Search Engine Terms These are terms people used to find your blog.  Today Search Views adulterous husbands

and when I saw this I can only say to me it was a tragic event.. sex maniacs,  especialy in the light that both men and women are equal sinners, even both groups falsely commit adultery now too., 70 percent of evangelical pastors now too

Fundamentals evangelists have been proven right, Alcohol is dangerous, leads also to cancer. http://thenonconformer.wordpress.com/2009/09/02/drink-alcohol-and-die/

1 Peter 5 :8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your  adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may  devour:9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions  are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.10 But the God of all  grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye  have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. 11 To  him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

Why are alcoholics always in denial? and why do they often lie,  cheat, steal also now? Because if they do admit the truth they are alcoholics, sinners too  they do have now to repent of the sin of disobeying God’s word about being drunk too.. so they take the ostrich denial approach instead too often. Alcoholism still is a sin of a deliberate, personal choice, and to be set free you have to admit your sin, confess it, renounce it, ask God for forgiveness through Jesus Christ as well.. It is not only wrong for the average person it is also especially wrong for leaders in the government, politicians.

The police commissioners said alcohol-related crime cost an estimated $1.7 billion a year. They said 40 per cent of people detained attributed their offence to alcohol. Police chiefs unite in push for alcohol reforms  http://lastthing.wordpress.com/tag/alcohol/

“The minority Conservative government’s approach to multiculturalism will get an airing in a speech by Secretary of State Jason Kenney at the Brant riding association’s annual general meeting on Thursday. Kenney, MP for Calgary Southeast, has served in Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s government as Secretary of State for Multiculturalism and Canadian Identity since 2006. He has been active in promoting human rights – particularly freedom of religion – in autocratic countries. He is a member of Parliament’s Canada-Tibet Committee and was instrumental in the country granting honorary citizenship to the Dalai Lama in June 2006. The event will take place at the Sherwood Restaurant on Colborne Street East. Cocktails will be served at 6:30 p.m., with the meeting scheduled to start at 7 p.m. Kenney is expected to speak starting at 8 p.m.” http://www.brantfordexpositor.ca/ArticleDisplay.aspx?e=1016750

“Why Canada’s Prime Minister Stephen Harper keeps his religion secret ?”  If the other fundamental Christian found out really what Harper now was like they would not support him or vote for him.. The liberal  Christian & Missionary Alliance Church itself, Harper’s own church now, contrary to the  fundamental Baptist and Pentecostal churches, it does not openly prohibit the drinking of wine or smoking, or divorce.

Many EVANGELICAL Fundamentalist believe that all true professing evangelical Christians are total abstainers from alcohol, and IN A FALSE DENIAL, A FALSE UNBELIEF they refuse to admit the reality that some professing Christians, Christian leaders still do get drunk, drink alcohol. Why? the shock they have been lied too is too much for a start..

(Note FIRST to the evangelical ostriches who write to me and  deny the negative reality, as per the a witness at the Western  Standard blog who had REPORTED In Writing AS WELL ON this event , some of the People Present there when Stephen Harper and Preston Manning were present, and Harper spoke,  they Were now Getting DRUNK ON ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES. This too now Was NO CHRISTIAN, CHURCH GATHERING for sure, but  political events. Some people here say that no Christians drink alcohol.. yes, no real Christians do, but there are many false ones.. The news media have openly written about too many of the political events being even sponsored by the alcohol  makers too. So wake up evangelical Christian ostriches..)

A Christian radio station in Red Deer Alberta , from Alberta’s once Bible belt too, wrote to me today and said they deny that Stephen Harper and his colleagues do , drinks beer, wine, alcohol, and that  Harper even  distributes any of it to others, cause real the Christians do not do this. Are they right or wrong about you to? Do openly tell us all. Some think you are a real Christian, are you deliberate now misleading them here too again? I am an abstainer and I do not give out any smokes,  playboy or wine too at any of my events.. what about you Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Preston Manning too? I do not believe rightfully either of you are real Christians.. for many good reasons now too. Nor do many others.  http://witnessed.wordpress.com/2008/08/29/why-canadas-prime-minister-stephen-harper-keeps-his-religion-secret/

The Evangelical Christian PM Stephen Harper should also note that the New Conservatives themselves now tend to be just as much alcoholics as the Liberals. Any false preconceived notions that they generally are not is clearly a myth.

Look I am not alone in this view.. too many Canadian persons have noticed that we have much too many alcoholics in the governments, even as elected ones, even as leaders, Ralph Klein,  Brian Mulroney was known for his boozing now too.. Regretfully still there  much too many alcoholics even in the Conservative party now for my liking,  , in this area too they are just as bad as the Liberal too it seems..  and who can forget Ralph Klein’s alcoholic outburts too, A man is certainly known what he is like by the friends he keep and having an brain damaged alcoholic as a friend, as a  drinking buddy is really no virtue, it is a sad recommendation,  a poor reference that you cannot even be now proud off.. The Prime Minister Stephen Harper a professing Christian Missinary Alliance Evangelical too had said that the ex PM Brian Mulroney was a close friends.. he Harper now really better start to get better friends and appointees than his alcoholic drinking buddies.. and still not one cent of taxpayers’ money should ever be even used  to buy any alcoholic, alcohol  at any governmental function, expense account.. for we all know how bad alcoholism is and how much evil , suffering it brings, all alcoholics should be fired, especially all of the alcoholic the public and civil servants, all alcoholic  elected officials too  and  not rather falsely  rewarded with more alcohol for almost all of them are already known to be liars, cheat’s thieves, abusers, etc..

Even our professing Canadian Christian Evangelical prime Minister Stephen Harper, and others, still should  note that these are basic, ground rules in proper Bible interpretation that must be followed before anyone even attempts to fully study, apply  the Holy Scripture even related to consuming much too many Alcoholic beverages now too? He personally and falsely, undeniably  loves his alcoholic  wine, beer much too much still too?

I admit I had lost all respect for the supposedly great preacher Spurgeon who was so ready to preach to others about their sins, but he himself now could not resist  the Temptation of a cigar.  Similar we find out that other preachers could not give up smoking too.. Look at this reference in regard to AB Simpson, the past founder of the Christian Missionary Alliance denomination now too.  “The Man, the movement, and the mission-A documentary of the C&MA”  Cut directly from their national web site. It was the custom for the ministers of the district to meet together to discuss all things common. This little reunion, in its proper sequence, was held one day at the Manse. And unaccountably strange odor of tobacco smoke began to steal upstairs. Suddenly the study door flew open and a towering figure of fury – all of four feet, one inch in its stocking feet – stood at the threshold. “SMOKING! Out of this house!” said Grannie Simpson, and in a body the ministerial association moved.  https://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=15796002&postID=3424830162204895882   http://reversion-clause.com/

The CMA is a pretentious and one of the most demonic churches I have been too made up of lying hypocrites where the professing Christians not only abuse people, poor people included, but they indulge in Alcohol too often too.. “I know that as a minister in the C&MA I am called to abstain from drinking alcoholic beverages, here at Safe Harbor there are just a few of people who voluntary give up drinking. The majority of our church drinks: beer, wine, and of course margaritas. I do not have a problem with this. Some pastors would. I can sum up my position by quoting Derek Webb, “While I do not condone drunkenness, I do condone drinking” http://lukecamara.blogspot.com/2007/05/jesus-and-wine.html

and what other pastoral vices now are now being PERMITTED falsely today,  the handing out of beer, wine, alcoholic beverages, playboy, pornography, acts of cheating, lying, stealing, STEALING THE TITHES, adultery, tax evasions still?

There are several basic, ground rules in proper Bible interpretation that must be followed by all persons now  before anyone even attempts to fully study the Holy Scripture. The first rule is pray and ask the Holy spirit to guide you, to teach you.. not rather self, mere men or women.. we should seek first and not last the Holy Spirit for illumination. The Holy Spirit wants to share the treasures of God’s Word with those who rightfully do esteem Him. The most important principle to remember in studying God’s Word is that it can only be understood with the help of the Holy Spirit.  Those who approach the Bible without the Holy Spirit to teach them, may gain some insight into truths, their lives, but also  will receive no definite, permanent, important life-changing revelation.  Bible Commentaries should be used only very sparingly if at  all. Even the most anointed man or woman, preacher  of God clearly still can be wrong, biased, have a hidden agenda, limited, (or just shallow) in their understanding or interpretation of certain Bible topics, subjects. Do not believe any man or women, rather solely Take God’s word for it.

WE ALL DO NEED to have a right attitudes EVEN to all of leaders, pastors, elders too, and they have to lead by a good personal example too.

Living high on the hog…  All likely  the tip of an iceberg too… so continue to make sure that any expenditure of taxpayers’ dollars is done responsibly

I am still trying to understand also why some of the persons, MPs too had  felt thy had a need to be there? Were they alcoholics? or what?

“The head of Ontario’s embattled workplace insurance agency should not have held a lobbying session at one of Ottawa’s most expensive downtown steakhouses, “Progressive Conservative MPP Tim Hudak  asked why the head of the agency that helps injured workers was lobbying MPs. “It was an inappropriate use of funds – that were supposed to be used for injured workers – to have this high-end soirée at the swankiest bar in Ottawa,”  “You’ve got to wonder what this guy has to do before he’s shown the door.” Labour Minister Brad Duguid is hauling the head of Ontario’s worker safety board onto the carpet for hosting a reception for MPs at an Ottawa restaurant. “I will be speaking to (the WSIB chair) to ensure that, indeed, the message is sent that we want to make sure that any expenditure of taxpayers’ dollars is done responsibly,” he said. Steve Mahoney chairman of  Workplace Safety and Insurance Board, was “wining and dining” federal acquaintances last week at Hy’s Steakhouse. While the former Liberal MPP, MP, and federal cabinet minister insisted the May 5 event was “fully justified,” provincial officials were less certain.  There was  wine and beer consumed during the reception, attended by Liberal and Conservative politicians   Mahoney said, adding the reception cost less than $1,000 and he paid for all the alcohol and for a subsequent steak dinner with six to eight MPs out of his own pocket”  attended by Conservative MPs, Justice Minister Rob Nicholson, whip Jay Hill and David Tilson,  NDP MP Peter Stoffer , members of the finance minister’s office. Speaker of the House Peter Milliken was there, as were fellow Liberal MPs John McKay, Karen Redman and Wayne Easter.  If he can pick up the booze, he should pick up the steak,” said New Democratic MPP Peter Kormos, who, along with leader Howard Hampton, is calling for Mr. Mahoney to resign from his post. “Why does he feel guilty about paying the liquor portion to the WSIB premium payers, but he doesn’t feel guilty about charging 50 steaks?” While “ NDP Leader Howard Hampton called for Mahoney’s resignation last month after a Star probe found the WSIB gave millions in rebates to firms prosecuted by the province and found guilty of safety violations leading to deaths and injuries.” he needs to adress his own party members to make sure that any expenditure of taxpayers’ dollars is done responsibly Ironically I had even written recently that the Conservatives clearly are basically no different than the Liberals, and both have much too many alcoholics now as well.. and what about the NDP, BQ too?  Does the RCMP and other government departments, also entertain MPs and others like this, with alcohol now as well?”

And how many of these persons. MPs  now are Alcoholics still too? Not one cent of taxpayer’s money should even be used to buy bad drugs or any Alcohol now as well.

I am not only transparently honest, straight forward, and rightfully too,  but I rightfully do still judge any of our leaders not only per their past words, promises, acts,  but also by a higher exemplary standard now as well especially when they profess to be Christians, or rather as often in reality so called “Christian alcoholics”.. which is rather an oxymoron.

“The only other gift he paid for and kept from the APEC jamboree was a set of eight crystal wine glasses from Stephen Harper, Canada’s Conservative Party Prime Minister. Mr Harper also gave him two bottles of dessert wine. Mr Howard donated these for “use during an official function at the Lodge”.

If you took 2 martinis or 2 beers a day you are an alcoholic. Alcoholism is a crime and not a disease, it is a crime, it is just as lethal, bad, and it is really unacceptable as selling or taking bad drugs too. Canada’s  bad drug problem, drunk driving, alcoholism is increasing not just amongst the teens, but also in the work place, in the government now as well even amongst the civil and public servants. Most major home violence, car or truck accidents are still associated with alcohol now too and not speeding. It’s a fact that  drinking alcohol can seriously damage one’s health and cause permanent brain damage as well .Alcohol may lead to liver problems, a variety of cancers as well as forms of osteoporosis and depression, and studies are showing, too, that women are more susceptible to the ill effects of alcohol than are men.

“ Results from a national survey of more than 1,000 human resource professionals nationwide found that 67% consider addiction and substance abuse to be among the most serious problems in the workplace. Released by the nonprofit Hazelden Foundation,  Interestingly enough, the survey revealed that 56% of the HR professionals say they believe addiction among women has increased over the last 5 years. ” Alcohoism is also a major unresolved problem in the police forces, the RCMP, civil and public servcie too..

Not one cent of tax payers money should be used by anyone for any alcoholic entertainment  in any government expense, function now as well.  Again Alcohol causes irreversible brain damage, and it next also hurts serverely many others undeniably  too..

Gangs and drugs,  alcohol are are still a big problem on Indian reservations and elsewhere. Why?  all while zero tolerance for gang affiliations or child pornography,  has developed too. We can tackle the supply of drugs by taking on and defeating the criminal gangs who should be treated in the same way as subversive organizations were. “ We all do  have to send a message loud and clear to the gangs – you are not tolerated and If you are caught  you will be charged. In many cases such gangs are linked to organized crime. You need to fully also go after the gang leaders who are making money using the kids and drugs to do it.   The government can now wrest control of violence-plagued reserves  by having zero tolerance for gangs and by banning drugs and alcohol from homes,  with the help of  RCMP and the courts. I can tell you that our government is committed to ensuring that Canada will not be safe haven for those who pose a threat to our national security or the safety of our families and communities. On this, our tolerance level is zero,” Stockwell Day but real actions by the government   still do speak louder than words.

