question? why be in doubt? Never was so momentous a matter more easily and speedily settled. “He that believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself.” Thus, from yourself you need not travel in order to ascertain your true spiritual condition. No one can be a substitute in this great matter for yourself. It is a thing which has too close and personal a relation to you as an individual, to admit of a transfer of its obligations to another. You must feel for yourself- you must experience for yourself- you must have the witness for yourself- and you must decide for yourself alone. I repeat the solemn words- “He that believes in the Son of God, has the witness in himself.” And again says the same apostle, “Let every man prove his own work, and then shall he rejoice in himself alone, and not in another.”

Thus may you come to a right and safe decision in a question involving interests as solemn and as deathless as eternity. Seek this inward witness. Witnessing to what? -that your heart has been convinced of sin- that you have renounced your own righteousness- that you have fled to the Lord Jesus Christ- and that your soul is breathing after personal holiness. Do not, I beseech you, rest short of this. Here I must hold you. All your reasonings, and objections, and cavilings, and hair-splittings, and subtleties, and sophistries- they are but sparks of your own kindling, in the midst of which you will lie down and die, and die the horrors of the second death, if you are not fully awake to your real condition before God. Give them all up, I implore you. Do not be concerned about others; let your first and chief concern be about yourself. You have no time, just now, to analyze the motives, or sift the principles, or search into the character, or mark the foibles, and detect the inconsistencies of other Christian professors.

Every moment to you is more priceless and precious than all the gems of India; yes, one second of time saved, is of more value to you than a whole eternity lost! Once you shoot across the dark gulf of death, and land on the other side without the inner life- you may then trifle with your existence, and sport with your soul, and laugh at death and hell, and recriminate and reproach others, and brave your doubts, and invent your objections, and frame your excuses, and speculate, and refine, and analyze in theology, and play the fool, as you like- for “there remains no more sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful looking for (an eternal anticipation) of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.” But you cannot afford to act so now. Your precious soul is in danger, your future happiness is in peril, you are in the hands of an angry God, and you are, in fact, fast coming to the close of your probation. To act the fool and to assume the lunatic now, would be more than a mere semblance of the melancholy and awful reality. O come, then, to Christ- I bid you, invite you, implore you to come to Christ. He will answer all your questions, resolve all your doubts, remove all your difficulties, meet all your objections, and quiet all your fears. Only come to Christ. To this one alternative, to this last resort, I would shut you up.

From this I cannot release you. You must come to Christ, or you are lost. He is all, and he has all, and he will freely give you all that you need. One drop of his blood falling upon your conscience, one beam of his love darting in upon your soul, one stream of his grace flowing into your heart, will make all right within; and the morning, when the sun rises in splendor, will not look more radiant, and the lark when it mounts heavenward bathed in its beams, will not sing more sweetly, than you when Jesus thus enters your soul, filling it with sunshine and music. Accept the invitation, “He who comes unto me, I will in no wise cast out” -and you are saved.

“Just as I am, without one plea,
But that your blood was shed for me,
And that you bid me come to thee,
O Lamb of God, I come!”
“Just as I am, and waiting not
To rid my soul of one dark blot,
To you, whose blood can cleanse each spot,
O Lamb of God, I come!”
“Just as I am, though tossed about
With many a conflict, many a doubt,
With fears within and wars without
O Lamb of God I come!”
“Just as I am, poor, wretched, blind;
Sight, riches, healing of the mind,
Yes, all I need, in you to find
O Lamb of God, I come!”
“Just as I am, you will receive,
Will welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve,
Because your promise I believe
O Lamb of God, I come.”
“Just as I am, your love unknown
Has broken every barrier down;
Now, to be yours, yes, yours alone
O Lamb of God, I come!”

We may anticipate another anxious enquiry. “What course am I to adopt when the water is low, when the well is dry, when no effort avails to bring the living fluid to the surface? -in other words, when I find a spiritual drought and deadness in my soul, and cannot feel, nor weep, nor sigh, nor desire? -when to read and meditate, to hear and pray, seem an irksome task? -when I cannot see the Savior’s beauty, nor feel him precious, nor labor as zealously, nor suffer as patiently for him as I would desire?” The answer is at hand- Look again to Jesus. This is the only remedy that can meet your case. Search the Bible through, inquire of all the ministers who have ever lived, and still the answer would be- LOOK AGAIN TO JESUS. Go direct to Christ- he is the Fountainhead, he is the living Well. True, the well is deep- for its fulness is infinite- but faith, be it of the smallest capacity, can with joy draw sufficient to quench your thirst, and make your soul as a garden which the streams have refreshed and made to “rejoice and blossom as the rose.”

The Infinite and Eternal Well is near to you! Like Hagar you are within its reach. May the Holy Spirit open your eyes to see that while all emptiness exists in you, all fulness dwells in Jesus- that, however low may be the living waters in the well of your heart, there is a fathomless depth in the heart of Christ- of love unchangeable, of all-sufficient grace, of immutable truth, of salvation from all sin and trial and sorrow, commensurate with your need, and vast as his own infinity. Never can your grace be too low, nor your frame too depressed, nor your path too perplexing, nor your sorrow too keen, nor your sin too great, nor your condition too extreme for Christ, because he is both Divine and human: thus uniting the nature that can relieve, with the nature that can sympathize. “Son of God! Son of man! how wondrous and glorious are You!” Weeping in lonely sorrow, and pining in sickening need, you may, like the banished wife of Abraham, be looking wistfully around you for support and relief. See! that relief and support are near! Rise- that relief is at hand! Christ is with you, Christ is near you, Christ is in you a Fountain of living water. Cease your sadness, dry your tears, arise! and “with joy draw water out of this Well of salvation.”

Be very honest and diligent in ascertaining the cause of your soul’s dryness. The correct knowledge of this is necessary to its removal; and its removal is essential to the effectual recovery of the inner life from its sad relapse. Is it indulged sin? Is it the neglect of private prayer? Is it the forsaking of the means of grace? Is it worldliness, carnality, unwatchfulness? Anyone of these would so grieve the Spirit of God within you, as to dry up the spirituality of your soul. Do not be beguiled with the belief that the real recovery has taken place, simply because that, conscious of your state, in common-place, meaningless regrets, you acknowledge and deplore it. “The sluggard desires, and has nothing.” Observe, he has his desires, but nothing more, because with them he is satisfied. There is no effectual rousing from his sleep, no earnest attempts are made to shake off the spirit of slumber, no resolute putting away of the narcotic which
produced and which protracts it. There is no drawing near to God, no looking to Christ, no seeking of the Spirit, no thorough mortification of sin, no coming out of the world, no pressing forward. It is the mere desire of the sluggard,
and nothing more. Let not this be your state.

Receive with gladness any awakening to a consciousness of your spiritual relapse, and cherish with prayer any real desire for a better state; but do not rest here. Seek earnestly, importunately, believingly, until you possess more abundantly life from Christ. Seek a gracious revival of the inner life- the life of God in your soul. Seek a clearer manifestation of Christ, a renewed baptism of the Spirit, a more undoubted evidence of your conversion, a surer, brighter hope of heaven. Thus seeking, you will find it; and finding it, your “peace will flow like a river, and your righteousness as the waves of the sea.”

O the joy of a revived state of the inner life of God! It is the joy of spring, which follows the gloom and chill of winter. It is the joy of the sunlight, after a cloudy and dark day. Jesus, walking in the midst of the grace which his own Spirit has thus revived, gently addresses the soul: “Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away. For, lo! the winter is past, the rain is over and gone; the flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds has come, and the voice of the turtle-dove is heard in the land; the fig-tree puts forth her green figs, and the vines with the tender grapes give a good smell. Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away.”

Give all diligence in the use of the means of grace, if you desire a flourishing state of soul. They are the Divinely appointed channels of conveyance from the Fountain. They are the tributary streams from the Great Ocean. You cannot possibly maintain a healthy, vigorous state of the inner life, without them. You cannot neglect, with impunity, private prayer, meditation, and self-examination; or public ordinances- the ministry of the Word, the services of the sanctuary, the assemblies of the saints. A slight thrown upon these must entail a severe loss to your soul. Some professors can go from Sabbath to Sabbath, plunged in worldliness, or eager in the pursuit of gain, in total neglect of the prayer-meeting, or of the weekly Bible lecture- those needed rests and hallowed pauses in the way- as if there were no such appointments. These are among the things which weaken the hands, and discourage the heart, and hinder the usefulness of the faithful pastor.

But a more painful calamity even than this, is the dryness, deadness, and barrenness which this neglect brings into their own souls. It would seem as if this were the punishment of their sin. They turn their backs upon God, and God turns his back upon them. They neglect to make the pool, and he withholds the rain that fills it. But, Christian professor, this must not be! The wells must be dug, the water must be searched for. We are told that “Isaac’s servants dug in the valley, and found there a well of springing water” -or, as the margin renders it- “a well of living water.” And he is pronounced a blessed man “who, passing through the valley of Baca, makes it a well; the rain also fills the pools.” It is in this way of diligent, prayerful waiting upon the means, that “he goes from strength to strength, until he appears before God.” O, dig for this precious water! Search, O search, for this living grace! Make the pool, and trust the faithfulness and loving-kindness of God to fill it with “the early and the latter rain.”

No man shall wait upon the Lord in vain. “Those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength.” They who plough deeply the fallow ground, and in its furrows sow the precious seed, shall not lack the Holy Spirit’s descending influence, in silent dew by night, and in copious showers by day, to quicken and to fructify it. Only honor the God of grace in all the means of grace, and God will honor you by imparting to you all grace through the means. “The diligent soul shall be made fat.” Return, O return to the forsaken Christ, to the neglected sanctuary, to the despised means, and you shall then no longer have reason to exclaim, “My leanness! my leanness!”

