Hear the word of God

1 Sam 3:10 And the LORD came, and stood, and called as at other times, Samuel, Samuel. Then Samuel answered, Speak; for thy servant heareth. 11 And the LORD said to Samuel, Behold, I will do a thing in Israel, at which both the ears of every one that heareth it shall tingle. 12 In that day I will perform against Eli all things which I have spoken concerning his house: when I begin, I will also make an end. 13 For I have told him that I will judge his house for ever for the iniquity which he knoweth; because his sons made themselves vile, and he restrained them not.14 And therefore I have sworn unto the house of Eli, that the iniquity of Eli’s house shall not be purged with sacrifice nor offering for ever.Yes we are all to listen to God, his voice, and his word..
..
2 Cor 13:9  For we are glad, when we are weak, and ye are strong: and this also we wish, even your perfection.
10  Therefore I write these things being absent, lest being present I should use sharpness, according to the power which the Lord hath given me to edification, and not to destruction.11  Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you. 12  Greet one another with an holy kiss.

Many people say we should only read, hear God’s words in the Bible, even cause the rest of the time they are actually, falsely doing their own thing even… they realy cannot still hear God’s direct voice, leading to them.

Some people seem amazed that God can, and will now speak to his children, given the proper conditions being met, but me I am often amazed how is it that so many people cannot hear God, as to what un-confessed, un-repented of sins are obstructing their relationship with him now.. http://postedat.wordpress.com/2009/01/21/god-speaks/

Wrongfully the Evangelical Christian movements of today is a powerless gospel movement rather, for it still tends to have none of the rugged reality of the Word of God of the New Testament about them in reality. There is nothing about them that needs the personal application of death of Jesus Christ. The need of Dying to self now is rarely mentioned. All that is mostly required is a false religious walk, of a pious atmosphere, prayer, and devotion. This type of experience is no longer marked by the supernatural nor miraculous. This new age Christianity it did not avail itself yet of the cost of  the sufferings of God, nor is it stained with “the blood of the Lamb” (Rev 12:11 KJV)  And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.  The rather new  Evangelical Christian movements, or mostly religious empire building are also clearly marked by a dearth, the visible absence of the direct mention of the word of God itself, rather indirect  reference are only mostly still made to the Bible and verses, and the actual meat content is replaced by the mere words, views of mere men.   It is also wrongfully  not marked or sealed by the Holy Spirit as being a genuine personal work, and it is no wonder then it has no visual personal evidences, sign that causes people to exclaim with awe and wonder, “That is the work of God Almighty!” The New Testament in reality is still centered about the  awesome, continual work of God in individual’s life and in the Churches. So no wonder the Evangelical Christian movements of today so often does not have the empowerment to draw men to God, Jesus Christ.

The clear, definite. exemplary, undeniable  New Testament example of a valid personal Christian experience, life  is that of a personal, passionate commitment, devotion, following  to the Person of Jesus Christ marked by a loyalty to the word of God. Every other kind of the false Christian experience is wrongfully now detached from the Person of Jesus. Where there is no regeneration— no being personally born from above, born again into the kingdom in which Christ lives and reigns supreme through the word of God, the Bible. False Christian portrays Jesus Christ is being only  an optional pattern to follow. In the New Testament Jesus Christ is the Savior that lived  vividly and in reality long before He is the supposed mere  pattern. Christ  He is being falsely portrayed as the figurehead of a religious movement— another mere example. He is that, but He is infinitely more. He is still our personal salvation from hell itself; He is the living, embodied gospel of God!

Jesus said, “. . . when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, . . . He will glorify Me . . .” (John 16:13-14  ). When I committed myself to accepting the revealed truth of the New Testament, I then had receive from God also the gifts of the Holy Spirit, who then begins also interpreting to me what Jesus did and is. And next he Spirit of God, Of Jesus Christ himself  now lives also in me.

(1 Sam 9:27 KJV)  And as they were going down to the end of the city, Samuel said to Saul, Bid the servant pass on before us, (and he passed on,) but stand thou still a while, that I may show thee the word of God.

(Acts 18:11 KJV)  And he continued there a year and six months, teaching the word of God among them.

(Acts 19:20 KJV)  So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed.

(Rom 9:6 KJV)  Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel:

(Rom 10:17 KJV)  So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

(1 Cor 14:36 KJV)  What? came the word of God out from you? or came it unto you only?

(2 Cor 2:17 KJV)  For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.

(2 Cor 4:2 KJV)  But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.

(Eph 6:17 KJV)  And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

(Col 1:25 KJV)  Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God;

(1 Th 2:13 KJV)  For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.

(1 Tim 4:5 KJV)  For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.

(Titus 2:5 KJV)  To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

(Heb 4:12 KJV)  For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

(Heb 11:3 KJV)  Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

(Heb 13:7 KJV)  Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation.

(1 Pet 1:23 KJV)  Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

(Rev 1:2 KJV)  Who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw.

(Rev 1:9 KJV)  I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.