“The most successful policing model in modern terms is the “zero tolerance” model used in New York. The strategy was known there as “one broken window” following the observation that where there were broken windows and rubbish in streets there was crime. During the programme’s operation in New York, the number of murders plummeted from 2,262 to 629.”

Read the full press release from the Hazelden Foundation: Substance abuse and addiction among most serious workplace issues.

The welfare system in Canada  needs also to provide more understanding towards  the persons  with substance abuse problems.  If you take a look at all of who is in the welfare programs, you will find that at least 10 percent of the persons  involved with this program do even have  a substance abuse problem. So mandatory attendance at Alcoholic Anonymous for them is a must too. These same persons  with substance abuse problems can’t get a job next too otherwise

“And children of parents with substance abuse problems are more likely to be physically abused.  Furthermore, parents with substance abuse problems are less likely to hold a job or be able to care for their kids.  “

” A study conducted in NYC found that 75 percent of abused children had one parent with a substance abuse problem (GAO)” These abused, neglected children suffer next at school, in life and in their health as well as a result.

Some people try to sugar coat it all wrongfully but we do  need  harsher restrictions on the sale and marketing of all alcoholic beverages (restrictions such as advertising bans and higher taxes) for the end effect of Alcohol on many of the individuals ultimately is no different than smoking or using illegal drugs,  such as marijuana, crack, cocaine and heroin..

I had read on many lying Sites that Barrack Obama does not drink alcohol and  that is not true.. Is he rather an alcolholic too now?http://www.sofakingdrunk.com/2008/05/09/obama-and-clinton-drinking-alcohol-obama-drunk-clinton-drunk/

In reality Genuine Born Again, Evangelical, Christians are total abstainers from smoking, drugs, alcohol, cheating, lying, stealing, tax evasions, pornography, or rather all personal vices, Impairments

Reality! These days it is too hard to tell the difference between secular persons and even evangelical pastors, Christians they seem to do the same things too. It is amazing how one can quickly spot an alcoholic, while they cannot still see their sin, and how quick they are to oppose themselves being exposed now too..

Genuine Born Again Evangelical Christians are total abstainers

1 Cor 6:10 Nor cheats (swindlers and thieves), nor greedy graspers, nor drunkards, nor foulmouthed revilers {and} slanderers, nor extortioners {and} robbers will inherit {or} have any share in the kingdom of God.

We know that alcoholicism is a terrible sin  that now damages the person’s brain, affects their ability  to work, to drive a car, and negatively affects their own behavior and affects many others too. The same reality is true of one taking now bad drugs as well. So I was also similarly shocked, surprised to discover the the falsely professing evangelical Christian Stephen Harper our Prime Minister likes to consume wine, alcohol, and he buys it for others as well.

Beyond a Biblical doubt the Genuine Born Again Evangelicals are total abstainers, like me, I never drink or touch wine or alcohol, at any time, nor do I give playboy, pornography, wine or wine glasses to anyone.““Dr. Daniel Akin, President of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary has written an article in favor of the famous Resolution #5 (Resolution calling for total opposition to alcohol). Alcohol is the number one drug problem among teenagers. (1 Cor. 8:13; 9:19-22; 10:32-33). Because I am an example to others, I will make certain no one ever walks the road of sorrow called alcoholism because they saw me take a drink and assumed, “if it is alright for him it is alright for me.” No, I will choose to set an uncompromising example of abstinence because I love them.  I will seek my joy and filling in the Spirit not in alcohol. I love the Phillips translation of Ephesians 5:18 which reads, “Don’t get your stimulus from wine (for there is always the danger of excessive drinking), but let the Spirit stimulate your souls.” Psalm 4:7-8 adds, “You [O Lord] have put more joy in my heart than they have when their grain and wine abound. In peace I will both lie down and sleep; for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.”  There is no record that Jesus drank strong drink,  As a pastor or church leader, would I demand abstinence for  leadership? Absolutely! The principle of Proverbs 31:4-5 is appropriately applied here, “It is not for Kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine, or for rulers to take strong drink, lest they drink and forget what has been decreed and pervert the rights of all the afflicted.” “PM Stephen Harper the pretender evangelical as well.. is not the first time he wrongfully  gave alcoholic beverages to others, and what next?

(1 Cor 11:28 KJV)  But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. 29  For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body. 30   For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep. 31  For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.

(Prov 3:33 KJV)  The curse of the LORD is in the house of the wicked: but he blesseth the habitation of the just.

Clearly do note this also..  1 Cor 6:10 Nor cheats (swindlers and thieves), nor greedy graspers, nor drunkards, nor foulmouthed revilers {and} slanderers, nor extortioners {and} robbers will inherit {or} have any share in the kingdom of God.

Jesus himself had said that professing to be a Christian is not enough, and it applies now to a PM as well, one rather can  tell what a person is really like by what he does,  a True Christian is one who evidently is controlled by the Spirit of God and not by  self, sin, a real Christian is one where thus anyone can clearly see by the evidence of the fruit of the Holy Spirit, including even self control.

Matt 3:8 Bring forth fruit that is consistent with repentance [let your lives prove your change of heart];

Gal 5:23 Gentleness (meekness, humility), self-control (self-restraint, continence). Against such things there is no law [that can bring a charge].

Matt 7:16 You will fully recognize them by their fruits. Do people pick grapes from thorns, or figs from thistles?

Matt 7:17 Even so, every healthy (sound) tree bears good fruit [worthy of admiration], but the sickly (decaying, worthless) tree bears bad (worthless) fruit.

Matt 7:18 A good (healthy) tree cannot bear bad (worthless) fruit, nor can a bad (diseased) tree bear excellent fruit [worthy of admiration].

Matt 7:19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and cast into the fire.

Matt 7:20 Therefore, you will fully know them by their fruits.

1 Tim 3:2 Now a bishop (superintendent, overseer) must give no grounds for accusation {but} must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, circumspect {and} temperate {and} self-controlled; [he must be] sensible {and} well behaved {and} dignified and lead an orderly (disciplined) life; [he must be] hospitable [showing love for and being a friend to the believers, especially strangers or foreigners, and be] a capable {and} qualified teacher,

Alcoholics, wine drinkers tend to have evidentially lost their self control..

I have often rightfully said to many preachers I would rather see them first by example live the life of Christ instead of merely preaching it others.  Preaching the Gospel is not an valid alternative to living it.  I even do know People who profess to be Christians and they are Alcoholics too.. but they are not Christians… They fool themselves only as to who they still really are too.

By their own fruits Jesus said to us all you can tell what they are really like still.
(Prov 16:25 KJV)  There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.(Mat 7:20 KJV)  Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. 21  Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22  Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23  And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. 24  Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: 25  And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. 26  And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:

“A scorner seeketh wisdom, and findeth it not: but knowledge is easy unto him that understandeth” (Proverbs 14:6)

PM Stephen Harper also the pretender evangelical as well.. is not the first time he wrongfully  gave alcoholic beverages to others, and what next?
(1 Cor 11:28 KJV)  But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. 29  For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body. 30   For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep. 31  For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged. (Prov 3:33 KJV)  The curse of the LORD is in the house of the wicked: but he blesseth the habitation of the just.

Not one cent of taxpayer’s money should be ever used in the governments, civil  and public servants, expense accounts  to buy alcohol, wine  or beer.

 > I did not know that smoking is also a sin?

Impaired means  when Mental awareness, alertness and function do also come under a dulling, slowing effect. This hinders our mental ability in everyday activity and restricts or cuts off our mental fellowship with the Holy Spirit speaking to our mind from our spirit. A person who has the smoking or drinking habit, in honesty, must label themselves an “addict” too. in bondage to Satan and the flesh and the lust thereof. Alcoholism, Smoking, lying, stealing, slander  is demonic, which is why it is so hard to stop on your own and they all are  not compatible with the Christian experience.  These sinful  problems are next forcing negative consequences on other “innocent” people  Co-workers, family and even  children are victims .  Christians are definitely thus not to be “stumbling blocks” to others.  Matthew 18: 6, 7, “But who so shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depths of the sea. Woe unto the world because of offenses! For it must needs be that offenses come; but woe to that man by whom the offense cometh!”

Also smoking is “burning incense to other (demon) gods”. II Kings 22:17, II Kings 23:5; II Chronicles 28:25, 34:24, 34:25; Jeremiah 1:16, 7:9, 11:12, 19:4; Chapter 44, 48:35.

To receive complete freedom from these sinful  bondages, the Believer must see his “habit” or being “hooked” as a spiritually rooted problem and confess it as a deliberate sin of Disobedience to God too. Acknowledging lust, Alcohol, tobacco, cigarettes, drugs, lying, stealing, marijuana  and smoking as sin is prerequisite. Personal Confession of the sin according to (1 John 1:9 KJV)  If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10   If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.and we all must choose to submit to God according to (James 4:7 KJV)  Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8  Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. 9  Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. 10   Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

and whether Smoking it is legal or not legal basically is not the issue in the sight of God.. but when you clearly have lost self control,  it also alters your judgment and your ability to perceive reality. on top of that you now are a prisoner to a bad habit of smoking , the very clear source of the bad habit is the devil now as well and not God.. and if you cannot see this it is either cause you do not want to or are in false denial… Half of the world knows that smoking cigarettes even is bad for you, it is a vice, and  it causes cancer, linked to gum disease, destroys the body and you did not realize it was sinful? either you are lying to me, lying yourself others or you are being deliberate ignorant. Smoking is not without potential real negative consequences and yes anyone would be an absolute fool not to factor that truth now as well . One cannot honestly claim to be using alcohol, smoking or marijuana for any purpose other than to falsely intoxicate oneself. to lose self control. One is not getting you closer to God by being intoxicated , but moving you away from Him. You’re doing the weed for YOURSELF, serving the sinful sinful self, the flesh now in reality. You are to die to self, the flesh and all of it’s lust thereof  as a Christian now still too. The ends do not justify now the mans still as well.

1 Corinthians  10:31 (King James Version)   Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

1 Corinthians 3:16-17 (King James Version) 16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? 17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

Christians are always to remain SOBER too. 1 Thessalonians 5:8 (King James Version) 8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.

Undeniably whether you are also a leader or not getting drunk is still an unacceptable sin as well. And all true Christians consider this still a sinful act  http://postedat.wordpress.com/2008/06/22/as-to-what-is-a-christian/

Even too many cops are alcoholics

Booze may speed shrinking of the brain
Chicago Sun-Times –  First, the experts said drinking low to moderate amounts of alcohol was a good idea, that it might protect against heart disease. Now, a study has found that such drinking has a risk: It might speed the shrinking of the brain that naturally comes with

Even our PM Stephen Harper needs to get better friends, needs to repent himself too.

Sober, obedient and not given to lusts of the flesh. 1 Peter 1:13-14 (King James Version)  13 Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; 14 As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:

Ephesians 5:11-21 (King James Version) 11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them  12 For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret. 13 But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light. 14 Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. 15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, 16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. 17 Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is. 18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit 19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms

>>If alcohol consumption is so wrong, why is wine mandatory for all Christians?
any fool who lies, twists the Biblke, is too quick to speak before he reads the whole Bible now too.. or https://anyonecare.wordpress.com/2008/05/25/alcoholism-the-unacceptable-sin  and speaks is still what?

Wine is not mandatory.. the greek used for wine in the new testament was, is grape juice.. what family are you part of ? an alcoholic one?

Genuine Born Again Evangelical Christians are total abstainers

1 Cor 6:10 Nor cheats (swindlers and thieves), nor greedy graspers, nor drunkards, nor foulmouthed revilers {and} slanderers, nor extortioners {and} robbers will inherit {or} have any share in the kingdom of God.

There are several things not named in the Bible that should definitely be avoided by Christians, and pastors and preachers should be speaking against. For example; there is pornography – the vile and evil use of the bodies of others to make pictures and films of people in the acts of things that should be kept in private. There is also the act of abortion – the murderous act of killing the innocent human baby before they are ever born. There is slavery, are we going to advocate slavery because the Bible tells us how to treat those who are enslaved to us? I would hope not. Someone will probably start crying out, “That is straw men,” so be it, it is based on principles of Scripture. Are you going to burn them, because they wreak havoc on your excuses for alcoholic drink?

We know that alcoholicism is a terrible sin  that now damages the person’s brain, affects their ability  to work, to drive a car, and negatively affects their own behavior and affects many others too. The same reality is true of one taking now bad drugs as well. So I was also similarly shocked, surprised to discover the the falsely professing evangelical Christian Stephen Harper our Prime Minister likes to consume wine, alcohol, and he buys it for others as well.

Beyond a Biblical doubt the Genuine Born Again Evangelicals are total abstainers, like me, I never drink or touch wine or alcohol, at any time, nor do I give playboy, pornography, wine or wine glasses to anyone

1 Cor 5:11 KJV) But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat. (1 Cor 5:12 KJV) For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within? (1 Cor 5:13 KJV) But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.

Mt 15:9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. Mt 7:21 ¶ Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Sin is unacceptable for all persons Christians or not, they have to try to deliberately abstain from sins, to have now the maturity, self control and if they let Jesus do that he will help them to do that by the Holy spirit.. otherwise if Jesus now cannot help them, cause they will not let him, they are backslidden sinners going to hell. It is as simple as that. No one made Obama drink Alcohol. I did not as well.

and what about Christ – he didn’t sin. yet he consumed wine? How little you know about the Bible even.. the Greek words for the wine he consumed was grape juice, no fermented wine, juice.. are you an alcoholic and is this why you want to cling to drinking wine now too? Priest and leaders by the same Bible were not allowed to drink wine, so Christ could not have drunk wine. Study the Bible stop listening to men’s lies.