What a truly appalling character it has been the endeavor of these pages to portray- an empty, graceless professor of Christ! Reader, is this your state? Examine yourself, prove your own self, and ascertain truly if you have “Christ in you the hope of glory.” Satisfy not yourself with external ceremonies, with the observance of days, of matins, and vespers, and frequent communions- with almsgiving and charities. Are you a well with water? This, this is the great and momentous question which, in the near prospect of death, and of the judgment that follows death, it behooves you to decide. Is Christ dwelling in your heart by his Spirit? Is your religion more than a mere outward profession? O, it is an awful thing to go into eternity with your Bible, and your Psalm-book, or your Prayer-book in your hand, but without Christ living in your soul; with the elements of the Savior’s love melting upon your lips, but without the experience of the Savior’s love glowing in your heart; to go reposing in false dependence upon Church privileges, and to have come short of the only true foundation upon which the sinner can build his hope of heaven- the sliding sand substituted for the Eternal Rock.

How exactly has the Lord Jesus met such a case! In one of his striking parabolical discourses, he has furnished us with a description of certain people who in the day of judgment will be found to have put in the plea of Church union, and Church ordinances, and Church privileges, as justifying their claim to admission into heaven; but who will be rejected on that very ground, to their shame and everlasting contempt. Listen to his description; “When once the Master of the house is risen up, and has shut to the door, and you begin to stand outside, and to knock at the door, ‘saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I don’t know you. Then shall you begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in your presence, and you have taught in our streets. But he shall say, I tell you, I don’t know you; depart from me, all you workers of iniquity.”

And who, my reader, are these? Do not be deceived! They are not the profane, and the profligate, and the neglecter of means, and the despiser of ordinances; far otherwise. They are professors of religion, nominal Christians- “almost Christians;” individuals who had been baptized, who frequented the house of God, who were regular in their attendance upon ordinances, and who believed that, by their zealous labors, and their amiable qualities, and their charities and good-will to men, they would at last be saved. But, alas! they are deceived. With all this outward profession, they were unregenerated by the Spirit, were uncircumcised in heart, were unjustified by Christ, and had never become “a habitation of God through the Spirit.” Baptism could not regenerate them, the Lord’s Supper could not sanctify them, their own works could not justify them; and when with confidence they went up to the very gate of heaven, and knocked for admission, lo! they were met with the stern rebuke, “I don’t know you: depart from me, all you workers of iniquity.” O beware, we beseech you, of those public teachers who tell you that you were regenerated in baptism, and that the Lord’s Supper is the instrument of maintaining you in that state of salvation into which, as they teach, baptism introduced you. Give not place to such false instructors, such blind guides, such perverters of the truth, such soul-destroyers; no, not for one moment. Let not their eloquence entice you, let not their reasoning ensnare you, let not their show of sanctity beguile you. You have interests at stake too dear and precious to peril on such terms as these.

I leave these solemn, searching considerations to your prayerful reflection, passing on to another figurative representation of the Inner Life- in its relapse and recovery. ” http://www.gracegems.org/WINSLOW/Wells%20Without%20Water.htm

False

I was shocked when I became a real Christian, not a pretend one, how my version of Christianity now differed from so many loudly professing Christians on many issues now as well such as spiritual gifts, helping poor people.

(Mark 3:33 KJV)  And he answered them, saying, Who is my mother, or my brethren? 34   And he looked round about on them which sat about him, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren! 35   For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother.

(Mat 25:31 KJV)  When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: 32  And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: 33  And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. 34  Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35  For I was an hungered, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: 36  Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. 37  Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungered, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? 38  When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? 39  Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? 40  And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. 41  Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: 42  For I was an hungered, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: 43  I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. 44  Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungered, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? 45  Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. 46  And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

And I had to really rightfully conclude that the others were not real Christians, were persons who did not read the whole Bible, they were not practicing the truth, the faith according to the New Testament, the whole Bible too  but they wrongfully these others they now were preaching, practicing the overly false, simplified Gospel  according to them.  They did this  because  they were hirelings, false , false teachers false prophets, false pastors, false elders, false evangelists, false deacons, a false Christian.

God still opposes all Churches, leader’s sins, and their human rights abuses, and the best way to deal with it is to shout it from the housetops, call the police.. expose it to all.. I do.

>>And there are lots of other charities that help saints overseas. Groups like the Salvation Army have a presence in many nations.

Dream on..

I had personally witnessed Salvation army personnel stealing for themselves what the citizens had donated to the poor, and a secretary of the organization next even confirmed it to me.. as I had detailed to major news editors in Canada. We can also know that over 70 percent of the donations tends not to reach the intended persons in most organizations, cause the overheads, corruptions, even for the empire building as well are much too high..

 >>Judas robbed from the treasury, but was it wrong for people to give Jesus and His disciples a donation? Should we all stop giving to groups that are making some effort to help because the targets of the donations only receive 30%?  Keep working to expose the corruption, we certainly want the crooks in those groups tossed out. But once you have a better group in place, be sure to let us know.

As far as a good system to give to the poor.. it is already there in the book of acts.. it is giving to the poor through your local church.. even the old testament tithe insisted that 1/7 of the tithe be given to the local poor people.  We all do have a responsibility to give firstly to the poor in our own church, neighborhood through the local church, and that is why the Deacons were set to do this. If the deacons are not doing this.. that is another issue..  and yes still we have a responsibly always still to insure the moneys is not being stolen, even in churches now too.

(Acts 6:1 KJV) And in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplied, there arose a murmuring of the Grecians against the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in the daily ministration. 2 Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables .3   Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.

(Acts 2:45 KJV) And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need. (Acts 4:35 KJV) And laid them down at the apostles’ feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need. Galatians 6:10 (New American Standard Bible) 10 So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith.

Apostle Paul beyond a shadow of doubt a real Christian, who took all precautions not to give any offence, was honest, trustworthy too.. was definitely also working in helping the poor people in Rome, elsewhere, as part as his Christian Duties too now, so should all Pastors thus now too!

Rev George Mueller is a classical example of a faith ministry helping poor persons., and this pastor did not live high on the hog in the process too, he was not empire building, or helping himself. Mother Theresa and many others now as well.

In fact the whole New testament Christian church was helping the Poor Christian persons firstly not just apostle Paul, for they will know we are Christians by how we love one another, not our mere words still too– he Paul was just a delivery boy on behalf of the Christian Church, And all pastors need to help the poor people in their church, all churches too.. Jesus Christ cared for the poor people! yes he fed them, healed them, delivered them too. and all very much unlike these days where the evangelical leaders live high on the hog, and their churches especially seems to be too self centered, have falsely abdicated their duties, roles falsely in helping the poor people.. but seem too readily even these days to steal the tithe..

Undeniably 1/7 of the tithe was to be given directly to the local poor people, can any local evangelical, catholic church , even the cult Mormon prove in fact that they do this? The tithe itself also could not be used for paying of mortgages, nor can any person owning any tangible property- real estate , even supposedly poor person or a Christian worker received any portion of the tithe now as well… just as these same principles are applied to persons receiving social welfare from the governments too.

The priests themselves in the book of Malachi themselves now by God were rightfully accused of abusing, or stealing God’s tithes , and that happens too often theses days now still in the churches. I had many an evangelical pastor tell me they would kick me out of their church if I preached any of this above in their church too. I have even seen evangelical pastors often steal directly myself and reported it too.

Yes my main point was the Godly, Biblical pattern for giving to the poor people set forth for giving to the poor people was definitely through the church still, if the LOCAL church is not doing it, it is time to get the LOCAL church in order.

and I for certainly and now on many, many occasions I do not trust rightfully the Salvation Army to do this, especially since they too often clearly have departed from the faith, and employed ungodly believers to do their work too often too. Nor even the Christian Missionary Alliance church and rightfully as well and I have detailed on my sites why too.

I had also noted in the past from a study of events band history that the most lasting efforts, contributions were those that involved the Church directly… which now includes shelters, hospital and university too and worldwide. Famous university, hospitals were originally started by Christian organizations, churches, in Canada and the US now too, both Catholic and protestant ones too.
http://postedat.wordpress.com/2008/07/17/the-christian-evangelical-corporation-and-social-action/ http://postedat.wordpress.com/2008/07/21/the-pretender-imposter-wolf-in-sheep-clothing/

And where local churches who don’t have the infrastructure to help poor people in their church should establish one.. and yes they can send money to another church they can really trust to do this too in another country to help the poor people there.. it is an still unacceptable sin how much too often now the donations are too often abused. We as Christians have to be diligent to see next also how the money is obeying spent, not just in donating it.

>> In scripture, aid went to the saints according to their need, not location.

this is a distortion of the truth to me.. all poor people need to be helped, locally firstly.

(1 Tim 5:8 KJV) But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.

(1 Tim 5:9 KJV) Let not a widow be taken into the number under threescore years old, having been the wife of one man, 10  Well reported of for good works; if she have brought up children, if she have lodged strangers, if she have washed the saints’ feet, if she have relieved the afflicted, if she have diligently followed every good work.

(Acts 6:3 KJV) Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.

I think that we are to take care of the local poor Christian Brethren in our own church first and even also help the unsaved elsewhere next also does not mean we do stop giving firstly to our own family members..but just giving to our own family is not enough..Job also helped everyone he could starting locallyA person’s attiude to the poor and to money shows in reality a lot of what their Christianity is really like too and where are these honest men in the local churches today? they are not all to be like the Apostle Judas. They are to be unlike most of the TV evangelists, big Ministries too, who live high on the hog, drive nice cars, live in expensive mansions and this is never acceptable still to God for sure, I know! for he told me so too!!

And hey it was in Alberta, Canada  that I saw, met, witnessed the most crooked pastors, evangelicals, even the Baptist, Alliance, Salvation Army, and i never saw so many crooked bad pastors in one place too.. but next saw them in other cities in Canada now too.. I saw pastors steal directly in Calgary too, and often.