Ignorance is still no excuse in the eyes of the law and in the eyes of God

(Psa 73:22 KJV)  So foolish was I, and ignorant: I was as a beast before thee. (Isa 56:10 KJV)  His watchmen are blind: they are all ignorant, they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber. 11  Yea, they are greedy dogs which can never have enough, and they are shepherds that cannot understand: they all look to their own way, every one for his gain, from his quarter. 12  Come ye, say they, I will fetch wine, and we will fill ourselves with strong drink; and to morrow shall be as this day, and much more abundant.

(Rom 10:3 KJV)  For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.

” Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise” Proverbs 20:1;

“Who hath woe? who hath sorrow? who hath contentions? who hath babbling? who hath wounds without cause? who hath redness of eyes? They that tarry long at the wine; they that go to seek mixed wine. Look not thou upon the wine when it is red, when it giveth his colour in the cup, when it moveth itself aright. At the last it biteth like a serpent, and stingeth like an adder” Proverbs 23:29-32; “But they also have erred through wine, and through strong drink are out of the way; the priest and the prophet have erred through strong drink, they are swallowed up of wine, they are out of the way through strong drink; they err in vision, they stumble in judgment. For all tables are full of vomit and filthiness, so that there is no place clean” Isaiah 28:7-8.

(1 Cor 14:38 KJV)  But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant.

Living for Christ: A Lifestyle that Honours  God  1 Timothy 5:23: “Use a little wine for the sake of your stomach” A favorite verse of many people is Paul’s advice to Timothy in 1 Timothy 5:23 to “No longer drink only water, but use a little wine for the sake of your stomach and your frequent ailments.” We need to note several things. Timothy obviously doesn’t even drink grape juice! (Note: in an earlier letter 1 Tim 3:2-3 Paul had told Timothy an Elderto be abstinent (nephalion), and a nonparticipant at drinking places and parties (meparoinon). Obviously advise Timothy had carefully followed). Additionally this is only for a ‘medical’ reason. Most significantly, historical testimonies tell us the ancients advised the use of use of unfermented wine for medical purposes. For example, Athenaeus, theGrammarian (A.D. 280), specifically advises one use unfermented “sweet wine” (glukonoinon) for stomach disorders. He writes: “Let him take sweet wine, either mixed with water or warmed, especially that kind called protropos, the sweet Lesbian glukus, asbeing good for the stomach; for sweet wine [oinos] does not make the head heavy.” (Athenaeus, Banquet 2, 24). This sounds similar to Paul. Athenaeus calls the wine” lesbian” because its alcoholic potency had been removed. Pliny (A. D. 79), a contemporary of Paul and author of the celebrated Natural History gives similar recommendations. He advise the use of boiled unfermented wine called adynamon for sick persons “for whom it is feared that wine may be harmful.” (Pliny, Natural History 14,18). Even if it were alcoholic wine Paul was talking about, it would only justify medical uses of alcohol. Paul is not here suggesting moderate drinking. Be abstinent The New Testament often admonitions abstinence through the Greek verb nepho and the adjective nephalios

((1 Th 5:6 KJV)  Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. (1 Th 5:7 KJV)  For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. (1 Th 5:8 KJV)  But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. (1 Tim 3:2 KJV)  A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach; (1 Tim 3:11 KJV)  Even so must their wives be grave  (2 Tim 4:5 KJV)  But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry. (Titus 2:2 KJV)  That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience. (1 Pet 1:13 KJV)  Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; (1 Pet 4:7 KJV)  But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer. (1 Pet 5:8 KJV)  Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:).

So note how many times the new testament says to be sober and it should be translated as abstinent or abstaining from wine There is noteworthy unanimity among Greek lexicons on the primary meaning of the verb nepho as “to abstain from wine” and of the adjective nephalios as”abstinent, without wine.” (See, for example, G. W. Lampe, A Patristic Greek Lexicon (Oxford, 1961),s. v. “Nepho”; James Donnegan, A New Greek and English Lexicon, 1847 edition, s. v. ” Nepho”; ThomasS. Green, A Greek-English Lexicon to the New Testament, 1892 edition, s. v. ” Nepho”; E. Robinson, AGreek and English Lexicon of the New Testament (New York, 1850), s. v. ” Nepho”; G. Abbott-Smith, AManual Greek Lexicon of the New Testament, 1937 edition, s. v. ” Nepho”; Hesychius of Alexandria,Hesychii Alexandri Lexicon, 1858 edition, s. v. ” Nephalios”; Demetrios C. S. Byzantios, Lexicon Epitomoutes Ellenikes Glosses, 1939 edition, s. v. “Nephalios.”). Josephus and Philo, who were contemporaries of Paul and Peter, both tell us the priests, who were not allowed to drink any wine were nephalioi andnephalios. (Josephus, Antiquities of the Jews 3, 12, 2, trans. William Whiston, Josephus Complete Works(Grand Rapids, 1974), p. 81 and Philo, De Specialibus Legibus 4, 183). The adjective nephalios in ((1 Tim 3:2 KJV)  A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach; (1 Tim 3:11 KJV)  Even so must their wives be grave, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things. (Titus 2:2 KJV)  That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.) can and should be read as abstinent. And nepho in ((1 Th 5:6 KJV)  Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. (1 Pet 1:13 KJV)  Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; (1 Pet 5:8 KJV)  Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: ), should be translated as abstinent or abstaining from wine. Unfortunately, translators soften the meaning of the word and translate it in amore figurative sense as merely “temperate, sober, steady. ”While there is no simplistic “Thou shall not” command concerning alcohol, the Bible warns against wine that intoxicates. In addition to the Bibles warnings, there are many reasons for a Christian to avoid alcohol. Up to half of all crime is committed while under the influence of alcohol. There is our influence and example to friends, family and children (you cannot teach what you refuse to practice – its called hypocrisy). Many people are strongly predisposed to alcoholism and one drink may begin a lifetime of struggle and suffering. Finally, in view of Jesus soon return, we should avoid anything that would adversely affect our minds, hearts, bodies and social example. (Note: This study has used/adapted material from “Wine in the Bible” by S. Bacchiocchi).

Alcohol causes more pain, death and suffering than all illegal drugs and should be completely avoided by a disciple of Jesus for moral, spiritual and scriptural reasons

What about wine or alcohol? The Bible has no simplistic command that says, “You shall not drink alcohol,” though some warnings come close (The Bible doesn’t say, “Don’ttake LSD”, yet all Christians rightly condemn such drugs). However, the whole voice and direction of the Bible is clearly against intoxicating drink. We can tell this because wine that intoxicates is portrayed negatively in Biblical narratives and is routinely warned against ((Lev 10:8 KJV)  And the LORD spake unto Aaron, saying, (Lev 10:9 KJV)  Do not drink wine nor strong drink, thou, nor thy sons with thee, when ye go into the tabernacle of the congregation, lest ye die: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations: (Lev 10:10 KJV)  And that ye may put difference between holy and unholy, and between unclean and clean;  (Lev 10:11 KJV)  And that ye may teach the children of Israel all the statutes which the LORD hath spoken unto them by the hand of Moses. (Judg 13:3 KJV)  And the angel of the LORD appeared unto the woman, and said unto her, Behold now, thou art barren, and bearest not: but thou shalt conceive, and bear a son. (Judg 13:4 KJV)  Now therefore beware, I pray thee, and drink not wine nor strong drink, and eat not any unclean thing: (Prov 20:1 KJV)  Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise. (Prov 23:31 KJV)  Look not thou upon the wine when it is red, when it giveth his colour in the cup, when it moveth itself aright. (Prov 31:4 KJV)  It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes strong drink: (Prov 31:5 KJV)  Lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the judgment of any of the afflicted. (Hab 2:5 KJV)  Yea also, because he transgresseth by wine, he is a proud man, neither keepeth at home, who enlargeth his desire as hell, and is as death, and cannot be satisfied, but gathereth unto him all nations, and heapeth unto him all people: (Eph 5:18 KJV)  And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; (1 Tim 3:2 KJV)  A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach; (1 Tim 3:3 KJV)  Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous; ), whereas non-intoxicating wine is portrayed positively ((Gen 27:28 KJV)  Therefore God give thee of the dew of heaven, and the fatness of the earth, and plenty of corn and wine: (Gen 49:10 KJV)  The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be. (Gen 49:11 KJV)  Binding his foal unto the vine, and his ass’s colt unto the choice vine; he washed his garments in wine, and his clothes in the blood of grapes: (Gen 49:12 KJV)  His eyes shall be red with wine, and his teeth white with milk. (Psa 104:14 KJV)  He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man: that he may bring forth food out of the earth; (Psa 104:15 KJV)  And wine that maketh glad the heart of man, and oil to make his face to shine, and bread which strengtheneth man’s heart. (Isa 55:1 KJV)  Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. (Amos 9:13 KJV)  Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that the plowman shall overtake the reaper, and the treader of grapes him that soweth seed; and the mountains shall drop sweet wine, and all the hills shall melt. (John 2:10 KJV)  And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now. (John 2:11 KJV)  This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him.). This simultaneous approval and disapproval of ‘wine’ can seem confusing and contradictory. This problem largely disappears when we realize that the Hebrew and Greek words for wine (yayin and oinos) can mean either fermented or unfermented wine. The ancient writers who were contemporaries with many of the Biblical writers use the words to refer to both types of wine.  For example in his book Metereologica, Aristotle (384-322 B.C.) speaks of unfermented grape juice (glukus), saying: “though called wine [oinos], it has not the effect of wine, for it does not taste like wine and does not intoxicate like ordinary wine.” Aristotle explicitly tells us unfermented grape juice was called “oinos” or “wine”. Other examples can be found in ancient Jewish writings also (The Septuagint, a translation of the Old Testament in Greek, often translates the Hebrew word for grape-juice “tirosh” by the Greek word ‘oinos’ or wine). The problem is not wine but what kind of wine. The Bible speaks against fermented wine, but for unfermented wine. Scripture condemns the use of alcoholic beverages because they distort the perception of reality ((Prov 23:33 KJV)  Thine eyes shall behold strange women, and thine heart shall utter perverse things. (Isa 28:7 KJV)  But they also have erred through wine, and through strong drink are out of the way; the priest and the prophet have erred through strong drink, they are swallowed up of wine, they are out of the way through strong drink; they err in vision, they stumble in judgment. ); they impair the capacity to make moral, responsible decisions ((Lev 10:9 KJV)  Do not drink wine nor strong drink, thou, nor thy sons with thee, when ye go into the tabernacle of the congregation, lest ye die: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations: (Lev 10:10 KJV)  And that ye may put difference between holy and unholy, and between unclean and clean; (Lev 10:11 KJV)  And that ye may teach the children of Israel all the statutes which the LORD hath spoken unto them by the hand of Moses.); they weaken moral sensitivities and inhibitions ((Gen 9:21 KJV)  And he drank of the wine, and was drunken; and he was uncovered within his tent. (Gen 19:32 KJV)  Come, let us make our father drink wine, and we will lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father. (Isa 5:11 KJV)  Woe unto them that rise up early in the morning, that they may follow strong drink; that continue until night, till wine inflame them! (Isa 5:12 KJV)  And the harp, and the viol, the tabret, and pipe, and wine, are in their feasts: but they regard not the work of the LORD, neither consider the operation of his hands. (Hab 2:15 KJV)  Woe unto him that giveth his neighbour drink, that puttest thy bottle to him, and makest him drunken also, that thou mayest look on their nakedness! ); they cause physical sickness ((Psa 60:3 KJV)  Thou hast showed thy people hard things: thou hast made us to drink the wine of astonishment. (Prov 23:20 KJV)  Be not among winebibbers; among riotous eaters of flesh: (Prov 23:21 KJV)  For the drunkard and the glutton shall come to poverty: and drowsiness shall clothe a man with rags. (Isa 19:14 KJV)  The LORD hath mingled a perverse spirit in the midst thereof: and they have caused Egypt to err in every work thereof, as a drunken man staggereth in his vomit. (Hosea 7:5 KJV)  In the day of our king the princes have made him sick with bottles of wine; he stretched out his hand with scorners. ); and they disqualify for civil and religious service ((Lev 10:9 KJV)  Do not drink wine nor strong drink, thou, nor thy sons with thee, when ye go into the tabernacle of the congregation, lest ye die: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations: (Lev 10:10 KJV)  And that ye may put difference between holy and unholy, and between unclean and clean; (Lev 10:11 KJV)  And that ye may teach the children of Israel all the statutes which the LORD hath spoken unto them by the hand of Moses. (Prov 31:4 KJV)  It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes strong drink: (Prov 31:5 KJV)  Lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the judgment of any of the afflicted. (1 Tim 3:2 KJV)  A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach; (1 Tim 3:3 KJV)  Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous; (Titus 1:7 KJV)  For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre; (Titus 1:8 KJV)  But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate; ). Contrary to popular opinion, it was as hard if not harder to preserve fermented wine than unfermented grape juice. To prevent fermented wine from becoming acid, moldy, or foul-smelling, the ancients used many preservatives such as salt, sea-water, liquid or solid pitch, boiled-down must, marble dust, lime, sulphur fumes or crushed iris. In comparison the preservation of grape juice unfermented was a relatively simpler process. Ancient sources inform us of four main ways: (1) by boiling down the juice to a syrup, (2) by separating the fermentable pulp from the juice of the grape by means of filtration, (3) by placing freshly pressed grape juice in sealed jars which were immersed in a pool of cold water, and (4) by fumigating the wine jars with sulphur before sealing them. What follows are some Bible texts that are commonly misused by people to justify moderate drinking . Many think Jesus turned water into alcoholic wine at the wedding of Cana. Supposedly “good wine” is that which has a high alcoholic content. However, ancient authors from Jesus day considered “good wine” to be unfermented wine whose alcoholic potency had been removed by boiling or filtration. Pliny, for example, says “wines are most beneficial (utilissimum) when all their potency has been removed by the strainer.” (Pliny, Natural History 23, 24, trans. W. H. S. Jones, The Loeb Classical Library, Cambridge, Massachusetts, 1961). Similarly, Plutarch tells us wine is “much more pleasant to drink” when it “neither inflames the brain nor infests the mind or passions” because its strength has been removed through frequent filtering. (Plutarch, Symposiac 8, 7). The ancient Jewish Talmud indicates that drinking to the accompaniment of musical instruments on festive occasions such as a wedding was forbidden. (See Sotah 48a; also Mishna Sotah 9, 11). Some interpret John 2:10 “well drunk” as meaning very intoxicated. But the Greek verb methusko is correctly translated “to drink freely” by the RSV of the Bible, without any implication of intoxication. New Wine in New Wineskins Christ’s statement that “new wine must be put into fresh wineskins” ((Mat 9:17 KJV)  Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.  (Mark 2:22 KJV)  And no man putteth new wine into old bottles: else the new wine doth burst the bottles, and the wine is spilled, and the bottles will be marred: but new wine must be put into new bottles.  (Luke 5:38 KJV)  But new wine must be put into new bottles; and both are preserved.), supposedly indicates Jesus approved use of alcohol. This is a strangein terpretation, as Jesus is not even talking about whether one should drink wine or not. Nothing in this passage supports drinking alcohol. It is probable that the wine is non-alcoholic as it is simply not possible for new or old wineskins to withstand the pressure of fermentation! Unfermented grape juice must be put into new wineskins. If new wine was put into old wineskins, remnant material from the pervious wine could start fermentation and develop gas with an enormous pressure that would burst and ruinboth the grape juice and the skin. Unfermented must, after it had been filtered or boiled, is ‘new wine’ which could be safely stored in new wineskins. Luke adds the following tothis story “And no one after drinking old wine desires new; for he says, ‘The old is good ‘”(Luke 5:39). Some people claim Jesus is commending old wine, which is likely fermented. They miss the whole point. In verses 33-39 Jesus is describing how the ‘old’ ways of the Pharisees don’t like the ‘new’ work of Jesus. Jesus says not to put new wine into old wineskins, a new patch on an old garment. He then concludes that one who is used to old wine won’t want the new. The person preferring the old (fermented wine) is the Pharisee who is resisting Jesus new teachings. The Last Supper During Passover time when Jesus instituted the last supper he referred to the wine as the “the fruit of the vine” ( (Mat 26:29 KJV)  But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom. (Mark 14:25 KJV)  Verily I say unto you, I will drink no more of the fruit of the vine, until that day that I drink it new in the kingdom of God. (Luke 22:18 KJV)  For I say unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come. ). The noun “fruit” (gennema) emphasizes this ‘wine’ is that which is in its natural state, just as it is gathered. Fermented wine is not the natural “fruit of the vine” but the unnatural fruit offermentation and decay. The Jewish historian Josephus, a contemporary of the apostles, explicitly calls the three clusters of grapes freshly squeezed in a cup by Pharaoh’s cupbearer as “the fruit of the vine.” (Josephus, Antiquities of the Jews 2, 5,2). The phrase is clearly used to refer to the sweet, unfermented juice of the grape. We should also note that all fermented products (leaven bread etc) were to be disregarded at Passover time. Numerous ancient Christian groups use unfermented grape juice for the last supper.

In speaking of the ungodliness of the Gentiles, Peter wrote, “For we have spent enough of our past lifetime in doing the will of Gentiles — when we walked in lewdness, lusts, drunkenness, revelries, drinking parties, and abominable idolatries” (1 Pet 4:3 – NKJV).

In listing the works of the flesh in Galatians 5:19-21, the apostle Paul mentions both drunkenness and revelries. But just in case that wasn’t clear enough, he added these words, “and the like” (v 21). This would be considered somewhat of a “catch-all” phrase for any evil thing not specified in the previous verses. In 1 Thessalonians 5:21-22, Paul wrote, “Test all things; hold fast what is good. Abstain from every form of evil” (NKJV). The word translated “good” is from the Greek kalos, meaning “commendable, admirable, excellent in its nature and characteristics, praiseworthy, morally good, noble, affecting the mind agreeably” (Strong’s). None of these traits can be ascribed to the use of alcohol.

The use of alcohol in moderation in social or private settings has many defenders, but no defense. Remember Paul’s admonition to Timothy, “Be not a partaker in other men’s sins, keep thy self pure” (1 Tim 5:22).

Barrack Obama says that he is a Christian.,.. so what.. we are all as Christians still to to judge a person is he is a really Christian now in the church.. or do you not read that verse in the Bible now too? and we are to expect fruits of this too.. Jesus said by their fruits you can tell if they are a Christian, for not everyone who says Lord, Lord Jesus is still a Christian.. a true Christian leader does not drink alcohol, get drunk,. support gay marriages, oppose apostle Paul’s writings, etc., he has so many strikes against him it is unbelievable that he could be a Christian, a pretending Christian yes.

(Isa 28:1 KJV) Woe to the crown of pride, to the drunkards of Ephraim, whose glorious beauty is a fading flower, which are on the head of the fat valleys of them that are overcome with wine! (Isa 28:3 KJV) The crown of pride, the drunkards of Ephraim, shall be trodden under feet: (Joel 1:5 KJV) Awake, ye drunkards, and weep; and howl, all ye drinkers of wine, because of the new wine, for it is cut off from your mouth. (Nahum 1:10 KJV) For while they be folden together as thorns, and while they are drunken as drunkards, they shall be devoured as stubble fully dry.

(1 Cor 6:10 KJV) Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

Slander is telling an unsubstantiated fact, a lie.. I have substantiated my reasons, facts on my posts… as to why Obama is not a true, real practicing Christian for start.. As a pastor I too do know that 70 percent of people going to a Christian church are still non practicing, not real Christians.. lip service only Christians being happily married means nothing alone.. telling lies for Obama is wrong. Does he or does he not drink alcohol and how much now too? Does he also now give out playboy too? no such thing as little bit pregnant.. open the door an inch and the devil takes a mile.

I personally have done no sin, wrong in any of my posts, but you clearly now do not practice what you preach hypocritically, you claim we should not judge pothers, but you have even falsely judge me.. take the beam out of your own eyes..

And homosexuality is still wrong. drunkenness is wrong, abortion is wrong, gay sex is wrong, lust is wrong. lying is wrong. gossip and slander are wrong. pride is wrong, drinking alcohol for a leader is wrong.. 80 million Christians in the US believe this too,. in a recent poll 57 percent of Americans do not believe Obama is a Christian as well.

but lets unite on things that we can unite on. giving to the poor. looking after the orphaned. taking care of the widows. loving people unconditionally does not mean approving, justifying their sins. like Jesus Christ loves you and loves me.

Most site say Obama does not drink alcohol Now you and I know that is a lie to start of with, a false spin.. I saw him drinking alcohol on TV news and I also saw the photo of him drinking alcohol.. so ask him to repent, not me, I do not lie, cheat, slander, drink alcohol or get drunk

Sickness & healings, Revivals

There are these days even on the net false Teachers or Bullies, Persons who Know it all, the false persons still too  who mostly have not read the Bible firstly too.. and who want to teach others, or mislead them

Often I asked my personal option about some TV evangelists, and those I have met, dealt with in my  experience I can talk about, and those I have not I really cannot fully comment too.Yes sometimes some of us are too critical, too judgmental of others, we wrongfully are too quick to speak and other times too slow.I had a serious heart problem, my heart was beating 122 beats per minute instead of 68 or 72.. God next told me to go to hear an evangelsist who was in the Hotel just for the weekend and I did. The evangelist called someone here has a serious heart problem come forth so I can pray for you.. I did not. I waited.. he repeated his call.. I went forward, he prayed for me and my heart beat went to normal. No one can deny that reality now too.

I have certainly now learned firsthand often now that I can post the identical comments on many different professing Christians sites and next get completely opposite Reponses. Now why is that? How can there be completely different spirits on professing Christian sites.. some people have sites with different agendas, some have sites to promote God, Jesus Christ, others have sites that are there to promote self, their personal even hidden agendas, denominations..I watched a Video of the preacher and I saw nothing wrong with it, for I had been to many such types of services myself, and yet others now use the same video to be critcal of the preacher and I still cannot see why?

The baptism of the Holy spirit, the gifts of the Holy spirit, the Anointing , tongues, Prophets, Apostles, miracle workers, have become unarguably the most overused, overworked, misunderstood, misinterpreted, contentious terms in the non Pentecostal and in the Non Charismatic arenas, mainly in the fundamental religious circles even because many of these people are mostly still serving self, doing their own thing, looking up to mere man and not God.. man’s help useless for the most part in understanding spiritual things still too. Beyond the show of a doubt the devil firstly really hates any references to the Holy sprit, the anointed ones, the idea that Christians do have now empowering to overcome the devil too… and so the devil uses any of his followers, those in the fundamental religious circles too now, to now lie, twist, distort the truths…

I have had only one encounter with a real angel in my life, and his discussion with me helped me to have certain things in my life straightened out.

I recently wrote back rightfully to one bully, basher, ignorant person that he should not be so readily to try to preach, to teach others, especially in matters he really new nothing about or had never experienced personally himself.  It is ludicrous still as to how many so called experts can write about their own ignorance of Tongues, Healing, the Bible, Angels too.. On top of that what makes matters worse is the tendency of the devil to make us either have personally initially totally false values, or got to an extreme with a good value. I have been there too myself. When it came to the subject of healing now too.

Some demons, persons would have us either totally reject all doctors and trust in God alone or reject  all supernatural healings instead. Why?

I admit God told me he next would do for me what the Doctors would not do so I have been both to the doctors, and I also have seen personal healings in my own life and in the members of my own family now too. By the way healings can still also  be gradual or instantaneous too.

If it was God’s will for us to stay sick then why would God allow the Hospitals to be built, or why would Jesus himself now cure the sick people..

(Heb 13:8 KJV)  Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

(Heb 13:12 KJV)  Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate.

(Acts 10:38 KJV)  How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

(Isa 53:5 KJV)  But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

Some of the  distorted preachers, even pentecostals do too often do teach that any  Christian should not be sick at all and that we can always immediately claim our sickness healing by faith and God will always heal us. They seem too easily to forget that  a temporary human sickness can temporary serve God’s purposes.  But also yet the Fundamentals Evangelcials too now also go overboard denying that any healing tend to exist today as well. Relatedly as Jesus himself had said this is not always the case..  sickness can exist for the glory of God too. But it is still always God will to deliver us from all evil, all sicknesses now too.. and how and when he God chooses to do so is his prerogative..

Relatedly a  too common Pentecostal Word Faith teaching is that it is solely, always  your own personal fault for being sick.  This false teaching of sin being the cause of all sickness can also be found in Hinduism as well.  They teach that it is because of your own lack of faith and/or knowledge, unconfessed sins if you are sick or poor.   This unloving, cruel and unbiblical teaching does not come from God but from Satan who distorted God’s basic truths on healing. Can you imagine the gall of anyone, even a false elder, pastor, unlovingly trying to tell a person to their face that the reason their daughter sick is because of their lack of faith?  or that God is punishing them of their own sin? Can you imagine the cruelty in telling a person bound to a wheelchair that if they had enough “faith” they would  surely  “Rise and be healed?”  But what does the Bible say about it, teach.

Most of the problem with the clear Christian teaching discrepancies on Healing and Sickness is due firstly to the real personal ignorance of what the Bible teaches even about Healing. Most Christian people wrongfully rely mainly on some famous preacher who is pro or con to healing and Not on God and his Word firstly. Many people have their mind made up beforehand anyway and are not honestly open to the subjects and they thus tend use out of context bible verses, the preachers quotations to try to suit, substantiate their own pet views.. they need to read these verses..

(Mat 8:7 KJV)  And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him.

(Mat 10:1 KJV)  And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.

(Mat 10:8 KJV)  Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.

(Mat 12:10 KJV)  And, behold, there was a man which had his hand withered. And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath days? that they might accuse him.

(Mat 13:15 KJV)  For this people’s heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

(Mark 3:15 KJV)  And to have power to heal sicknesses, and to cast out devils:

(Luke 4:18 KJV)  The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

Many people want to know why the miracles of Christ are not abounding today.. the answer is quite simple..

(Mat 13:57 KJV)  And they were offended in him. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, save in his own country, and in his own house.

(Mat 13:58 KJV)  And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief.

(Gal 3:5 KJV)  He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?

(Mat 15:28 KJV)  Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.

(Mat 21:21 KJV)  Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done. 22  And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

(Mark 2:5 KJV)  When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.

(Mark 10:52 KJV)  And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.

(Mark 11:22 KJV)  And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.

(Acts 20:21 KJV)  Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

(Rom 10:17 KJV)  So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

(James 1:6 KJV)  But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. 8   A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

I HAVE ALSO LEARNED THE HARD WAY THAT EVEN IF MANY PERSONS PERSONALLY DO SEE A MIRACLE happen and often still THERE WILL BE NO SIGNIFICANT SPIRITUAL CHANGE IN THEIR LIFE.  http://pbulow.tripod.com/healing.html

The point I want to make is that I have had both dreams from God and often demonic nightmares from the devil.. we see seeds and tares in our life often, in the church.

(Mat 13:24 KJV)  Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field:25 But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way. 26   But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also. 27  So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares? 28  He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up? 29 But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them. 30  Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

So yes sometimes it can be too early to judge a matter too.

I immediately do still renounce the devils nightmare and dissolve them by the shed blood of Jesus and in the name of Jesus

As per the dream given to me by God  I had a dream  where God, Jesus is Lord also in a city far far away and I did not forget the city, that dream stayed with me even to date.. I was  literary amazed by it’s size and beauty. I TOO WAS NOW CAPTIVATED BY GOD’S DREAM

Like many of us I have been facing serious daily life and death struggles, dealing with the unknowns in particular since I have had serious heart problems, and heart surgery, and also often serious demonic oppressions.