I was in a super great Church once, even though the Pastors were stealing, abusing the funds, committing adultery, counseling divorce,  gossiping, slandering, lying,  and so forth. The Holy Spirit due to the prayers of some of the faithful persons there  was really moving in their services, and many people were getting saved, healed and delivered, and the praise and worship services were really great. God specifically had told me to go to this church as well, but he had put a condition on it, he said do not talk with, communicate, fellowship  with any of the pastors. I had done some great personal counseling in that Church as well.. met some great and also bad people.  But eventually  one day next came when I had to talk to the same pastors, and even to tell them that God was going to get rid of them, to next deal with them negatively and God did! God next broke down this large Calgary church because it had grown big in size and had become perverse. All of the pastors were next removed from it as well.

It has always been shocking to me when someone had personally said to me the pastor has abused me.. he was unkind, unloving, he even lied.. for that is the last place I have expected to find an abusive persons, a pastor of a Church.

IT IS NOW MORE  RARE BUT I DO ALSO NOW STILL GET BULLIED BY RELIGIOUS BULLIES, ABUSERS TOO..  not just by the past bad cops

The WRONGFULLY STILL Unrepentant  bully’s problem is that he or she is one of those bad persons  who only feels truly alive when voicing hostility and contempt for his “enemies.” Without that, he or she starts gasping for air. It’s his nature.. self-destructive” ..  clearly these immoral  Bully, Basher of others, Abusers of others has a disappointed, deflated ego, negative self worth,  most likely related to past unresolved guilt, as a result  of  that   the bully, he or she, tries falsely to   build  their ego up by bashing, hating others, by being an antagonists against  his proclaimed enemies, which too often also  is most people , for  he or she no longer trust anyone, and Abusers this is a common very typical approach, fact in the character build up of Bullies, Bashers, but their approach is futile, the subsequent feeling of self worth dissipates too quickly, are actually replaced by guilt,  and his ego, self worth likely needs to be recharged with new hate.. and is replaced with more and larger hatred of the others.  I have seen this type of wrong behavior not just in bad managers, bad politicians, bad persons, but  in alcoholics, and most often in Albertan rednecks ,but also  in religious   fundamentals evangelicals who promote hated towards Pentecostal Christians as well, and  now as well as the crooked pastor wrongfully  fighting for control over others. Public exposure and prosecution of these bad persons here too services everyone’s best interest.

I was really surprised that most evangelical, Pentecostal  pastors in Alberta too are control freaks too.. who even meddle into homes now too.. other person’s  lives..

THE MAN KING OF THE HOUSE, THE WOMAN HIS DUTIFUL SUBJECT. The man is the king of the  household, and the wife is only the prime minister. There is no confusion or overlapping of authority. The will of the husband is law. He has the  only   place of honor . The arrangements of the house, the company entertained, and the service employed, all have respect to his wishes and to his convenience. The wife conducts the affairs of state for the king. She has her household and, more than  her personal allowance, and she renders a strict account of stewardship.   The wife’s personal expenditures are less, much less than the husband’s. The will of the husband is the  undisputed law; as to the wife her person, her property, her children under his sole control even to the present time are the rights secured to the husband under present English law. Like it or not but these laws were based on the Bible, which states   (Eph 5:23 KJV) ” For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body”

and most Evangelical pastors DO need to recognize, preach  AND PRACTICE this still too.

Beware always of men and women, bullies, tormentors, control freaks,  persons, civil and public servants,  politicians, pastors, leaders, elders, who falsely do, will try to enslave you, oppress you, exploit you even while they claim they are proclaiming the truth, democracy, trying to help you, etc.,

Is 51:23 ..your tormentors {and} oppressors, those who said to you, Bow down, that we may ride {or} tread over you; and you have made your back like the ground and like the street for them to pass over.

It has been also my experience that when you stand up for God, his truths, Satan immediate will oppose it..  (Mat 16:23 KJV)  But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men. 24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

(Micah 3:6 KJV)  Therefore night shall be unto you, that ye shall not have a vision; and it shall be dark unto you, that ye shall not divine; and the sun shall go down over the prophets, and the day shall be dark over them. 7  Then shall the seers be ashamed, and the diviners confounded: yea, they shall all cover their lips; for there is no answer of God. 8 But truly I am full of power by the spirit of the LORD, and of judgment, and of might, to declare unto Jacob his transgression, and to Israel his sin.

Misapplications of the Laws in Canada

Thanks to the too often inadequate, pretentious justice ministers  indeed,  to date, very few valid, major legal reforms have taken place. They rather seem all to have been piecemeal and poorly  coordinated between the princes and territories too, now moreover  this all has  led to the implementation of such a fragmented, poor,   unpredictable legal, justice systems.

Jer 1:5 Before I formed you in the womb I knew [and] approved of you [as My chosen instrument], and before you were born I separated {and} set you apart, consecrating you; [and] I appointed you as a prophet to the nations. …  7 But the Lord said to me, Say not, I am only a youth; for you shall go to all to whom I shall send you, and whatever I command you, you shall speak.  8 Be not afraid of them [their faces], for I am with you to deliver you, says the Lord.  9 Then the Lord put forth His hand and touched my mouth. And the Lord said to me, Behold, I have put My words in your mouth.  10 See, I have this day appointed you to the oversight of the nations and of the kingdoms to root out and pull down, to destroy and to overthrow, to build and to plant.

Jer 1:17 But you gird up your loins! Arise and tell them all that I command you. Do not be dismayed {and} break down at the sight of their faces, lest I confound you before them {and} permit you to be overcome.  18 For I, behold, I have made you this day a fortified city and an iron pillar and bronze walls against the whole land–against the [successive] kings of Judah, against its princes, against its priests, and against the people of the land [giving you divine strength which no hostile power can overcome].  19 And they shall fight against you, but they shall not [finally] prevail against you, for I am with you, says the Lord, to deliver you.

Jer 2:8 [Even] the priests did not say, Where is the Lord? And those who handle the law   knew Me not. The rulers {and} secular shepherds also transgressed against Me, and the prophets prophesied by [the authority and in the name of] Baal and followed after things that do not profit.

Matt 23:23 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, pretenders (hypocrites)! For you give a tenth of your mint and dill and cummin, and have neglected {and} omitted the weightier (more important) matters of the Law–right {and} justice and mercy and fidelity. These you ought [particularly] to have done, without neglecting the others.

Here just for a start is what I have noted about the laws in Canada and their applications now too the last half century too.

In the application of justice the law Justice itself now is be be blind, for it is to be  impartial, uniformly applied too, fair, just, honest, but that now often is not the case still too.

Anyone who firstly believes that there is solely true Justice in all parts of  Canada is basically an ignorant Ostrich or a  fool, for still there are all kinds of ways, means, places where the laws now are still inadequately regulated, poorly and inadequately applied, enforced, carried out, and even where false partiality and false discrimination is now being applied too…. for just one example revenue generating traffic tickets seem to get too much police attentions too often  as we all seem to know, not the bad drivers, drunk drivers. Many laws are still underfunded and some still overfunded..

Canadian laws and related sentences, punishments,  are not even uniform even across Canada but now are subject to varying, and different provincial jurisdictions, and varying standards too, where each province, territories  gives it’s own distinct preferential observances, enforcement, different sentences for,  of the specific laws even.

Even the police themselves do too often falsely  discriminate, in the applications of the laws too, for   they do and can pick and chose what laws they will enforce and which ones they will not, and chose even as to whom they will prosecute and whom they will not. They falsely and undeniably  like to mainly listen to the person who has the biggest political influence, outcome on their pensions, salaries firstly, even their political masters. Some groups, persons, Corporations,  laws   thus still get disproportionate attention, preferential treatments.. discriminations against natives, black, ethnic persons, cultural profiling is still being carried out too by even police officers and Judges ehh?

Too many persons who enforce the always now  they themselves wrongfully think that they are above keeping the laws, and wrongfully believe that they are exempt from any prosecutions of the wrong doings, and we see these poor unacceptable attitudes, behavior often,  amongst the  poor civil , public servants, bad police, bad RCMP included. Not enough of these too often bad guys now are really sent rightfully to jail still too. This too is always unacceptable still. For  one example here.. We all seem to know bad cops tend to mostly get away with their bad acts, they are cover-up, hushed, denied too often still too. Self regulations often tends to be just masturbation, not real justice.

The laws, justice system gives preferential treatment, advantages to liars, perjurers, when we can easily see that the Queen’s courts as well rarely prosecute perjury in the courts by lawyers, spouses, witnesses, etc.. When was the last time you heard the judge arrest a pretender, crooked lawyers for lying to the courts, or someone else?  after all we tend to know that the average person still lies , exaggerates at least one every 5 minutes. It seems even in the courts the person now who  hires the best liar, or lies the best can win.. even police officers do lie unprosecuted too often.

Speaking of false partiality of the Courts, and the Canadian federal government itself  has left the internet unregulated..  at least in part only.. we know that child molesters, child pornography on internet in Canada can be and are often rightfully prosecuted, and that some internet bullies are now being rightfully prosecuted by some provincial human rights commissions, even by some of the courts for slander, abuse  now too.. But not all of the the  human rights, verbal abusers even now  are being adequately dealt with too, nor the internet service providers who lie, are clearly now guilty of being abusive, falsely restrictive, censorship, privacy invasions, guilty false misleading advertising, restrictive business practices, bait and switch approach are not being fully dealt with and this is unacceptable, a falsely discriminatory practice  that now still always too and needs to be fully dealt with too.

Group representing 220,000 teachers votes for criminalizing cyberbullying The Canadian Press – Sat Jul 12, 5:56 PM MONCTON, N.B. – Delegates representing 220,000 teachers across the country have unanimously voted in favour of pushing to make cyberbullying a criminal offence.

Hey I have known for years that the big bad boys hate me, curse me, for telling the whole truth even about them on the net.. someone has to do it.  I do not need  a gun to solve this problem too, for the pen is mighier than the sword.

Laying of hands, Impartation, Breathe of the Spirit, Anointings, Anointed

Filed under: Uncategorized — Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , — thenonconformer @ 10:28 am

Fresh HOLY SPIRIT ANOINTINGS   That’s the Full gospel of Christ. That’s the gospel of the “Anointed One and His Anointing!”   (Acts 10:38 KJV)  How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

We are “a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light” (1 Peter 2:9).

Christians are now the chosen ones, the anointed ones. We lay hands on the sick now, just like He did, and they recover. We cast out devils. We speak the Word of God  and set the captives free!

(Acts 1:8 KJV)  But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

(Acts 3:12 KJV)  And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk?

(Acts 4:33 KJV)  And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.

Moat professing Christians still do not know that  there is a anointing and it is available for them still too.Jesus isn’t the only One anointed anymore! It was never God’s intention to simply anoint Jesus with His power and leave it at that. God on one man was not enough!

The Old Covenant prophets had the anointing on them and  today all Christians can have the anoining of the holy Spirit. “But my horn shalt thou exalt like the horn of an unicorn: I shall be anointed with fresh oil.” Psalms 92:10   But offended attitude and unbelief short-circuits it.  Jesus was anointed at Nazareth. He said so. He also had such a strong desire to minister to the people that He laid hands on them to recive his anoining. Nobody received much, however. Their offended, unbelieving hearts kept the Holy anointing from getting through to them. Being offended or in unbelief  is a resistor to the flowing of God’s powerand stops the flow of the anointing . Are you a resitor?

Are you in need of a fresh beginning? The LORD specializes and delights in giving fresh, clear, and clean beginnings (Isaiah 54:7; 61:3; Ezekiel 36:36b; Luke 4:18; 15:1-31).   “To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.” Isaiah 61:3

When God asks me to lay my anointed hands, anointed by the Holy Spirit ,  on someone it is to pray for them to be healed, as well as for them also to receive additional holy spirit’s help. spiritual gifts too.. whether someone’s hand get’ hot in the process is immaterial now too.. it is a all a work of faith in Obedience to God’s will, instructions still too.

There is a definite personal, unacceptable DISPENSATIONAL trend  amongst many fundamental Evangelicals, and some Pentecostals to falsely try to discredit the present involvement of GOD HIMSELF INTO HUMAN AFFAIRS, HUMAN ACTIVITIES. This false attempt to limit God’s present earthly activities is not only demonically inspired, but it is a false attempt to cover-up the existing personal inadequacies of many of the so called professing Christians who clearly to date are really only not still not fully Holy Spirit filled, anointed, even as a direct result of the fact they are living a self centered life, have not died to Jesus Christ, are not anointed, are basically not servants of God, are not serving God, but they really have not made Jesus Lord of their whole life too. One can see evidence of such persons by the actual definition of the term Christian  itself, One group tries to define all Christians as merely  anyone who is a follower of Christ, whereas the other groups defines a Christian as one in whom one can see the fruits, works, the evidence of the anointing of Christ based on acts 10:38  (Acts 10:38 KJV)  How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him. 39 And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a tree:

(Gal 1:8 KJV)  But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

Come, Lord Jesus, and fill these people full of the Holy Spirit.

In 1 Corinthians 12 Paul lists out these gifts.  Any Spirit-filled Christian can eventually manifest or release any of these gifts as the Holy Spirit directs him.

Word of Wisdom – God’s supernatural perspective on how to achieve His will. God’s knowledge rightly applied to specific situations. Word of Knowledge – “Facts” given by God that are unknowable without revelation.
The Gift of Faith – The supernatural ability to believe God without doubt. Essential to the Gift of Healing and Miracles.
The Gift of Healing – Supernatural healing through special anointing of the Holy Spirit.
The Working of Miracles – A supernatural display of power that goes beyond the natural to counteract earthly and evil forces.
Discerning of Spirits – Spiritual insight into differences between the Holy Spirit, the the spirit of Man, and evil spirits at work in the earth.  It is not the discerning of character faults.
The Gift of Prophecy – The forth-telling of God’s utterance.  It is not of the intellect but of the Spirit.  It is divinely inspired and anointed words spoken by a believer.
Kinds of Tongues – This is not to be confused with the use of tongues in private prayer or worship.  This refers to the ministry of tongues to others.  An utterance from a believer to another in a language unknown to the speaker. (Isaiah 28:11; Mark 16:17; Acts 2:4; 10:44-48; 19:1-7; 1 Corinthians 12:10; 13:1-3; 14:2,4-22,26-31; 28:31)
Interpretation of Tongues – Supernatural power to reveal the meaning of tongues.  Not a translation, but an interpretation.  Tongues and Interpretation working together can be the equivalent of prophecy.
The working of these nine Gifts is for the profit and advantage of the Church.  They are for the benefit of the Church and are specifically available to every believer as the Holy Spirit wills. (1Corinthians 12:7-11; 14:12).  They should all be actively welcomed and expected in your life. (1Corinthians 14:1)

.
HOW MANY Spiritual, GIFTS from God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit DO WE GET? With the expection of speaking in toungues, which is a Baptism of the Holy Spirt evidence sign,   it depends on how we will next  use them too?

.
The Holy Spirit distributes His gifts to each believer severally as He wills. (1 Corinthians 12:11)  It is not up to us how many gifts we want or are willing to use but up to the Holy Spirit to give whatever He wants to whoever He wants whenever He wants.  It is up to us to appreciate all of them and to allow the Holy Spirit to use us in any of them to minister to others.

.
The Baptism of the Holy Spirit is God’s way of empowering us to manifest His love to His Church and to cleanse us and make us holy.  We need therefore to acknowledge that love is necessary for the proper use of the Gifts – faith works by love.(Galations 5:6)  Love edifies others (1Corinthians 8:1) as God has shown His love for you by giving you faith to believe in and trust in and cling to and rely on Jesus.  Repent of anything that would hold you back from experiencing and walking in His fullness through the Baptism in the Holy Spirit.  Ask Him for it.  Receive it.  Freely it has been given to you – now freely give. (Matthew 10:8)

.

And we are witnesses of these things; and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey Him.  Acts 5:32
.
(1 John 1:3 KJV)  That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.
.
My serious interest on the subject of the Holy Spirit started at an early age, around the time I was 25, even cause I had asked my evangelical Baptist Church pastor if there was such thing today as empowering from God to live the Christian life.. when he replied no, and  because sadly I knew he basically was not to be trusted I decided that  I should look more seriously into the topic,  so I stared to read many   Books, and the Bible on the subject of the Holy Sprit next. When I next read the testimonies of others, it was clearly evident, undeniable  that some Christians  had experienced dramatic changes in heir personal life as a result of knowing Christ, and being filled with the holy spirit, even more dramatically than others too. Why the difference. And as I continued my study it became very evident that not everyone who professed to be a Christian, pastors, elders included were even firstly Christians. Imagine that church pastors were falsely still even reading clearly secular books to know more about God. It also became clear that many professing Christians were not serving God, but doing their own thing, serving themselves, or were trying to please others, mere men and women, or their denominations too. We have more perversion than power, more compromise than conviction and more playboys in the pulpit than prophets.  Because of their own sinful nature, human limitations next  falsely Men still try to limit God today as to what he God can and cannot do today with His Holy Spirit now as well by next their own false obstructions, confusions, distortions, over simplifications,  lies too. Me too there was a time in my life when I thought I was now saved and I had it all, but that was certainly not true. But man still cannot prevail against God, the light, the truth ever.  There is power available to you also to personally to overcome: disease, despair, defeat, sickness, sin and Satan! You can now have power over every attack of the devil! And I ask right now, Come, Lord Jesus, and fill these people full of the Holy Spirit.Isaiah 10:27: And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.
.

How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; .Acts 10:28 ..Acts 1:8 says, “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon …

(Luke 2:26 KJV)  And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord’s Christ.

(2 Pet 1:21 KJV)  For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

(2 Pet 3:2 KJV)  That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:

(2 Tim 1:14 KJV)  That good thing which was committed unto thee keep by the Holy Ghost which dwelleth in us.

(Isa 4:4 KJV)  When the Lord shall have washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion, and shall have purged the blood of Jerusalem from the midst thereof by the spirit of judgment, and by the spirit of burning.

(Micah 3:8 KJV)  But truly I am full of power by the spirit of the LORD, and of judgment, and of might, to declare unto Jacob his transgression, and to Israel his sin.

(Mat 12:28 KJV)  But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.

(Luke 4:1 KJV)  And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness,

(Rom 8:14 KJV)  For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

(1 Cor 6:11 KJV)  And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

(1 Cor 12:8 KJV)  For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;

(2 Cor 3:18 KJV)  But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

(1 Pet 3:18 KJV)  For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:

(1 Matt 3:24 KJV)  And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.

(1 John 3:21 KJV)   I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire: 2  Whose fan is in his hand, and he will thoroughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.

(Rev 3:15 KJV)  I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. 16  So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.

In fact it became evident not just in the Catholic, Orthodox Churches but even in Christian Plymouth Brethren, Baptist, Alliance and Pentecostal churches now too that in some professing persons, pastors, elders, deacons too,  there still was no difference in behavior between the professing Christian person and the typical unbeliever, unchristian persons. Many so called Christians it became clear also to me they did not have a definite experiences where they had made Jesus Christ the sole Lord of their life, as next even a Christian Missionary Alliance church pastor had admitted to me. Now if many pastors were not preaching, living the empowered Christian Life how could the rest of the flock be aware of it as well? So I next talked to many many more pastors, and discovered many of them did not use or know the Bible in evangelical churches, but firstly they did not have a definite experience where they knew that God had even called them into the ministry. They became pastors by their own choice and were rather too often mere “hirelings”, in the Job merely as as any other person is in a secular career. It next also amazed me how many writers, preachers claimed to be experts on the Baptism of the Holy spirit, the anointing,  when they had even admitted that they had never experienced it themselves.. ridiculous, and so how can you be an expert on something you have never experienced too? Many people it seems still can be easily deceived by the devil that they are following and doing God’s will when they clearly now are not. There is much too much filthy manna, begging and stealing money now associated with Christians and why? They Cleary are no living the real anointed life but doing their on selfish thing still too. Many professing Christians , pastors recognize their lack of holy sprit in their life, but instead of honestly confronting the reason why they next lie and say that the miracles ended when the last disciple died. When the Bible was finished being written. It was a temporary empowering.  When Jesus was on the Cross He cried out, “It is finished!”