I have spent much times driving in Alberta enjoying the Rocky Mountain view, and listening to scripture in songs too, For me God was undeniably  majestic in these surroundings  and so naturally I wanted to return there ASAP, but with my after not dully successful  heart surgery, many related  doctor appointments I was unable to do so. God had previously told me he had provided me everything I need in my present local, everything.

Being upset at this I had seriously prayed about it as to why I could not return to Alberta. Shortly next had a clear, very vivid dream vision, where I saw a view of Montreal looking at the the south shore, except the south shore had a  European, historical, looking large city there. This was a beautiful city and I had certainly wanted to go there to see it.. Next I was told I would not cross the river. I understood next that That large city across the river I saw was heaven itself  and I looked forward to seeing it. I was not to go there yet..

I then saw an immediate top view of the Montreal general Hospital itself. The voice said I had to go there next. I did not understand why till the same week I saw my heart doctor who said I needed a costly heart deliberator installed, for I had a tendency to die in my sleep, and it next shortly   was installed. .. The installed deliberator immediately also seemed to help me with my past breathing problem and it was  much appreciated . Now I go every 3 months to the MGH for regular heart check ups. But that dream of the heavenly city and the fact God cared about me to speak to me this still stays with me for years too now and brightens up my life with eternal glory, joy.

Is 22:20 And in that day I will call My servant, Eliakim son of Hilkiah.  21 And I will clothe him with your robe and will bind your girdle on him and will commit your authority to his hand; he shall be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem and to the house of Judah.  22 And the key of the house of David I will lay upon his shoulder; he shall open and no one shall shut, he shall shut and no one shall open.  23 And I will fasten him like a peg {or} nail in a firm place; and he will become a throne of honor {and} glory to his father’s house.  24 And they will hang on him the honor {and} the whole weight of [responsibility for] his father’s house: the offspring and issue [of the family, high and low], every small vessel, from the cups even to all the flasks {and} big bulging bottles.  25 In that day, says the Lord of hosts, the nail {or} peg that was fastened into the sure place shall give way {and} be moved and be hewn down and fall, and the burden that was upon it shall be cut off; for the Lord has spoken it.

Here it is very clear in the Old Testament too – God has transferred all of the ownership, rulership  kingship of Israel to Jesus Christ himself.. that is what I look forward too, the heavenly kingdom too

(Prov 11:1 KJV)  A false balance is abomination to the LORD: but a just weight is his delight.

(Prov 11:2 KJV)  When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom.

(Acts 13:1 KJV)  Now there were in the church that was at Antioch certain prophets and teachers; as Barnabas, and Simeon that was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen, which had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.

(1 Cor 12:28 KJV)  And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.

(1 Cor 12:29 KJV)  Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles?

(Eph 4:11 KJV)  And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

(1 Tim 1:7 KJV)  Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm.

(2 Tim 4:3 KJV)  For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

(Titus 2:3 KJV)  The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;

(Heb 5:12 KJV)  For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.

(2 Pet 2:1 KJV)  But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.

I have yet to be at a really perfect Church service.. for sadly we all all sinners and we all will continue to sin here on earth. It is also true too many people have their eyes on the preacher, instead of Jesus Christ.I was in a super great Church once, even though the Pastors were stealing, abusing the funds, committing adultery, counseling divorce, gossiping, slandering, lying, and so forth. The Holy Spirit due to the prayers of some of the faithful persons there was really moving in their services, and many people were getting saved, healed and delivered, and the praise and worship services were really great. God specifically had told me to go to this church as well, but he had put a condition on it, he said do not talk with, communicate, fellowship with any of the pastors. I had done some great personal counseling in that Church as well.. met some great and also bad people. But eventually one day next came when I had to talk to the same pastors, and even to tell them that God was going to get rid of them, to next deal with them negatively and God did! God next broke down this large Calgary church because it had grown big in size and had become perverse. All of the pastors were next removed from it as well.(Micah 3:6 KJV) Therefore night shall be unto you, that ye shall not have a vision; and it shall be dark unto you, that ye shall not divine; and the sun shall go down over the prophets, and the day shall be dark over them. 7 Then shall the seers be ashamed, and the diviners confounded: yea, they shall all cover their lips; for there is no answer of God. 8 But truly I am full of power by the spirit of the LORD, and of judgment, and of might, to declare unto Jacob his transgression, and to Israel his sin. Many persons go to church expecting personally to be helped by the pastor and they do next walk away disappointed. Their first normal mistake was having any personal expectations of any help from the Pastors, even though this may be an honest expectation, for our help is in the Lord and all our expectations should come only of Him.  Try to go to church expecting only to see Jesus Christ, to get any desired help from Jesus only, and not any man,or women, and expect nothing else, have no expectation of any good from the pastors, elders and you certainly will next not be disappointed.

(1 Cor 4:21 KJV) What will ye? shall I come unto you with a rod, or in love, and in the spirit of meekness?

(2 Cor 10:1 KJV) Now I Paul myself beseech you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ,

(Gal 5:23 KJV) Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.(Gal 6:1 KJV) Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.(Eph 4:2 KJV) With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;(Col 3:12 KJV) Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;(1 Tim 6:11 KJV) But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.(2 Tim 2:25 KJV) In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;(Titus 3:2 KJV) To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, showing all meekness unto all men.

(James 1:21 KJV) Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.

(James 3:13 KJV) Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him show out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.

(1 Pet 3:15 KJV) But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

When I encounter crooked evangelical pastors and I have many times. I first talk to them personally or write to them alone and I do ask them to repent.. and I have next helped to fire many of them too.. the ones who refused to repent.

It has also been decades of my own experiences in my own  rightfully complaining about unacceptable negatives that still a written letter sent to the right party works best, a letter sent to the the people who have the power to make changes, and that includes all of the news editors  and the elected representatives too, for  that public exposure and prosecution of the guilty persons serves everyone’s best interest. I am a prolific writer who has now for decades written a wide range of social, moral, political  issues  but I too  was surprised as to how much attention comparatively the the Bell posts  are getting now. But for some reasons Bell still is not getting enough attention by the government..  They really still do not care about the citizens concerns? Only their own perks, expense accounts, etc..

And..

http://gigaom.com/2008/04/22/shocking-new-facts-about-p2p-and-broadband-usage/
Here’s an interview of Arbor Networks CTO Danny McPherson. Arbor Networks makes network management and traffic shaping tools for the ISPs so he has interesting data on bandwidth usage.

According to his interview, only 20 percent of traffic is P2P applications. During peak-load times, 70 percent of subscribers use http while 20 percent are using P2P. Http still makes up the majority of the total traffic, of which 45 percent is traditional web content that includes text and images. Streaming video and audio content from services like YouTube accounts for nearly 50 percent of the http traffic.

That would mean, from a traffic shaping point of view it’s not even a that useful to bug p2p users since most of the lag is caused by youtube and it’s cousins – and Bell certainly has these statistics.

>>the latest customer service mail out today from Bell: “Download movies at warp speed. Nothing is more important than speed when it comes to downloading movies and music. Don’t let viruses, Trojans and worms slow down your computer. We have tips to put your PC in overdrive.” as if it were viruses, Trojans and worms who were slowing down music and movie downloads…

not only is this  a typical Bell misdirection, another false Bell diversion but it is a misleading Bell ploy merely to earn more money by selling more of Bell  services, for Bell  they really do notcare about the customer’s best interest firstly but only their own… as we Bell customers all seem to know firsthand too.

 >>The mainstream media doesn’t even have a clue.

or they does not care to take on Bell after all CTV and the Globe &Mail they are part of Bell… speaking of monopolies, and more governmental regulations here they are now needed too.

God’s triune nature

Believers and nonbelievers alike supposedly have a difficult time comprehending God’s triune nature,  and what they cannot understand that water exists as ice, liquid, steam?  and those that do understand are alleged to have a difficult time explaining it?  As the false critics of the Trinity are quick to point out, the word “Trinity” is not found in the Bible, and no single verse provides a summary of the Trinitarian doctrine.  Of course they have not looked too hard in the Bible for God is often referred to as being in plural form.. such as “Let us make man in our image”..  composed of a spirit, soul, body

Complicating the issue are various misconceptions about the Trinity within Christianity as well as from without.  There are many different branches of the world relgions,  cults now too often as well..  Conformity and Unity is a rare item theses days in any relgion.. so is love it seems..

“In an email we received, LDS apologist D.L. Barksdale said, “The homoousion Trinitarian dogma is heretical to anyone who cherishes the Bible. It is an unbiblical doctrine…”

Jehovah’s Witnesses and Mormons tend to disregard the Trinity, believing that Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are three distinct gods, with the Father being a greater God than the other two.  Jehovah’s Witnesses especially emphasize the subordination of the Godhead, believing Jesus to be Michael the Archangel – a created being, and a lesser “god” than Jehovah.  Mormon doctrine is polytheistic (worship of multiple gods), though some Mormons will stress that their belief is henotheistic (belief in multiple gods, but worship of only one).

Mohammad’s misunderstanding of the Trinity was apparently affected by the hyperdulia veneration of Mary seen in the Eastern and Roman Catholic churches, as the Qur’an accuses Christians of believing the Trinity to be composed of God the Father, Jesus, and Mary.

Indeed, the doctrine of the Trinity can pose a stumbling block for some people.  A Jehovah’s Witness sent us an email that included the following (the English is poor, but you’ll see the point):  “And when I can not find in any Bible that I read that there is a 3 headed god that will resurrect anyone on this earth, both now or ever. If this 3 headed god is your belief? I have never read about such a god in any Christian Bible that I have ever read!”  As I told this man, we agree that the Bible does not teach of a three-headed god.  That sounds more akin to the hydra of Greek mythology.  Yet this illustrates the extent of the misunderstandings.  Even Christian churches have been victimized by erroneous doctrines such as modalism, particularly Oneness theology.

We may never fully understand the nature of God until we get into heaven.  God is omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent, and eternal.  Our finite created minds are unable to fully grasp these characteristics of God.  However, it is possible to have a basic understanding of the triune nature of God, and to be able to defend this doctrine with the Word of God.  In this article, we’ll assess the Scriptural evidence and put the pieces together until they form a full picture.  A triune God will be the only possible verdict based on an objective analysis of the Scriptural evidence.

The doctrine of the Trinity can be summed up as follows:  Within the one Being that is God, there exist eternally three coequal and coeternal Persons, namely, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.[1] In order to prove this doctrine we must prove the following:

  1. There is only one God

  2. The Father is God

  3. Jesus is God

  4. The Holy Spirit is God

  5. The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are three distinct Persons.

Each point above is very important, and we will clearly illustrate each.  Heresy arises when these distinctions are blurred.  For instance, modalism (also known as Oneness theology) would agree with items one through four, but item five is where modalism fails.  However, as James White said in regards to the doctrine of the Trinity, “For some reason many feel that there is a hierarchy of ‘error’ when it comes to the Trinity…. We are to worship God in spirit and in truth, and two-thirds of the truth is not a valid substitute, no matter which one-third of His truth we choose to reject.”[2]

There is a treasure trove of Scriptures to support each of the points we’ll be studying.  To keep this article at a reasonable length, where there are several relevant verses, I’ll limit the full verse quotation to two verses (in NIV, unless stated otherwise), and give the Scripture references for the rest.

1.  There is only one God:

Islam, Judaism, and Christianity are known as the big three monotheistic religions.  You won’t find many arguments among Muslims, Jews, and Christians that there is more than one God, except perhaps among some aberrant sects.  Nevertheless, let us establish this Scripturally before we move on to areas where disagreements will arise.

A.  There is only one God:

  • “You were shown these things so that you might know that the LORD is God; besides him there is no other.” – Deuteronomy 4:35

  • “This is what the LORD says- Israel’s King and Redeemer, the LORD Almighty:  I am the first and I am the last; apart from me there is no God.” – Isaiah 44:6

  • Other Old Testament Verses: Deut. 4:39; 32:39; 2 Sam. 22:32; Isa. 37:20; 43:10; 44:6-8; 45:5, 14, 21-22; 46:9.

  • “How can you believe if you accept praise from one another, yet make no effort to obtain the praise that comes from the only God?” – John 5:44

  • “…since there is only one God, who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through that same faith.” Romans 3:30

  • Other New Testament Verses: Rom. 16:27; 1 Cor. 8:4-6; Gal. 3:20; Eph. 4:6, 1 Tim. 1:17; 2:5; James 2:19; Jude 25.

B.  There is only one true God:

  • “But the LORD is the true God; he is the living God, the eternal King.  When he is angry, the earth trembles; the nations cannot endure his wrath.” – Jeremiah 10:10

  • “We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is true–even in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.” – 1 John 5:20.

  • Other verses: 2 Chron. 15:3; John 17:3; 1 Thess. 1:9.

C.  All other so-called “gods” are false gods.

  • “For all the gods of the nations are idols, but the LORD made the heavens.” – Psalm 96:5

  • “So then, about eating food sacrificed to idols: We know that an idol is nothing at all in the world and that there is no God but one.” – 1 Corinthians 8:4

  • Other verses:  Deut. 32:21; 1 Sam. 12:21; Isa. 37:19; 41:23-24, 29; Jer. 2:11; 5:7; 16:20; 1 Cor. 10:19-20.

The verses above are clear evidence that there is only one God.  This is known as monotheism.  Judaism, Islam, and Christianity are known as the three great monotheistic religions.  However, Islam and Judaism will fall off as we continue our support of the Trinity.