(Heb 13:8 KJV)  Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.  is alive today.. and he can be alive today in you and me too.  And John 4:4 states, “Greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.”

Well I got good news for you but power of the cross, the anointing, it was not over rather the posited it was just the beginning  Jesus vetoed sin and the crucifixion with His  resurrection by the Holy sprit, and then Jesus next  gave a tag team hand off to the Holy Ghost to all others. The same anointing of Holy Ghost power that gave Jesus the power to overcome Satan’s power, temptation!! The Holy Ghost power and anointing can be yours, today!! This is the source of power to overcome Satan everyday of your life if you continue to follow after God, to obey and do his will daily. If you rebel from God do not expect this anointing to be of help to you. You need to willfully continue to walk humbly in the light, in Jesus himself still too. And if you let God do it, he will empower, equip you to do his will, equip you uniquely for service to him like he has done to many others. When Jesus was being tried in Pilate’s court, Peter denied knowing Jesus three times. He didn’t have enough courage to even say that he knew Jesus. let alone be His witness, but after the Holy Ghost fell on the 120 at Pentecost. What a difference!! The first sermon Peter preached, 3000 were converted. You can have this kind of power now in your life. Yes it’s free for the asking humbly to all who already do believe and are baptized in Jesus as both their Savior and Lord. You are free to live the empowered life if you daily choose to do so, or you can next even daily choose to walk merely in your own sinful thing, in the flesh.

Perhaps you still do feel you are not worthy to receive this power. Possibly some  have told you that this power is not for today. Or  you feel overcome by the pressures of life and don’t know how to ask for the power of the Holy Ghost to take over your life.  Right now that all you need to do is simply to humbly ask God even again. The Bible says, “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning” (James 1:17). It is His desire that you receive everything He has for you! Tthe Bible declares it to be so!  ” And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: And also upon the servants and upon the hand-maids in those days will I pour out my spirit” (Joel 2:28-29). It’s still for as many who call upon the name of the Lord!

(Mat 7:7 KJV)  Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:8  For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

(Luke 11:10 KJV)  For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.11  If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?12  Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?13  If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

(Gal 5:22 KJV)  But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

(Gal 5:25 KJV)  If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

John 10:37-38 “ If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not. 38 But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him.  “

(2 John 1:5 KJV)  And now I beseech thee, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment unto thee, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another.

(Luke 4:18 KJV)  The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, 19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

The anointing that the devil and his false followers do hate and oppose, lie about is this..

“And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” (Matthew 3:16-17)
.
Acts 4:10 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. 11 This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. 12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. 13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus. 14 And beholding the man which was healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it.
.
Jesus the savior of the world, also know the Messiah is Christ, translated as the anointed one both by the Jews or gentiles and he goes by no other name.. and the people who are ashamed of this Greek, anointed name are leading you to a false Jesus. Jesus as the Christ. Christ means the “Anointed One”. Jesus, however, did not become the Christ until the Holy Ghost came on Him.
.
Acts 10:38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
.
We all do need the power, the anointing of the Holy Spirit in our life. The Greek word for anointing is chrisma, from which we have the word chrism. Chrisma appears several times in 1 John 2:20 and 27. It comes from the root word, chriô, which means to rub something or someone lightly with a substance like oil or lotion. The word christos means a person so anointed and the word chrisma refers to that by which a person is anointed. John uses chrisma in these two verses, not speaking of the object being anointed but of the instrument of anointing. Additionally, we find a word christianos in Acts 11:26, which means “one belonging to the Anointed One,” just as Herodianos would mean “one who belongs to Herod.”
.
I can understand why the false Christians do not want to be associated with the name of Jesus Christ.. and the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, especially tongues, the whole Bible.. It is cause many persons like the Baptists, Plymouth Brethren, Catholics, Fundamentalists, Evangelicals, Jews, Seventh Day Adventists, Judaizers too, etc., they all still do want to live by their own Gospel, a simplified one that is still basically based on the Old Testament where you do not have to seriously repent of your sins, or be filled with the Holy Spirit for that unlike the New Testament only was for the select few
.

I could not help it but too many false persons are afraid to be known as Christians, do not want to be associated with Jesus Christ, so they use his name in vain, they use another name for Jesus even. and they often falsely do not want to be associated with Apostle Paul because he had left his Jewish heritage even.. (2 Cor 11:13 KJV) For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. 14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. 15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

(Rom 1:16 KJV) For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

.

(2 Tim 1:12 KJV) For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.

.

(Psa 127:1 KJV) Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain. 2 It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.

(Prov 3:5 KJV) Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

(Prov 3:6 KJV) In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

To be led directly by the Holy Spirit even these days is a normal Christian walk.

.

Gal 2:2 KJV And I went up by revelation, and communicated unto them that gospel which I preach among the Gentiles,

(Gal 5:25 KJV) If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

Pass it on. The Lord wants to infuse you with an anointing, by the Holy Spirit, which will propel you through every line of Satan’s defense. This is how you can overcome every situation as you receive “power from on high!” Our Lord Jesus Christ Himself was full of this power as He withstood the onslaught of the devil while fasting in the wilderness. The Bible records that John the Baptist baptized Jesus, the Lord of Glory, in the river Jordan prior to Him praying and fasting 40 days and 40 nights. At the end of this fast Satan came to Him and tempted Him in His spirit, soul and body to sin against God. But Jesus resisted Satan’s offense with the statement, “It is written!” After this, Luke 4: 14 states, And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about. If Jesus, walking as a man, needed the power of the Holy Spirit to stand against the assault of the devil, I ask you, “How much more do we need the power of the Holy Spirit?” There’s a Holy Spirit revival coming, and it’s can also be coming even through your words, through your hands and through your life!

Would you like to have God’s Holy Ghost Power in your life? If so please pray this prayer humbly. “Dear Heavenly Father. As per your promises in your word, the Bible do next baptize me with your Holy sprit, power. I accept the promise of Acts 2: 38 & 39 and the anointing power of the Holy Ghost. I ask to have the power that Apostles had received even in my life. I also do want the power to overcome Satan everyday, in all areas of life! Jesus you are my lord so by your Holy Spirit, please fill me now and take full control of my life, my body and even my tongue. Let my tongue now also give praises to God the Father and His Holy Son, Jesus in a Heavenly language. I put myself, my all under your full control. Amen!”

(Acts 1:8 KJV) But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

https://anyonecare.wordpress.com/2008/05/03/anointed-continued/

The baptism of the Holy Spirit, the gifts of the Holy spirit, the Anointing , Tongues, Prophets,  Apostles, Miracle workers, tithing now too, the promised land, the prosperity gospel have become unarguably the most overused, overworked, misunderstood, misinterpreted, contentious  terms in the news media, in the non Pentecostal and in the Non Charismatic arenas,  in the fundamental religious circles all even because many of these people are mostly still serving self, doing their own thing, looking up to mere man and not God. Most people have never even firstly had studied, read what the Bible actually says firstly, not even many preachers.

Beyond the show of a doubt the devil himself  firstly really hates any references to the Holy Spirit, the anointed ones, the idea that Christians do have now empowering to overcome the devil too… and so now the devil uses any of his followers, those in the fundamental religious circles too now, to now  lie, twist, distort the truths.  and they falsely try to say something typical like this “If you check every single Biblical reference to the Anointing you should notice that ” There is not ONE SINGLE reference to the anointing being a supernatural power given to human by which they are able to perform miracles… There is not ONE SINGLE reference to anyone being able to transmit the anointing by any means, including the laying on of hands… There is not ONE SINGLE reference to getting, keeping, increasing, or losing the anointing.”

Mind you they these same  liars do have to Tear out the whole Old Testament for a start..  the prophets were clearly anointed, and performed miracles,  and the same Jesus yesterday, today and forever who lives in us today too, who was anointed and performed miracles  he had also said that believers will do even greater things now too.  In  the reality now after all Samson next lost his anointing.. and so did King Saul lose his anointing .. and David asked God not to take away his anointing too after he had sinned with Bathsheba..

It’s the frequent and methodical strategy of those people not Holy sprit filled, those people walking in the flesh that they do bash, recite against anyone who has evidenced the Holy Spirit anointing  still too, we all can see  these false professors  own false, unscriptural doctrine and practice. It’s now a charge of  their “blasphemy of the Holy Spirit” and their disobedience of  “touch not the Lord’s anointed.”
The anointing is sacred, the anointing is the Holy Spirit, and all believers in Christ have the anointing of the Holy Spirit. We must be careful what we say about our brothers and sisters in Christ.
(Matthew 12:31 NKJV) “Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men.
(1 Chronicles 16:22-24 NKJV) Saying, “Do not touch My anointed ones, And do My prophets no harm.” {23} Sing to the LORD, all the earth; Proclaim the good news of His salvation from day to day. {24} Declare His glory among the nations, His wonders among all peoples.”

While the Antichrist and False Prophet themselves will possess the credential that they do reputedly perform miracles. While the devil does try to  counterfeit the miracles of God, those now done by Moses too, the existence of the devil and his bad works, the counterfeits now still does not nullify the present reality, existence  of God genuine gifts, miracles and real prophets, miracles workers, apostles  now too. REALITY.The anointing that the devil and his false followers do hate and  oppose, lie about is this..(Mark 16:17 KJV)  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18  They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.(Deu 18:19 KJV)  And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.(Deu 18:20 KJV)  But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die.(Psa 89:24 KJV)  But my faithfulness and my mercy shall be with him: and in my name shall his horn be exalted.(Jer 14:14 KJV)  Then the LORD said unto me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name: I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, neither spake unto them: they prophesy unto you a false vision and divination, and a thing of nought, and the deceit of their heart.(Jer 14:15 KJV)  Therefore thus saith the LORD concerning the prophets that prophesy in my name, and I sent them not, yet they say, Sword and famine shall not be in this land; By sword and famine shall those prophets be consumed.(Jer 23:25 KJV)  I have heard what the prophets said, that prophesy lies in my name, saying, I have dreamed, I have dreamed.(Jer 27:15 KJV)  For I have not sent them, saith the LORD, yet they prophesy a lie in my name; that I might drive you out, and that ye might perish, ye, and the prophets that prophesy unto you.

(Jer 29:9 KJV)  For they prophesy falsely unto you in my name: I have not sent them, saith the LORD.

(Jer 29:23 KJV)  Because they have committed villany in Israel, and have committed adultery with their neighbours’ wives, and have spoken lying words in my name, which I have not commanded them; even I know, and am a witness, saith the LORD.

(Mat 18:5 KJV)  And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me.

(Mat 18:20 KJV)  For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

(Mat 24:5 KJV)  For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

(Mark 9:37 KJV)  Whosoever shall receive one of such children in my name, receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me, receiveth not me, but him that sent me.

(Mark 9:39 KJV)  But Jesus said, Forbid him not: for there is no man which shall do a miracle in my name, that can lightly speak evil of me.

(Mark 9:41 KJV)  For whosoever shall give you a cup of water to drink in my name, because ye belong to Christ, verily I say unto you, he shall not lose his reward.

(Luke 9:48 KJV)  And said unto them, Whosoever shall receive this child in my name receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me receiveth him that sent me: for he that is least among you all, the same shall be great.

(Luke 21:8 KJV)  And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them.

(John 14:13 KJV)  And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

(John 14:14 KJV)  If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

(John 14:26 KJV)  But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

(John 15:16 KJV)  Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

(John 16:23 KJV)  And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.

(John 16:24 KJV)  Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.
(1 Cor 12:7 KJV)  But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.

(1 Cor 12:8 KJV)  For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;

(1 Cor 12:9 KJV)  To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;

(1 Cor 12:10 KJV)  To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:

(1 Cor 12:11 KJV)  But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.

To me it is so just unbelievable that any professing Christian persons  can even think of saying say that there is no special anointing  by the holy spirit and any Christian person today..

Yes the people who  are not anointed do not know what it is really like, but they are wrong to say there are no anointing by the Holy Spirit on others.

(Psa 91:11 KJV)  For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

(Prov 3:6 KJV)  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

(Ezek 16:47 KJV)  Yet hast thou not walked after their ways, nor done after their abominations: but, as if that were a very little thing, thou wast corrupted more than they in all thy ways.

I admit that I have mostly stopped hearing for years now too or reading what the supposedly Christians pastors, authors say, write because I have made a real decision  a long time ago to only listen to God, to hear him only,  and only to write that which he speaks to me  to write, for I am not here on earth to get’s man’s useless approval, or any of his money too, for only God’s blessing, approval counts anyway.

Secondly it is very clear that God know everything that I do anyway, firstly. so I too do seek to do his will in everything I do, by praying beforehand Lord what will you have me to do next?

He or she that trust mainly in  their  own wisdom understandings, or mainly in the advice of others is still basically a real fool, an unwise person.

(Psa 4:5 KJV)  Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the LORD.

(Psa 31:6 KJV)  I have hated them that regard lying vanities: but I trust in the LORD.

(Psa 37:3 KJV)  Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.

(Psa 40:3 KJV)  And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.

(Psa 73:28 KJV)  But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, that I may declare all thy works.

(Psa 115:10 KJV)  O house of Aaron, trust in the LORD: he is their help and their shield.

(Psa 115:11 KJV)  Ye that fear the LORD, trust in the LORD: he is their help and their shield.

(Psa 118:8 KJV)  It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.

(Psa 118:9 KJV)  It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes.

(Psa 125:1 KJV)  They that trust in the LORD shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever.

(Prov 3:5 KJV)  Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

(Prov 28:25 KJV)  He that is of a proud heart stirreth up strife: but he that putteth his trust in the LORD shall be made fat.

(Prov 29:25 KJV)  The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.

Sadly too many persons are guilty of the sin of presumption, doing that which seems right in their own eyes, without checking first with God if it is the right thing to do. They can’t check with God, basically cause they can’t hear him. and they can’t hear him cause they still do not really have a relationship with God, even cause they really do not spend time with him daily alone hearing him and talking to him..

(Psa 19:13 KJV)  Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.

(2 Pet 2:10 KJV)  But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.

(Deu 1:43 KJV)  So I spake unto you; and ye would not hear, but rebelled against the commandment of the LORD, and went presumptuously up into the hill.

(Deu 17:12 KJV)  And the man that will do presumptuously, and will not hearken unto the priest that standeth to minister there before the LORD thy God, or unto the judge, even that man shall die: and thou shalt put away the evil from Israel.

(Deu 17:13 KJV)  And all the people shall hear, and fear, and do no more presumptuously.

(Deu 18:22 KJV)  When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.

(Psa 4:8 KJV)  I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety

The Anointing Breaks The Yoke

“And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing“  (Isaiah 10:27).     Just because one is a Christian counselor does not make his or her counseling effective.  Just because one knows the principles of the Word does not make his or her counseling effective.   Just because one is a dynamic or charismatic counselor does not make his or her ministry effective.  Education, knowledge, and experience are important, but none of these make one’s ministry effective in the kingdom.

.
“Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, saith the LORD of hosts” (Zechariah 4:6).   The word “might” means strength, wealth, or force.  The word for “power” refers to human ability.  The answer is the anointing!

.

The prophecy found in Isaiah 10:27 is a prophecy concerning the coming of Jesus and the anointing which is to rest upon him. Isaiah 11:2 gives us further insight.  “And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD“  (Isaiah 11:2).  Here we see the seven facets of the Spirit of God:
1. The Spirit of the LORD.
2. The Spirit of wisdom.
3. The Spirit of understanding.
4. The Spirit of counsel.
5. The Spirit of might.
6. The Spirit of knowledge.
7. The Spirit of the fear of the LORD.
.
Isaiah later gives even more explanation concerning the prophecy.  “The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;    To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;    To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified“  (Isaiah 61:1-3).     When we come to the New Testament, we see Jesus applying the Scripture to himself.  “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,    To preach the acceptable year of the Lord“  (Luke 4:18-19).  Luke in the book of Acts also explains, “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him“  (Acts 10:38).
.
Again, it is the anointing that breaks the yoke!  Human wisdom can not heal emotional wounds.  Human knowledge can not set free those who are spiritually bound.  Traditions and church rituals can’t cast out a demonic spirit.  Human whit can not restore those who have emotional bruises (blows to his or her identity).  However, the anointing that was on Jesus can heal all those who have been oppressed of the devil. “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him” (Acts 10:38).
.
We should understand that the ANOINTING did not cease when Jesus ascended into Heaven.  Joel prophesied concerning the anointing.  “And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit” (Joel 2:28-29).  Please note the expression “all flesh” which means that is available to all Believers.
.
The door to the anointing is open to all Believers, male and female, both young and old. “And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him“  (Acts 5:32).  Jesus told the Believers right before he ascended, “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth” (Acts 1:8).   Sure enough, the anointing came on the day of Pentecost.   “And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance” (Acts 2:4).
.
Here are several other examples of the anointing.  “And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness” (Acts 4:31).  This occurred some time after the outpouring on Pentecost. Paul wrote, “Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God“  (II.  Corinthians 1:21).  Again see the anointing, “And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people” (Acts 6:8).   Stephen was not an apostle, but rather a faithful deacon. James wrote “Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord“  (James 5:14).  Church elders should have the anointing.  However, it should not be limited to those is full-time ministry.
.
If you are a Believer, you need the anointing to minister!  Every Believer should ASK for the anointing.  “If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?” (Luke 11:13).  However, yesterday’s anointing is not sufficient for today, nor today’s anointing sufficient for tomorrow.  We should seek to be anointed daily, even twice daily.    “And Aaron shall burn thereon sweet incense every morning: when he dresseth the lamps, he shall burn incense upon it.   And when Aaron lighteth the lamps at even, he shall burn incense upon it, a perpetual incense before the LORD throughout your generations” (Exodus 30:7-8).  The lamps were to be filled twice daily, once in the morning and once in the evening.
Remember, it is the anointing that breaks the yoke!  Now, some will declare that since they are already Believers that automatically gives them the anointing.  However, there is a big difference in the earnest of the Spirit and the fullness of the Spirit.  “That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.  In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,   Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory” (Ephesians 1:12-14).  This speaks to the “earnest” of the Spirit that one receives at the time of the rebirth which is an earnest of his inheritance. “Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts” (II Corinthians 1:22).   “Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit” (II Corinthians 5:5).    However, now look at how Paul prays for these Believers who already have the earnest of the Spirit.  “Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints,  Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,  And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,  Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,  Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: ” (Ephesians 1:15-21).  Paul is praying for these Christians to be anointed with the HOLY SPIRIT of wisdom and revelation.  This can be directly cross referenced to, “And the Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD” (Isaiah 11:2).  Since both passages refer to the HOLY SPIRIT the word “spirit” should be capitalized as I have indicated.
.