2.  There is a plurality to God.

The Hebrew word for God is el in its singular form.  The most common form used for God is elohim, which is plural in form.  How can there be plural form used for only one God?  Some suggest that the answer is found in the three persons of the Trinity.  Others contend that the plural construct denotes a fullness of deity as opposed to plurality.  I submit that both interpretations are correct.  I’m getting ahead of myself now though.  Rather than look at all the verses that use the plural elohim, let’s look at other verses that point to a plurality within the one God

  • “Let us make man in our image” – Genesis 1:26, emphasis added.

  • “God said, ‘Behold, the man has become like one of us…’” – Genesis 3:22, emphasis added.

Some would say that God could be speaking to the angels in these verses, but that’s simply not correct. God was speaking to co-creator(s) in these verses (“Let us make man…”).  Who could be a co-creator?  Not the angels.  The answer is found later in this article.

3.  The Father is God.

This isn’t really an item that is in question.  While God the Father is only known as the Father in the New Testament, Christians, Jews, Muslims, and pseudo-Christian cults understand that the Father in the New Testament is the Yahweh of the Old Testament, though some disagree with the characterization of “Father”.  However, it is important to establish that the Father of the New Testament is the true God referred to in the Old Testament, known often as Yahweh, or “Jehovah”.[3]

A.  The Father is God.

  • “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort,” – 2 Corinthians 1:3

  • “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.” – Ephesians 1:3

  • Other verses:  John 17:3; 1 Cor. 8:6; 1 Peter 1:3; (Note: Some verses seem to indicate that Jesus is not God at first glance.  These will be explained later).

B.  The God of the Old Testament is known as Yahweh/Jehovah (“The LORD”).

  • “You were shown these things so that you might know that the LORD is God; besides him there is no other…. Acknowledge and take to heart this day that the LORD is God in heaven above and on the earth below. There is no other.” – Deuteronomy 4:35, 39.[4]

  • “Know that the LORD is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.” – Psalm 100:3

  • Other verses:  Gen. 9:26; 24; Exo. 3:14-18; 4:5; 2 Sam. 7:22, 25.

From the verses above, it is clear that Yahweh/Jehovah in the Old Testament is the one God.  It is also clear that the Father in the New Testament is that one God.  Now, let’s look at whether Jesus Christ is God.  Remember, there is only one God.  There is also a mysterious plurality to this one God.  We have established that the Father is Yahweh, the God of the Old Testament.  We now explore the plurality in the one true God.

4.  Jesus is God.

There is a great deal of Scriptural evidence that Jesus Christ is God.  The evidence is comprised not only of specific statements, but also in prophecy fulfillment and his attributes.  Let’s first look at some of explicit Scriptural evidence.  In this section, we won’t limit ourselves to only giving the text of two verses.

  • “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God…. No one has ever seen God, but God the One and Only, who is at the Father’s side, has made him known.” – John 1:1

  • “Thomas said to him, ‘My Lord and my God!’” – John 20:28

I want to pause just a moment to discuss the verses above.  The Greek word for God is theos.  In John 1:1, we read that the Word (Jesus) was with theos and was indeed theos.  Jesus was (and is) God!  This is a very powerful statement!  The word theos is used not only in John 1:1, but also in verse 18 and in John 20:28.  Theos is used in the New Testament in reference to Jehovah/Yahweh God.  Theos is also used in reference to Jesus.  We’re beginning to see the plurality found within the one God.

  • “You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being.” – Revelation 4:11 (the words of the 24 elders to Jesus).

  • “…Be shepherds of the church of God, which he bought with his own blood.” – Acts 20:28

Once again, in the verses above Jesus is referred to as theos.  In Acts 20:28, we know that Jesus shed His blood for the church, and as one person of the triune God, this action is the action of God.  Now let’s look at some common compound references to Jesus:

  • “…the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ” – Titus 2:13

  • “…To those who through the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ have received a faith as precious as ours” – 2 Peter 1:1

In the passages above, both “God” and “Savior” are used in reference to Jesus Christ.  There is no division of the clause.  Scholar Robert Reymond writes, “The two nouns [‘God’ and ‘Savior’] both stand under the regimen of the single definitive article preceding ‘God,’ indicating…that they are to be construed corporately, not separately, or that they have a single referent.”[5] In other words, attempts to divide this clause into a reference to God and a separate reference to Jesus as Savior flies against the Greek grammatical construct.  These verses provide additional powerful and clear evidence that Jesus is Jehovah/Yahweh God.  Let’s now turn our attention to more verses that reveal Jesus to be Jehovah/Yahweh.

  • “That if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved…. for, ‘Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’” – Romans 10:9,13.  Note: Paul reveals Jesus to be the same “Lord” referred to in Joel 2:32, which he quotes.  In Joel 2:32, “LORD” is Jehovah/Yahweh.

  • “…that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” – Philippians 2:10-11.  Note: “Lord” = Jehovah/Yahweh.

  • “…now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.” – 1 Peter 2:3.  This verse is taken almost identically from Psalms 34:8, where “Lord” is Jehovah/Yahweh.  From the verses that follow verse 3, it is clear this is a reference to Jesus.

Another way we know that Jesus is Jehovah/Yahweh comes from the fulfillment of an Old Testament prophecy.  Zechariah 12:10 says, “And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplication. They will look on me, the one they have pierced, and they will mourn for him as one mourns for an only child, and grieve bitterly for him as one grieves for a firstborn son.”  This verse is part of an oracle given by Jehovah/Yahweh.  This passage starts off in verse 1, “This is the word of the LORD concerning Israel. The LORD, who stretches out the heavens, who lays the foundation of the earth, and who forms the spirit of man within him, declares…” Jehovah/Yahweh prophesies that He will be pierced.  It is widely accepted among scholarly circles that this was fulfilled in the crucifixion and spearing of Jesus Christ.  This is confirmed in Revelation 1:7 wherein we read concerning Jesus, “Look, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him; and all the peoples of the earth will mourn because of him. So shall it be! Amen.”  This is important enough to go over again.  In Zechariah 12:10, Jehovah/Yahweh prophesies that He (Jehovah/Yahweh) will be pierced, and people will mourn for Him.  Jesus Christ is pierced through his hands and feet at his crucifixion, and pierced through the side with a spear while on the cross.  Revelation 1:7 confirms this fulfillment of prophecy.  Conclusion?  Jesus Christ is Jehovah/Yahweh!

Another evidence that Jesus is Jehovah/Yahweh comes from His role as Savior.  Isaiah 43:11 says, “I, even I, am the LORD, and apart from me there is no savior.”  Yet Jesus is referred to many times in the New Testament as our Savior (Luke 2:11; John 4:42; Acts 13:23; Eph. 5:23; Phi. 3:20; 1 Tim. 1:1; 2 Tim. 1:10; Tit 1:4; 2:13; 3:6; 2 Pet. 1:1,11; 2:20; 3:2,18; 1 John 4:14).

Jesus caused no small uproar among the Jews of the day because He accepted praise and worship – blasphemous if He were not God!  As we have seen, only God is the savior of men.  Matthew 21:1-11 describes Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem.  He came riding in on a donkey, in fulfillment of an Old Testament messianic prophecy (Zec. 9:9). As Jesus rode in, we find the crowds that surrounded him shouting “Hosanna to the Son of David!” “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Hosanna in the highest!”  Webster’s 1913 dictionary defined Hosanna as “A Hebrew exclamation of praise to the Lord.”  The word is derived from a Hebrew word that meant “Save us,” in a prayer directed to God.  This shows that the crowd viewed Jesus as God and Savior.  It is important to note that Jesus did not rebuke the crowd for this praise.  In verse 15, we find that the chief priests and Pharisees were outraged and indignant at this (because, as we said, this would be blasphemy for a mere man).  Children had followed Jesus in to the temple are and were still shouting, “Hosanna to the Son of David!” In verse 16, they asked Jesus if He could hear what the children were saying.  No doubt they were shocked that he would not have straightened out the blasphemy of these little urchins.  But Jesus did not rebuke the children.  Instead, He answered, “Yes. Have you never read, ‘From the lips of children and infants you have ordained praise’?”  Additionally, in John 9:35-39 we read the following exchange:

35Jesus heard that they had thrown him out, and when he found him, he said, “Do you believe in the Son of Man?
36“Who is he, sir?” the man asked. “Tell me so that I may believe in him.”
37Jesus said, “
You have now seen him; in fact, he is the one speaking with you.”
38Then the man said, “Lord, I believe,” and he worshiped him. [emphasis added]
39Jesus said, “
For judgment I have come into this world, so that the blind will see and those who see will become blind
.

Jesus accepted worship.  This is not adoration of a mere prophet, but praise and worship due only to God.  Jesus was either God or He was crazy, and there is ample evidence against the latter and in support of the former.  Further evidence comes from the fact that Jesus has many of the attributes of God:

  • Creator (John 1:3, 1 Cor. 8:6; Col 1:16-17; Heb. 1:2; Rev. 3:14)

  • Unchanging (Heb. 1:10-12; 13:8)

  • Eternal (John 1:1; 8:58; 17:5; Col. 1:17; Heb. 1:2)

  • Omniscient (John 16:30)

  • Omnipresent (Matt. 18:20; 28:20; John 3:13; Eph. 1:23; 4:10; Col. 3:11)

It is clear from the Scriptural evidence above that Jesus is God.  He is the LORD (Jehovah/Yahweh) of the Old Testament, and therefore is the one true elohim or theos.  He shares this role as God with the Father.  As we are about to see, He also shares this role with the Holy Spirit.

5.  The Holy Spirit is God

Less Scripture is dedicated to the Holy Spirit, but there is enough to conclude that He too is God.  In Acts 5:3-4, we see the Holy Spirit being equated with God:

  • “Then Peter said, ‘Ananias, how is it that Satan has so filled your heart that you have lied to the Holy Spirit and have kept for yourself some of the money you received for the land? Didn’t it belong to you before it was sold? And after it was sold, wasn’t the money at your disposal? What made you think of doing such a thing? You have not lied to men but to God.’” [emphasis added]

Paul clearly and explicitly equated the Holy Spirit with God:

  • “Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.” – 2 Corinthians 3:17-18

Additional evidence of the deity of the Holy Spirit comes from the shared attributes of the deity.  The Holy Spirit is:

  • Eternal (Heb. 9:14)

  • Omniscient (1 Cor. 2:10-11)

  • Omnipresent (Psa. 139:7)

  • Savior (Rom. 8:1-27)

In addition to the attributes above, we find the Holy Spirit was involved in creation (Gen. 1:2; Psa. 104:30), the incarnation (Matt. 1:18,20; Luke 1:35), and the resurrection (Rom. 1:4; 8:11).  This is ample evidence to show that the Holy Spirit is God.  We have now proven Scripturally that there is only one God.  We have also proven that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit can each lay claim to being God.  However, one can believe in all this, and still subscribe to the erroneous belief of modalism.

Modalists believe that there is only one God, but believe God to be comprised of one Person who simply manifests Himself at different times through Father, Son, or Holy Spirit.  In other words, modalists believe that God is one in substance as well as essence – the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are not distinct persons.  As we shall see, modalism fails because the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are indeed three distinct persons.

6.  The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are three distinct persons.

A.  Jesus is not the Father:      First, let’s turn our attention to Matthew 28:19, “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit”.  The grammatical construction of this verse is very revealing with regards to Trinitarian doctrine.  First, each person of the Trinity is identified individually with use of the definite article preceding each (the Father…the Son…the Holy Spirit).  The use of the definite article for each person of the Trinity identifies each as unique and distinct from the others.  Yet at the same time, this verse groups each into a singular entity by use of the singular form “the name of”.  What is this name?  The singular name of God is Yahweh/Jehovah, and the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit share that name.  Other verses identify the Father and the Son as two separate persons (John 3:17, 35; 5:22-23, 31-32; 8:16-18; 11:41-42; 12:28; 14:31; 17:1-26; Rom. 1:7; 1 Cor. 1:3; 15:24-28; 2 Cor. 1:2; Gal. 1:3; 4:4; Eph. 1:2; 6:23; Phil. 1:2; 1 Thess. 1:1; 2 Thess. 1:1-2; 1 Tim. 1:1-2; 2 Tim. 1:2; Tit. 1:4; Phm. 3; James 1:1; 2 Pet. 1:2; 1 John 4:10; 2 John 3).

B.  Jesus is not the Holy Spirit:  The first evidence of this is discussed in detail in the preceding paragraph – Matthew 28:19 identifies the Son and the Holy Spirit as separate persons, using definite articles preceding each.  Next, Jesus tells us that He would send the Holy Spirit (“When the Counselor comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father, he will testify about me.” – John 15:26).  This verse is revealing in that each person of the Trinity is mentioned as separate individual persons.  Key elements in this verse include 1) Jesus will send the Holy Spirit, 2) from the Father, 3) the Holy Spirit will go out from the Father, 4) and will testify about Jesus.  Another verse that identifies Jesus and the Holy Spirit separately is John 16:7, “But I tell you the truth: It is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Counselor will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.”  Here we have two important elements: 1) Jesus will go away, and 2) send the Holy Spirit.  Since Jesus arose and ascended in his physical human body, the Spirit He sends is not Jesus Himself.  Another important verse is John 14:16, “And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever” (emphasis added).  Once again, the elements are here to show that Jesus, the Father, and the Holy Spirit are separate.  Jesus said He would ask the Father.  If Jesus were simply a manifestation of the Father, then He would be asking Himself, which sounds neurotic rather than orthodox.  The verse also refers to the Holy Spirit as “another Counselor” separate from Jesus.

C.  The Father is not the Holy Spirit:  Once again, the first bit of evidence is given in Matthew 28:19 as discussed before.  John 14:16, and 15:26 also remain as evidence that the Father and Holy Spirit are distinct persons.  As we delved into each verse in the preceding paragraph, we won’t do so again.  We also find Paul describing in Romans 8:26-27 that the Holy Spirit intercedes for us with the Father.  If the Holy Spirit were the same person as the Father, he would not need to intercede with himself.