So what are the different facets of the Anointing?  There are many; however, one of the main purposes is to reveal our inheritance in Christ.  “Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual” (I Corinthians 2:12-13).  “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.   He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.    He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you” (John 16:13-15).  It is absolutely amazing how the Holy Spirit shows the extent of our inheritance in Christ to those who will receive the anointing.     Another purpose is that the Holy Spirit may become our spiritual teacher and to bring to our memory also what He has taught us.  “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you” (John 14:26).  I can be counseling or witnessing to someone and the Holy Spirit can bring to mind a Scripture or truth from Scripture to me which I have not thought of in years.

.
The Holy Spirit also will give greater insights about Jesus to those who receive the anointing.  “But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:” (John 15:26).

.

One primary purpose of the anointing of the Holy Spirit is that one may be a witness unto Christ. One is not just to be a his witness, witness about Jesus, or witness for him, but to witness UNTO him.  “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth” (Acts 1:8).   This means that when others see the person who is anointed with the Holy Spirit, they should be seeing Jesus.
The anointing will also bring conviction to the “world” through the Believer.    “Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.    And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:    Of sin, because they believe not on me;    Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;    Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged“  (John 16:7-11).  The word “reprove” is demonstrated when the prosecuting attorney brings proof into the court that the crime has been committed by the defendant.  http://www.wholeperson-counseling.org/doctrine/anointing_breaks.html
.
I am sure that even non Pentecostals, non charismatic Christians will have  to agree with me when I say that the spiritual gift we all need to seek too  now is the gift of prophecy.. Prophecy is not merely foretelling always  future events,, it is mainly conveying God present words, confirming God’s  direction.”Surely the Lord God does nothing, unless He reveals His secret to His  servants the prophets.  A lion has roared! Who will not fear?  The Lord God  has spoken!  Who can but prophesy?”  Amos 3:7,8 (Rev 19:10 KJV)  And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me,  See thou do it not: I am thy fellow servant, and of thy brethren that have  the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the  spirit of prophecy. All Prophecy always exalts the Lord Jesus Christ and not any man, person,  denomination..(2 Pet 1:20 KJV)  Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is  of any private interpretation. 21  For the prophecy came not in old time by  the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy  Ghost.(2 Pet 2:1 KJV)  But there were false prophets also among the people, even  as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in  damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon  themselves swift destruction. 2  And many shall follow their pernicious  ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. 3  And  through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you:  whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation  slumbereth not.(Jer 2:8 KJV)  The priests said not, Where is the LORD? and they that handle  the law knew me not: the pastors also transgressed against me, and the  prophets prophesied by Baal, and walked after things that do not profit.
.
Prophecy is expressing the deep inner feelings, voice of the Holy Spirit to  this generation.  Prophecy as stated in the New Testament  clearly here,  requires next no new redefinitions, it is the “edification” through the  interpretations of  the language of the Holy Spirit into English for example  for the benefit of others and ourselves too.
.
(1 Cor 14:13 KJV)  Wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown tongue pray  that he may interpret. (And no exceptions now too)
.
Sadly some people want to wrongfully exalt “speaking in tongues” over  prophecy.. too bad for them.. and they thus do try to misinterpret what  prophecy still is.. rather know and  read the Word first and not their views…
(Rom 12:6 KJV)  Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is  given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion  of faith;
(1 Cor 12:10 KJV)  To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy;  to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to  another the interpretation of tongues:
(1 Cor 13:2 KJV)  And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all  mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could  remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
2 Pet 1:19 – 21, 2:1 – 3, “We have also a more sure word of prophecy;  whereunto you do well that you take heed, as unto a light that shines in a  dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:  Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private  interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man:  but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. But there  were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false  teachers among you, who privately shall bring in damnable heresies, even  denying Jesus that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.  And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of  truth shall be evil spoken of. And through covetousness shall they with  feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time  lingers not, and their damnation slumbers not.”
.
Clearly one of the unique, great, valid emphasis of the Pentecostals from  the other denominations is also their emphasis on personally hearing God  speak. even personally and collectively speaking to us, verbally  individually or in a collective setting by prophecy.
.
(1 Cor 14:26 KJV)  How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every  one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying. 27  If any man  speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and  that by course; and let one interpret. 28  But if there be no interpreter,  let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to  God. 29  Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge. 30 If  any thing be revealed to another that sitteth by, let the first hold his  peace. 31  For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all  may be comforted. 32  And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the  prophets. 33  For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.
(Rom 12:1 KJV)  I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God,  that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God,  which is your reasonable service.
(Rom 12:2 KJV)  And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by  the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and  acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
(Psa 119:9 KJV)   Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking  heed thereto according to thy word.
(
(Gal 6:7 KJV)  Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man  soweth, that shall he also reap.
(Gal 6:8 KJV)  For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap  corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life  everlasting.
(Gal 6:9 KJV)  And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we  shall reap, if we faint not.
(Gal 6:10 KJV)  As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all  men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.
The question about the existence today of  the gift of Prophecy and other  Holy Spirit gifts are very common.. yet still the answers differ so much.  And why?
(2 Tim 2:15 KJV)  Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that  needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 16 But shun  profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness. 17  And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus;
It also still amazes me how some people are so ready to claim they are  right, even experts, on a subject they have never experienced even, such as  the people who do not at all claim now to be a prophet, and/or do not claim  they speak in tongues, and/or do not claim they prophecy and yet they next  still will try to claim now even to write authoritatively on any of it…..  sure, sure! They firstly all mostly have already lost my respect, and their  credibility.
(Eph 5:11 KJV)  And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of  darkness, but rather reprove them.12   For it is a shame even to speak of  those things which are done of them in secret. 13 But all things that are  reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest  is light.
(1 Pet 4:17 KJV)  For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house  of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey  not the gospel of God? 18 And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where  shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?
(Luke 19:46 KJV)  Saying unto them, It is written, My house is the house of  prayer: but ye have made it a den of thieves.
(Mal 3:8 KJV)  Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say,  Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings. 9  Ye are cursed with  a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation.10   Bring ye all the  tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove  me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows  of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough  to receive it.
  .
Malachi was specifically firstly written to the Levites, the priests, the  pastors, and they are they ones accused of the wrong doings firstly here too not dealing with the tithe properly. Jesus began his ministry in the sole  Temple too with a whip..
.
Next firstly also note this recent relgious US southern Baptist editorial  about the…  “Five things that can cripple a church By J. Gerald Harris,  Editor Published March 16, 2006// First, there is the problem of a scandalous leadership. ( past Liberals  included). Second, there is the problem of a discordant member ( Constituent  members) I am speaking of the person who is born in the objective mood and negative case – the person who is never happy with what happens in the  church and actually creates dissention.  In Proverbs 6:16-19 the Bible actually tells us that there are some things that God hates or considers an  abomination and one thing God despises is the person who sows seeds of  discord among the brethren.  . Third, there is the problem of apathy. ( too many Canadian ostriches not  dealing with  the wrongs of others)  Vance Havner said, “We have anarchy in  the world, apostasy in the professing church and apathy in the true church.”  An indifferent, indolent, lukewarm church nauseates God and renders the  church helpless and ineffective. . Too many churches have too many people  who just don’t want to get involved. Such apathy cripples the cause of   Christ and paralyzes the effort to build healthy kingdom churches. Fourth,  there is the problem of inflexibility. ( Stubbornness and Laziness are often  the main factor behind this too) Some churches do not grow because the  members are so unwilling to change, so unyielding, so set in their ways. Fifth, there is the problem of purposelessness. ( One’s wrong goals lead to  a larger personal void..) One church put a sign on their church door in 1963 that stated, “Gone out of business. Didn’t know what our business was.”” It  might have been unintentional but quite revealing anyway that this above  editorial wrongfully too  did not include anything about tithing, money,  helping the poor and needy persons., the negelct of which something that  really cripples a church too, and note this  seems to applies to most of the  churches, Baptist, Pentecostal etc.,
.
1: Besides the fact of a clear lack of love  for others and God, the main factor  that firstly clearly cripple any church or a Christian are lack of personal  daily prayer by the pastors, deacons, elders, lay persons. All Pastors  should at least pray and read their bibles one hour a day.. and most  Christians still do not read or pray 5 minutes of day. 2: I know for a fact also that  Robbing God of his tithes, misappropriating  them and denying the poor their portion of the tithes devastates any  Christian or  church as well.
.
There is also no question that most Christian churches even today , the  leaders and the people do people abuse the tithes, ( giving to God 10%  percent of one’s total income) the evangelical churches and pastors  included, and they do also steal from the tithes by not giving the local  poor people in their local church their applicable portion of the tithe. All  churches should be doing this good work of giving to the poor people too if  they actually practiced honestly the laws of tithing set forth in the Bible.
.
(Luke 16:9 KJV)  And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends of the  mammon of unrighteousness; that, when ye fail, they may receive you into  everlasting habitations. 10   He that is faithful in that which is least is  faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in  much. 11  If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon,  who will commit to your trust the true riches? 12   And if ye have not been  faithful in that which is another man’s, who shall give you that which is  your own? 13   No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the  one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the  other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
.
Furthermore the Old Testament Levites, and the poor persons who could enjoy  the benefits of the tithes they did not own  or could not own any land, or a  house.  The Lord God  stated that the Levites would have no inheritance of  land but would be given a portion of the tithe instead. Such an injunction would also apply today to anyone claiming a right to a tithe too.
.
Numbers 18:20 (NIV) 20 The LORD said to Aaron, “You will have no inheritance  in their land, nor will you have any share among them; I am your share and  your inheritance among the Israelites..By the way the last 20 years of ministry I have never taken an offering,  asked for a donation or asked for any money too for myself. I trust God to supply what I need and how he wants to do it as well.  Do see  http://pbulow.tripod.com/richpoor.html   http://pbulow.tripod.com/tithing.html  I do not do good’s work for price or reward but because I was told to do it solely..
.
Now (2 Pet 1:19 KJV)  We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto  ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place,  until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: 20 Knowing this  first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. 21   For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of  God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.  (1 Cor 14:31 KJV)  For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn,  and all may be comforted.
  .
I agree that a true “prophet” is someone who speaks the words of God to His  people… or to all of the people. . ” And I will be with your mouth and  with his mouth, and I will teach you what you shall do. So he shall be your  spokesman to the people. And he himself shall be as a mouth for you, and you  shall be to him as God…So the Lord said to Moses: See, I have made you as  God to Pharoah, and Aaron your brother shall be your prophet.” (Ex. 4:15;  7:1).

THE EARLY CHURCH VIEW  IN REGARD TO THE PROPHETS AND PROPHECYJoel 2:28  “…Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy…” (1 Cor 14:39  KJV)  Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with  tongues. 40 Let all things be done decently and in order. Not everyone who gives a prophecy in the church now is a “Prophet”, now has  been set aside by God to function as a Prophet in the local church..  for  Paul writes, “But if anything is revealed to another who sits by, let the  first keep silent. For you can all prophesy one by one, and all may be  encouraged” (1 Cor. 14: 30, 31).” We know that following the day of Pentecost, there was a proliferation of  prophetic activity in the early church. “Your sons and your daughters shall  prophesy…” provides evidence of the pouring out of the Holy Spirit.  Pastors, Teachers, Evangelists, Apostles Prophets and all prophecies still  must be tested. Paul exhorts, “Do not despise prophecies. Test all things;  hold fast what is good” (1 Thess. 5:20, 21). The Corinthian church is told,  “Let two or three prophets speak, and let the others judge” (1 Cor. 14:29).  John adds, “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits,  whether they are of God…every spirit that does not confess that Jesus  Christ has come in the flesh is not of God” (1 John 4:1-3). Two or three prophets should speak at one time, and that one at a time and  everyone can wait their turn to prophesy.  Paul even tells the Corinthian  believers to seek the spiritual gift of prophecy as if it was fairly  commonly available, in the process he contrasts it with the gift of tongues.  (1 Corinthians 14:1-5 NASB) Pursue love, yet desire earnestly spiritual  gifts, but especially that you may prophesy. {2} For one who speaks in a  tongue does not speak to men, but to God; for no one understands, but in his   spirit he speaks mysteries. {3} But one who prophesies speaks to men for  edification and exhortation and consolation. {4} One who speaks in a tongue  edifies himself; but one who prophesies edifies the church. {5}Now I wish  that you all spoke in tongues, but even more that you would prophesy; and  greater is one who prophesies than one who speaks in tongues, unless he  interprets, so that the church may receive edifying.
.
Abundant Prophecy So  ‘don’t despise prophetic utterances’ and “hold to what  is good, reject what is evil” in regard to NT prophecy. ( 1 Corinthians  14:29, 1 Thessalonians 5:20,21).The New testament prophets encouraged and exhorted the local congregations, predicted famines and they even tried to keep Apostle Paul in line. While some of the Old and New Testament prophets were given full awe and respect they all  were also still evaluated.(1 Corinthians 14:24-25 NASB) But if all prophesy, and an unbeliever or an ungifted man enters, he is convicted by all, he is called to account by all;  {25} the secrets of his heart are disclosed; and so he will fall on his face  and worship God, declaring that God is certainly among you.The NT prophet too, inspired by God, uncovers the secrets of the unbelievers  heart so that some of them, but not all of them, falls on their face in repentance and worship God.The role of the prophet is also to edify the church with words of  exhortation and consolation. (1 Corinthians 14:3-4 NASB) But one who  prophesies speaks to men for edification and exhortation and consolation.  {4} One who speaks in a tongue edifies himself; but one who prophesies  edifies the church. In contrast to the personal prayer tongues public prophecy ministers to  people generally. It is other-centered. It builds up the body of Christ which is why Paul valued it so highly. (Acts 15:32-33 NASB) And Judas and  Silas, also being prophets themselves, encouraged and strengthened the  brethren with a lengthy message. {33} And after they had spent time there,  they were sent away from the brethren in peace to those who had sent them  out.

.

(1 Timothy 4:14 NASB) Do not neglect the spiritual gift within you, which  was bestowed upon you through prophetic utterance with the laying on of  hands by the presbytery.

.
While all can prophecy, Not all who prophesy are still prophets. Many  Christians prophesied but the office of prophet that was next to that of  apostle and was a gifted one and a full-time ministry. Paul also says  bluntly “not all are prophets” ( 1 Cor 12:28-31) but this seems to imply  that the gift of prophecy can be sought by most Christians. (1 Cor 14:1-5)  Phillip the evangelist had four virgin daughters who prophesied but they are  not called prophets. (Acts 21:9) Women prophesied in Corinthians but were  explicitly not to be given authority in the Corinthian church. ( 1  Corinthians 11:3-5, 14:34,35) Women who prophesied in that church were not  given the office of prophet in the church still too.  NT prophecy too was  not infallible but had to be judged by others (1 Cor 14:29) was sometimes a  mixture of good and bad (1 Thess 5:21) and was such that it could even be  despised -(1 Thess 5:20).  NT Prophecy is still also for the building up of  the church not for the personal domination of individual believers by any of the “prophets”. You still do have a choice and have freedom to disregard  even the best prophets as Paul disregarded Agabus and went on to Jerusalem.  (Acts 21:10-14)  NT prophecy  was very much grounded in edifying God’s  people for the immediate task at hand and imparting wisdom and spiritual  gifts.  In the NT God has created His church to be a Spirit-indwelt  community that directly receives revelation from Him (1 Cor 2:9-16, 1 John 2:10,27). The receiving of such revelation and passing it on to the   community is the role of those who prophesy. All such revelation still needs  to be properly discerned and tested.   NT prophecy has more to do with God’s  will in the present moment and glorifying Him in worship. There are very  significant differences between OT prophecy and NT prophecy and we cannot  use the OT model as the normative for the NT phenomena.

.

Apostle  Paul instructs us all when he says , “Let two or three prophets  speak, and let the others judge.” (1 Cor 14:39 KJV)  Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to  speak with tongues.  (1 Cor 14:40 KJV)  Let all things be done decently and in order.
(Eph 6:18 KJV)  Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the  Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; (Jude 1:20 KJV)  But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your  most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,(1 Cor 13:1 KJV)  Though I speak  with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as  sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
(1 Cor 12:4 KJV)  Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.
(1 Cor 12:6 KJV)  And there are diversities of operations, but it is the  same God which worketh all in all.
(Acts 2:42 KJV)  And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and  fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.
(Acts 2:43 KJV)  And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs  were done by the apostles.
(Acts 4:33 KJV)  And with great power gave the apostles witness of the  resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.
(Acts 4:35 KJV)  And laid them down at the apostles’ feet: and distribution  was made unto every man according as he had need.
(Acts 5:12 KJV)  And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and  wonders wrought among the people; (and they were all with one accord in
Solomon’s porch.
.
PROPHECY IS PERSONALLY PROCLAIMING DIRECTLY GOD’S WORD SPECIFICALLY FOR A  SPECIFIC GROUP.. You do not have to be a Prophet to prophecy, in fact all  believers are encouraged to use the gift of prophecy firstly too. (John  17:21 KJV)  That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in  thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou  hast sent me. (1 Cor 14:31 KJV)  For ye may all prophesy one by one, that  all may learn, and all may be comforted. The Christian People who have learned to use faithfully the gifts of  prophecy tend to become God true Prophets. God’s prophets ALSO TOO do work  two ways. Most of the time, they speak forth God’s will in accordance with  Scripture. At certain times, they will EVEN foretell future events.  In real  life, prophecy works like a combination of the Word of Wisdom and Faith. The prophet operates in the Lord’s wisdom, and speaks in faith in obedience to the Holy Spirit.
.
” Seven Ways to Judge Prophecy
1. By their fruits you shall know them. (Matthew 7:16-18,20)
2. Does it glorify Christ? (John 16:14; I Corinthians 12:3; I John 4:1-2)
3. Does it agree with the Scriptures? (Isaiah 8:20)
4. Are their prophecies fulfilled? (Deuteronomy 18:22) Some prophecies are not of God even though they may come to pass. The benchmark remains that all prophecies should exalt the Lord Jesus.
5. Is the prophecy disjointed or confused? True prophecy is line upon line and precept upon precept. (Isaiah 28:13)
6. Do the prophecies produce liberty in Christ or false bondage to the world, the flesh, the devil , men? (Romans 8:15)
7. All believers have an unction (anointing) within them that tells them when something is wrong. Prophecies should witness with the still small voice of the Holy Spirit in us too if we are rightfully walking with God firstly. (I John 2:20,27)”
.
Why Is Prophecy Important? or is it rather maintaining  our continual  relationship with Jesus that is more rightfully important still, firstly.
.
There are at least five reasons why prophecy is so important in the local  church? ( if you do believe that this is a true Biblical interpretation of the verses. and who says it is?) Too many people still do quote inapplicable  facts , verses even below..
1. It brings life. Prophecy brought life to the valley of dry bones (Ezekiel  37:1-4).
2. It gives spiritual vision? The Bible says, “Where there is no vision, the  people perish.’ The Lord gives vision through the prophetic word (Proverbs
29:13,18).
3. It edifies, exhorts, and comforts (I Corinthians 14:3). ( it can rebuke  as well..)
4. It brings revival and restoration? True prophecy brings restoration and revival (Acts 2:16-18). ( but not everyone was revived in the same place too.)
5. It can guide you personally confirm   to your own right position in the Body of  Christ?  Prophecy can also be used by God to direct you where you need to go
(Acts 13:1-3)
.
(Gal 1:10 KJV)  For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please  men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ. 11 But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not  after man. 12 For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but  by the revelation of Jesus Christ.
I was still very surprised next when a person even wrote to me to  tell me  even what I could and could not write to them in my email .. for they are dreaming..  even since when do people have a choice as to what message of  God delivered by the prophets they can select or not select too?
.
I like the scriptures to firstly speak for themselves, on any topic now as  well..