Now let’s address another Scripture that makes it clear that the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are three different persons.  Luke 3:21-22 covers the baptism of Jesus Christ, “When all the people were being baptized, Jesus was baptized too. And as he was praying, heaven was opened and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: ‘You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.’”  Each person is described separately here.  First, note that Jesus was praying.  If Oneness theology were correct, Jesus would be praying to Himself.  Once again, that smacks of neurosis.  Instead, Jesus was praying to the Father.  As He did, the Holy Spirit descended on Jesus in a physical manifestation like a dove.  The voice of the Father was then heard from Heaven, speaking to the Son.  This highlights that each person of the Trinity is unique and separate.

7.  Conclusion:

It is clear from a reading of the Bible that there is only one God, known in the Old Testament as Yahweh/Jehovah.  It is clear that the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are each God (Yahweh).  It is also clear, in contrast to Oneness theology (Unitarian modalism), that each person is separate and distinct from the other.  One God in three persons – the Biblical Trinity.

Ontology is important in understanding the Trinity.  Ontology is the study of “being.”  As James White said, “It is vitally important that we recognize the difference between the words Being and Person…. Being is what makes something what it is.  Person is what makes someone who he or she is…. when speaking of the Trinity, we speak of one what (the Being of God) and three whos (the three divine Persons).  Most cultic rejections of the Trinity focus on blurring the distinction.”[6]

Are you still having a difficult time comprehending the triune nature of God?  That’s understandable.  The laws to which we are bound define our comprehension.  God’s nature transcends these laws.  If we could fully comprehend God’s nature, he would cease to be Almighty God.  He would be lesser than He truly is.  I am a devotee of analogies.  One analogy I like to use with regards to the Trinity is my computer.  My computer consists of input devices (mouse and keyboard), output devices (monitor, printer, speakers), and the central processing unit.  These different components form my one computer.  This analogy fails to capture the full complexity of the substance of God, but it can help someone to grasp the basic relationship.

It is true, as so many Mormons, Muslims, and Jehovah’s Witness are inclined to point out, that there is no concise, clear teaching of the Trinity in the New Testament or Old Testament.  However, by such reasoning, there is also no clear teaching regarding smoking or illicit drug use.  Yet by examining Scripture in its greater context, it is clear that our body is the temple of God (1 Cor. 6:19) and Paul urges us to purify ourselves from things which contaminate the body (2 Cor. 7:1).  Similarly, by examining the sum of Scripture in immediate and greater context, it is clear that God is triune.  He is one God, eternally existent in three divine persons – the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.  We must be able to defend this biblical doctrine if we are to effectively contend for the truth of the gospel.

[Author’s note:  In the coming weeks, we will post a follow-up article to examine and refute the most common objections raised against the Trinity by various cults, such as the Jehovah’s Witnesses and the Mormon Church.]

1.  James R. White, Loving the Trinity, (Christian Research Journal, Volume 21/ Issue 4).

2.  Ibid.

3.  The Hebrew name for God is YHWH – four consonants only.  Because of a nearly superstitious fear of taking the Lord’s name in vain, the Jews avoided using this name, and often used the name Adonai.  Eventually, the vowels from Adonai were included in YHWH to form Yahowah.  Today, this name is often spelled in English, Yahweh.  As a human contrivance, Yahowah mutated to Jehovah in some manuscripts.  Yahweh and Jehovah are considered synonymous, and mean “The LORD.”  The Hebrew word for “God” is el or elohim.

4.  In these verses, and the ones that follow, “LORD” is Yahweh/Jehovah, and “God” is elohim.  It is important to note that el is singular, but elohim is plural.  Since the Bible is clear that there is only one el, the plurality of elohim can present a conundrum.  This problem is resolved by the doctrine of the Trinity – three divine Persons in one God.  One should also note that the New World Translation (The Bible of the Jehovah’s Witnesses) and the ASV leave out “LORD” and simply include “Jehovah”.

In a motion adopted unanimously by all parties in the National Assembly yesterday, the motion affirms Quebecers’ “attachment to our religious and historic heritage represented by the crucifix” in the assembly. But the motion also reaffirms the promotion of the French language, “the history, culture and values of the Quebec nation in a spirit of openness and reciprocity,” borrowing language from the report. The commissioners suggest that judges, crown prosecutors, police officers, prison guards and the speaker and deputy speaker of the assembly refrain from wearing religious signs. But teachers, civil servants, health professionals and all other government employees could continue to wear religious signs. “The crucifix is about 350 years of history in Quebec that none of us are ever going to erase and of a very strong presence, in particular, of the Catholic church, and that’s our reality.” “As the premier of Quebec, my first role is the supreme responsibility to protect and perpetuate the French language,” and it’s culture, Premier Jean Charest. Charest called on the opposition parties to join the government in adopting Bill 63, which proposes an interpretive clause, affirming the equality of women and men in Quebec’s human rights charter

The Catholics themselves now have not denied that Jesus Christ is Lord God for 2000 years too..

How Quebcers differ from the rest of Canada in their views..

The  April 2009 poll, by Angus Reid Strategies for Maclean’s, surveyed 1,002 randomly selected Canadians on religion.
    RELIGIOUS TOLERANCE: POLL HIGHLIGHTS

    – 70% of Canadians hold a positive view of Christianity

    – 41% hold a positive view of Hinduism

    – 30% hold a positive view of Sikhism

    – 45% believe mainstream Islam encourages violence

    – 44% Nationally would not want their child to marry a person of Jewish faith. Even fewer would be comfortable with a Sikh or a Muslim. In Quebec, that number rises

    – 62% Nationally  think laws and norms should not be modified to accommodate minorities. In Quebec, that number rises to 74%.

Across Canada, 72 per cent said they have a “generally favourable opinion” of Christianity. At the other end of the spectrum, Islam scored the lowest favourability rating, just 28 per cent. Sikhism didn’t fare much better at 30 per cent, and Hinduism was rated favourably by 41 per cent. Both Buddhism, at 57 per cent, and Judaism, 53 per cent, were rated favourably by more than half the population

A mere 17 per cent of Quebecers said they have a favourable opinion of Islam, and just 15 per cent view Sikhism favourably. Only 36 per cent of Quebecers said they hold a favourable opinion of Judaism, far below the national average, and in sharp contrast to neighbouring Ontario, where 59 per cent expressed a favourable view of the Jewish religion. “ .., all religions were regarded less positively in Quebec than in Canada as a whole, including Christianity, which 67 per cent of Quebecers view favourably, five points below the Canadian average.  Buddhism’s favourability rating of 57 per cent is four points higher than Judaism, . Buddhism was the only religion, including Christianity, for which more than half of people who said they don’t have a friend of that faith held a favourable opinion of it anyway.

When asked if they thought “the mainstream beliefs” of the major religions “encourage violence or are mostly peaceful,” only 10 per cent said they thought Christianity teaches violence. But fully 45 per cent said they believe Islam does, and a sizable 26 per cent saw Sikhism as encouraging violence. By comparison, just 13 per cent perceived violence in Hindu teachings and 14 per cent in Jewish religion. A tiny four per cent said they think of Buddhism as encouraging violence. By far the highest percentage who viewed Islam as encouraging violence was found in Quebec, 57 per cent. Sikh doctrine is mostly likely to be viewed as violent in the province where about half of Canadian Sikhs live: 30 per cent of British Columbians said they think Sikhism encourages violence.

Angus Reid also took that debate national, asking how far governments should go to accommodate minorities. A strong majority of 62 per cent agree with the statement, “Laws and norms should not be modified to accommodate minorities.” A minority, 29 per cent, agreed with the alternative statement, “On some occasions, it makes sense to modify specific laws and norms to accommodate minorities.” Another nine per cent weren’t sure. In Quebec, 74 per cent were against changing laws or norms, the highest negative response rate on the accommodation question in the country

The Angus Reid poll   found 51 per cent oppose funding of Christian schools, and the level of opposition soars from 68 per cent to 75 per cent for all other religions. On even hotter-button religious issues, opposition is overwhelming. Only 23 per cent would allow veiled voting, and just three per cent Islamic sharia law—an even lower level of support than the eight per cent who would allow polygamy. There’s substantial sympathy for recognizing religious holidays, 45 per cent, but a solid majority still opposes the idea.

Three-quarters of Canadian voters who attend evangelical churches (such as Baptist, Mennonite and Pentecostal) opted for the Conservative Party of Canada. In general Protestants, who nominally make up 30 per cent of the population, tend to split their vote between the two major parties.

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” (Matthew 28:19) and  “The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all” (2 Corinthians 13:14).

The Trinity is a Christian doctrine, stating that God is one being who exists, simultaneously and eternally, as a mutual indwelling of three persons:   the Father, the Son (incarnate as Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit. ie. the one God exists in three Persons and one substance, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, The belief in the Trinity, is a mark of Oriental and Eastern Orthodoxy, Roman Catholicism and all the mainstream protestant Churches. The non Christian churches that do not support this, include theUnitariaty Church and the Mormons- the Latter Day Saints.

To support Trinitarianism, Bible exegetes cite references to the Trinity, to Jesus as God, and both to God alone and to Jesus as the Savior.

Bible  References to the Trinity
A few verses directly reference the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit:
Matthew 3:16–17: “As soon as Jesus Christ was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and landing on him. 17And a voice from heaven said, ‘This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.’ ” (also Mark 1:10–11; Luke 3:22; John 1:32)
Matthew 28:19: “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” (see Trinitarian formula).
2 Corinthians 13:14: “The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with all of you.”
1 John 5:7–8: “For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.” (This is the controversial Comma Johanneum, which did not appear in Greek texts before the sixteenth century.)
Luke 1:35: “The angel answered and said to her, ‘The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; and for that reason the holy Child shall be called the Son of God.’ ”
Hebrews 9:14: “How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God!”

 Jesus as God
Many verses in John, the epistles, and Revelation imply support for the doctrine that Jesus Christ is God and the closely related concept of the Trinity. The Gospel of John in particular supports Jesus’ divinity. This is a partial list of supporting Bible verses:
John 1:1 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” together with John 1:14 “The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.” and John 1:18 “No one has ever seen God, but God the One and Only, who is at the Father’s side, has made him known.”[22]The Bible says “God the One and Only” in NIV.
John 5:21 “For just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, even so the Son gives life to whom he is pleased to give it.”
John 8:23–24: “But he continued,’You are from below; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world. I told you that you would die in your sins; if you do not believe that I am [the one I claim to be], you will indeed die in your sins.'”
John 8:58 “I tell you the truth”, Jesus answered, “before Abraham was born, I am!
John 10:30: “I and the Father are one.”
John 10:38: “But if I do it, even though you do not believe me, believe the miracles, that you may know and understand that the Father is in me, and I in the Father.”
John 12:41: “Isaiah said this because he saw Jesus’ glory and spoke about him.”—As the context shows, this implied the Tetragrammaton in Isaiah 6:10 refers to Jesus.
John 20:28: “Thomas said to him, ‘My Lord and my God!'”
Philippians 2:5–8: “Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death—even death on a cross!”
Colossians 1:15: “He [Jesus] is the image of the invisible God”
Colossians 1:16: “For by him [Jesus] all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him.”
Colossians 1:17: “He [Jesus] is before all things, and in him all things hold together.”
Colossians 2:9: “For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form”
Titus 2:13: “while we wait for the blessed hope—the glorious appearing of our great God and Saviour, Jesus Christ.”
1 Timothy 3:16: “And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.”
Hebrews 1:8: “But about the Son he [God] says, “Your throne, O God, will last for ever and ever, and righteousness will be the scepter of your kingdom.”
1 John 5:20: “We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is true—even in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.”
Revelation 1:17–18: “When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. Then he placed his right hand on me and said: “Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last. I am the Living One; I was dead, and behold I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades.” This is seen as significant when viewed with Isaiah 44:6: “This is what the LORD says—Israel’s King and Redeemer, the LORD Almighty: I am the first and I am the last; apart from me there is no God.”

The Bible also refers to Jesus as a man, which is in line with the Trinitarian concept that Jesus was fully human as well as fully divine which is expressed through the theological concept of kenosis.

God alone is the Savior and the Savior is Jesus
.
The Old Testament identifies the LORD as the only savior, and the New Testament identifies Jesus Christ as God and Savior.
Isaiah 43:11: “‘I, even I, am the LORD, and apart from me there is no savior.'”
Titus 2:10: “and not to steal from them, but to show that they can be fully trusted, so that in every way they will make the teaching about God our Savior attractive.”
Titus 3:4: “But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared”, in regard with:
Luke 2:11: “‘Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord.'”
Acts 20:28: “‘the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.'”
Titus 2:13: “while we wait for the blessed hope-the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ”
John 4:42: “They said to the woman, “We no longer believe just because of what you said; now we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this man [Jesus] really is the Savior of the world.'”
Titus 3:6: “whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior”
.
In 325, the Council of Nicaea adopted a term for the relationship between the Son and the Father that from then on was seen as the hallmark of orthodoxy; it declared that the Son is “of the same substance” (ὁμοούσιος) as the Father. This was further developed into the formula “three persons, one substance”. The answer to the question “What is God?” indicates the one-ness of the divine nature, while the answer to the question “Who is God?” indicates the three-ness of “Father, Son and Holy Spirit”.

.

The Holy Spirit of God is the Spirit of God, fully divine.” That means that in every way He is equal with God the Father and God the Son. He possesses their attributes and character. He is omnipresent, omniscient, omnipotent and holy. He is eternal, immutable, righteous, just and loving. And, as the third person of the Holy Trinity, He is a person. When Jesus speaks of the Holy Spirit, say in John 14:26 for example He uses the masculine personal pronoun when He says, “But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit – the Father will send Him in My name – will teach you all things and remind you of everything I have told you.”  The Holy Spirit is a unique person with the characteristics which define a person. Acts 5:3 tells us that it is possible to lie to Him and Acts 7:51 tells us it is possible to resist Him. And Acts 13:2 tells us that He speaks.

.

Jesus had said that without Him and his Holy Spirit you can do nothing.. nothing everlasting, or significant too. yet people falsely do try to redefine Jesus, Divorce the Holy Spirit or try to redefine the Holy Spirit with false doctrines, vanities still to day.

.

A very lively good church is led by the Holy Spirit and the  right, godly leaders.. and  in a very bad church   the shepherds are bad.. led mostly by the devil and self.  And believe me when I say most shepherds are bad still. Great demonic confusion surrounds thus the  Christian doctrine of the baptism of the Holy Spirit even among the Baptists, Evangelicals, Dispensationalists, even Jews  mainly because there are too many ignorant  fools who  try to teach, explain something they themselves have still have never personally experienced yet.

.

It would be one thing if Mormonism, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Unitarian Jews, and Oneness Pentecostals all had similar religions, practices, and beliefs. But they do not. Their religions, practices, and beliefs ALL WILDLY DIVERGE. THE ONLY THING THAT THEY HAVE IN COMMON IS THAT THEY ALL USE THE SAME ARGUMENTS TO DENY TRINITY AND USE THE SAME LANGUAGE TO DESCRIBE THOSE WHO BELIEVE IN IT.

.

The Assembly of God Pentecostals do support the Trinity doctrine  https://postedat.wordpress.com/2008/07/03/assemblies-of-god-pentecostals/

TD Jakes has a huge ministry and a wide influence, but much of what he teaches is very troubling. Some of what he teaches is even heretical. .a Oneness Doctrine.  Oneness Pentecostalism (aka Jesus Only) resurfaced around 1913 just after the Azusa Street Pentecostal revival. It is itself another revival of what has been called Sabellianism (after Sabellius excommunicated 220 AD) and Modalistic (modes; ways) Monarchianism (one king). I can tell you assuredly that TD Jakes believes there is one God. We do as well. However, he believes God is a single (cognizant ego) person who showed (manifested) himself, and/or acted in three different ways (modes or dimensions).

.

That the Son was the Creator clearly disproves firstly the Oneness position.  If the Son did not eternally exist with the Father as a distinct Person why is it that the “Son” can say, “Now, Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had [eichon, or “shared”] with You before the  world  was” (emphasis added)?  How did the Son have (literally, actively possessed) glory with (para) the Father before time if the Son did not exist before Bethlehem?. John 1: 1  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2    The same was in the beginning with God. 3    All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4    In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 5    And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not…  and this  all substantiates “the eternal pre-existence of the Son”.

.

The oldest available recorded Christian hymn, Hail, Gladdening Light!, which was being sung as early as 150 AD, is utterly Trinitarian! The church tradition generally holds that the Gospel of John and Revelation were the last books of the New Testament and that one or the other was written as late as 96 AD, as the beloved disciple apostle John lived an exceptionally long time. So this hymn was being sung than 60 years after the New Testament was completed and the apostle had John died. This doctrine was not an add on later.

Hail, gladdening Light, of his pure glory poured,
who is immortal Father, heavenly blest;
Holiest of Holies, Jesus Christ our Lord!

Now are we come to the sun’s hour of rest;
the lights of evening round us shine,
we hymn the Father, Son and Holy Spirit divine.

Worthiest art thou at all times to be sung,
with undefiled tongue,
Son of our God, Giver of life, alone!
Therefore in all the world thy glories, Lord, they own.

.

The Bible declares God the Father, called the Ancient of Days (see Daniel 7, especially verses 9, 13, and 22) to be King in various places. The Bible declares God the Son, called the Angel of the Lord in His preincarnate form (see Joshua 5:14-15, also Exodus 3:4-6 cross referenced with Exodus 3:2Acts 7:30Acts 7:35 ) and the Word of God (John 1:1-18, Proverb 8 especially verse 30) and Jesus Christ to be King. However, the Holy Spirit, called the Spirit of God the Father (Matthew 10:20Isaiah 61:1, Luke 4:18) and the Spirit of God the Son (Galatians 4:6, Romans 8:9, Isaiah 61:1Luke 4:18) is never declared to be King by scripture at any time.  How is this possible if you support a Oneness doctrine?

.

God is God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit — three Persons, one God. Tertullian (160-215 AD) explained, “We define that there are two, the Father and the Son, and three with the Holy Spirit, and this number is made by the pattern of salvation… They are three, not in dignity, but in degree, not in substance but in form, not in power but in kind. They are of one substance and power, because there is one God from whom these degrees, forms and kinds devolve in the name of Father, Son and Holy Spirit” (Adv. Prax. 23; PL 2.156-7

.

The true Christian Church had always believed: that the Son is fully God, coeternal with God the Father and God the Holy Spirit. The formulation of the complete Bible now was also made about  this time.  The New Testament was written in the first century before 100 A.D. by the Apostles of Jesus and his brothers. So now for 2000 years true Christians have supported Jesus being, God, the trinity, the whole Bible, and have opposed polygamous marriages too. Part of the valid critics of the newer Bible translation over the King James versions is they water down the deity of Christ, and the Trinitarian concept of God, they water down the shed blood of Jesus Christ too, etc.. and cause just as many errors as they were supposedly to help solve.

A Biblical canon or canon of scripture ] is a list or set of Biblical books considered to be authoritative as scripture by a particular religious community, generally in Judaism or Christianity.Christian canons. These lists, or canons, have been developed through debate and agreement by the religious authorities of those faiths. Believers consider these canonical books to be inspired by God or to express the authoritative history of the relationship between God and his people. Books excluded from a particular canon are considered non-canonical —There are differences between the Jewish and Christian canons
.
Development of the Christian Biblical canon. The Biblical canon is the set of books Christians regard as divinely inspired and thus constituting the Christian Bible. Though the Early Church used the Old Testament according to the canon of the Septuagint (LXX)[12], the apostles did not otherwise leave a defined set of new scriptures; instead the New Testament developed over time.  while there was a good measure of debate in the Early Church over the New Testament canon, the major writings were accepted by almost all Christians by the middle of the second century. In his Easter letter of 367, Athanasius, Bishop of Alexandria, gave a list of exactly the same books as what would become the New Testament canon,   and he used the word “canonized” (kanonizomena) in regards to them.  ] The African Synod of Hippo, in 393, approved the New Testament, as it stands today, together with the Septuagint books, a decision that was repeated by Councils of Carthage in 397 and 419. These councils were under the authority of St. Augustine, who regarded the canon as already closed.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biblical_canon

>>Amen, Thenonconformer. I think the problem lies in people looking for a specific verse that tells them an exact answer. These are the ones who demand we stay ONLY in context. Doing this is right in many cases, but it is often like looking at one square inch on a vast painting, and thinking they see the whole picture. We see the Trinity by seeing MANY parts of the picture God painted in the Bible.
.
True.
.
PEOPLE ARE LAZY AND WANT AN OVER SIMPLIFIED RELIGION, GOSPEL, BIBLE.. AND 95 PERCENT OF THE CHRISTIANS EVEN NOW  DO NOT READ THE BIBLE FOR THEMSELVES FOR MORE THAN  5 MINUTES A DAY, SO THEY BELIEVE MOSTLY WHAT OTHERS HAD SAID ABOUT THE BIBLE.
.
It is sad but true.. too many false pastors, false teachers, false cults, false denominations with hidden agenda take advantage of this void and lead the professing Christian sheep astray next, helped by the devil in all of this too undeniably.

and it is not true that God, Jesus, Holy Spirit speak only through the Bible.. http://pbulow.tripod.com/voice.html

We Stand as One with Israel

We Stand as One with Israel’s need  to be saved even today by Jesus Christ alone.

Sixty years ago  a nation of Israel was re born in a day . Was this an act of the flesh? or an approved act of God?  but there is  no new Tesament justifcation for it though.. why?

Emaciated Jews from 1945 to 1948, stumbled out of Europe’s death camps liberated by the Allies, but they had no place to go. Their homes and possessions were destroyed or confiscated and their family members murdered. Many of the survivors believed that the only place in the world they might find safety again would be back in their ancient homeland – the land of Israel.  But they never did find that safety and never will not while they continue to reject Jesus Christ as their personal savior, as their rightful messiah. ‘

(Acts 2:21 KJV)  And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.  22  Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:23 Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:

Distorted, Isolated verse from the old testament are often taken to justify Israel’s return to the promise land, while there still is not one new testament verse supporting this return at all and why? The land solely belongs to Jesus Christ firstly now.. he alone had redeemed it.

(Mat 23:36 KJV)  Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation. 37  O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not! 38  Behold, your house is left unto you desolate. 39  For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord. 24:1  And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to show him the buildings of the temple. 2  And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down. 3  And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? 4  And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. 5  For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. 6  And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7  For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. 8  All these are the beginning of sorrows. 9  Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake. 10  And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. 11  And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. 12  And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. 13  But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. 14  And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. 15  When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) 16  Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains: 17  Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house: 18  Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes. 19  And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days! 20  But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day: 21  For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22  And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened. 23  Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. 24  For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. 25  Behold, I have told you before. 26  Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not. 27  For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 28  For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together. 29  Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: 30  And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31  And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. 32  Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: 33  So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. 34  Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled. 35  Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. 36  But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. 37  But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 38  For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, 39  And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.  40  Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. 41  Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left. 42  Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. 43  But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. 44  Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh. 45  Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season? 46  Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing. 47  Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods. 48  But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; 49  And shall begin to smite his fellow servants, and to eat and drink with the drunken; 50  The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of, 51  And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Here it is very clear in the Old Testament too – God has transferred all of the ownership, rulership  kingship of Israel to Jesus Christ himself

Prophecy

>>”‘Be eager to prophesy’ (39). Preaching God’s Word to the people is important. It is not everything. It is to be accompanied by prayer and praise. Many come to hear ‘the preacher’. Few gather to pray that the whole service of worship will be filled with the presence of the Lord. Some come to hear a ‘sermon’. They show little real enthusiasm for worshipping the Lord. They want ‘the Word’. There is no real heart for worship, witness, and work. The preacher’s public performance becomes more important than the prayerful praise of God’s people. ‘All things’ are ‘done decently and in order’ yet the atmosphere is forbidding. The Spirit of God is not moving freely among the people of God (39-40). Let there be less talking about the preacher and more concern with giving all the praise and glory to the Lord.”

There is a lot of good meat in this short passage too.  Prophecy is certainly not defined in the Bible, in the new Testament  as solely preaching God’s word from the Bible but it does not contradict the Bible .. and prophecy  is not solely   telling the future.. or is just telling about the second coming of Jesus Christ back to earth, the great tribulation comming next too on earth.. Prophecy it is a present divinely led personal utterance from God, a specific word for his people, it is also the interpretation in an understandable language of a prayer in tongues..

(Rom 12:6 KJV)  Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;

And this post is so true, a Holy Sprit led service is activated firstly by prayer, praise and worship of God  and next it is also unpredictable, fresh, alive, so very different from the boring, rigid sermonized approaches we do these days have in many churches.

“Surely the Lord God does nothing, unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets.  A lion has roared! Who will not fear?  The Lord God has spoken!  Who can but prophesy?”  Amos 3:7,8

(1 Cor 14:39 KJV)  Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues. 40  Let all things be done decently and in order.

(1 Cor 14:13 KJV)  Wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret.

(Rev 19:10 KJV)  And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

All Prophecy always exalts the Lord Jesus Christ and not any man, person, denomination..

(1 Cor 14:26 KJV)  How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying. 27  If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret. 28  But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God. 29  Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge. 30 If any thing be revealed to another that sitteth by, let the first hold his peace. 31  For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted. 32  And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets. 33  For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints. 34  Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law. 35  And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.(1 Cor 14:39 KJV)  Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues. 40  Let all things be done decently and in order. (John 10:27 KJV)  My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:The other Other denominations do wrongfully limit to God speaking to us only in his Words the Bible or through only the preacher.  Now the word of God is generally revealed to us in two different ways. There is written direct Scripture (the Greek word logos), which shows us all  God’s general will. There are next also times when the Holy Spirit quickens a particular Scripture or otherwise gives us a direct word (the Greek word rhema) concerning God’s specific will in a particular  situation. We have to be open to both ways too.

Prophecy is certainly not defined in the Bible, in the new Testament  as solely preaching God’s word from the Bible but it does not contradict the Bible .. and prophecy  is not solely   telling the future.. or is just telling about the second coming of Jesus Christ back to earth, the great tribulation coming next too on earth.. Prophecy it is a present divinely led personal utterance from God, a specific word for his people, it is also the interpretation in an understandable language of a prayer in tongues..

PROPHECY IS PERSONALLY PROCLAIMING DIRECTLY GOD’S WORD SPECIFICALLY FOR A SPECIFIC GROUP.. Not necessarily now even Israel, but the Church, individual Believers.

You do not have to be a Prophet to prophecy, in fact all believers are encouraged to use the gift of prophecy firstly too. (John 17:21 KJV)  That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. (1 Cor 14:31 KJV)  For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted.  (Rev 19:10 KJV)  And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

All Prophecy always exalts the Lord Jesus Christ.

The Christian People who have learned to use faithfully the gifts of prophecy tend to become God true Prophets. God’s prophets ALSO TOO do work two ways. Most of the time, they speak forth God’s will in accordance with Scripture. At certain times, they will EVEN foretell future events.  In real life, prophecy works like a combination of the Word of Wisdom and Faith. The prophet operates in the Lord’s wisdom, and speaks in faith in obedience to the Holy Spirit.

There are also false prophesying.

(Jer 2:8 KJV)  The priests said not, Where is the LORD? and they that handle the law knew me not: the pastors also transgressed against me, and the prophets prophesied by Baal, and walked after things that do not profit.

Remember

(2 Cor 5:10 KJV)  For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

(Rev 22:12 KJV)  And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.