(Rev 6:9 KJV)  And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:

(Rev 19:13 KJV)  And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

(Rev 20:4 KJV)  And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

Fret not

Psalm 37:1  A Psalm of David. Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.
2  For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.
3  Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.
4  Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
5  Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.
6  And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday.
7  Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.
8  Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.
9  For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth.
10  For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be.
11  But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.
12  The wicked plotteth against the just, and gnasheth upon him with his teeth.
13  The Lord shall laugh at him: for he seeth that his day is coming.
14  The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, and to slay such as be of upright conversation.
15  Their sword shall enter into their own heart, and their bows shall be broken.
16  A little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked.
17  For the arms of the wicked shall be broken: but the LORD upholdeth the righteous.
18  The LORD knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be for ever.
19  They shall not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.
20  But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the LORD shall be as the fat of lambs: they shall consume; into smoke shall they consume away.
21  The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again: but the righteous showeth mercy, and giveth.
22  For such as be blessed of him shall inherit the earth; and they that be cursed of him shall be cut off.
23  The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.
24  Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand.
25  I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.
26  He is ever merciful, and lendeth; and his seed is blessed.
27  Depart from evil, and do good; and dwell for evermore.
28  For the LORD loveth judgment, and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.
29  The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell therein for ever.
30  The mouth of the righteous speaketh wisdom, and his tongue talketh of judgment.
31  The law of his God is in his heart; none of his steps shall slide.
32  The wicked watcheth the righteous, and seeketh to slay him.
33  The LORD will not leave him in his hand, nor condemn him when he is judged.
34  Wait on the LORD, and keep his way, and he shall exalt thee to inherit the land: when the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see it.
35  I have seen the wicked in great power, and spreading himself like a green bay tree.
36  Yet he passed away, and, lo, he was not: yea, I sought him, but he could not be found.
37  Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace.
38  But the transgressors shall be destroyed together: the end of the wicked shall be cut off.
39  But the salvation of the righteous is of the LORD: he is their strength in the time of trouble.
40  And the LORD shall help them, and deliver them: he shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in him.

(Psa 37:29 KJV)  The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell therein for ever.

Negative consequences and Positive rewards are part of God’s personal management of others now too, Believe it or not! Mind you most of us, cause the devil readily whispers in our ears that this is a lie, tend to find out this truth is true  mostly the hard way, sadly. That includes the length of our life on earth. a topic often covered in the Bible now too,  for now I too have seem many really wicked, unrepentant  persons die an early, sudden, unexpected death. And I know that God provides extra life, healing to his faithful children as well.

(Gen 13:  KJV)  14  And the LORD said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward: 15  For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever. 16  And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then shall thy seed also be numbered. 17  Arise, walk through the land in the length of it and in the breadth of it; for I will give it unto thee.

(Deu 30:20 KJV)  That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.

(Job 12:  KJV)  9  Who knoweth not in all these that the hand of the LORD hath wrought this? 10  In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind. 11  Doth not the ear try words? and the mouth taste his meat? 12  With the ancient is wisdom; and in length of days understanding. 13  With him is wisdom and strength, he hath counsel and understanding. 14  Behold, he breaketh down, and it cannot be built again: he shutteth up a man, and there can be no opening. 15  Behold, he withholdeth the waters, and they dry up: also he sendeth them out, and they overturn the earth. 16  With him is strength and wisdom: the deceived and the deceiver are his. 17  He leadeth counsellors away spoiled, and maketh the judges fools. 18  He looseth the bond of kings, and girdeth their loins with a girdle. 19  He leadeth princes away spoiled, and overthroweth the mighty. 20  He removeth away the speech of the trusty, and taketh away the understanding of the aged. 21  He poureth contempt upon princes, and weakeneth the strength of the mighty.  22  He discovereth deep things out of darkness, and bringeth out to light the shadow of death. 23  He increaseth the nations, and destroyeth them: he enlargeth the nations, and straiteneth them again. 24  He taketh away the heart of the chief of the people of the earth, and causeth them to wander in a wilderness where there is no way. 25  They grope in the dark without light, and he maketh them to stagger like a drunken man.

(Psa 21:  KJV)  :1  To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. The king shall joy in thy strength, O LORD; and in thy salvation how greatly shall he rejoice! 2  Thou hast given him his heart’s desire, and hast not withholden the request of his lips. Selah. 3  For thou preventest him with the blessings of goodness: thou settest a crown of pure gold on his head. 4  He asked life of thee, and thou gavest it him, even length of days for ever and ever. 5  His glory is great in thy salvation: honour and majesty hast thou laid upon him. 6  For thou hast made him most blessed for ever: thou hast made him exceeding glad with thy countenance. 7  For the king trusteth in the LORD, and through the mercy of the most High he shall not be moved. 8  Thine hand shall find out all thine enemies: thy right hand shall find out those that hate thee. 9  Thou shalt make them as a fiery oven in the time of thine anger: the LORD shall swallow them up in his wrath, and the fire shall devour them. 10  Their fruit shalt thou destroy from the earth, and their seed from among the children of men. 11  For they intended evil against thee: they imagined a mischievous device, which they are not able to perform. 12  Therefore shalt thou make them turn their back, when thou shalt make ready thine arrows upon thy strings against the face of them. 13  Be thou exalted, LORD, in thine own strength: so will we sing and praise thy power.

(Prov 3:  KJV)  1  My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments: 2 For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.

(Prov 3:  KJV) 13  Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding. 14  For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold. 15  She is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her. 16  Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honour. 17  Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace. 18  She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is every one that retaineth her. 19  The LORD by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath he established the heavens. 20  By his knowledge the depths are broken up, and the clouds drop down the dew. 21  My son, let not them depart from thine eyes: keep sound wisdom and discretion: 22  So shall they be life unto thy soul, and grace to thy neck. 23  Then shalt thou walk in thy way safely, and thy foot shall not stumble. 24  When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet.

And who does not want to live a long life, but do stupid things and you will die sooner for sure..

(Ezra 7:23 KJV)  Whatsoever is commanded by the God of heaven, let it be diligently done for the house of the God of heaven: for why should there be wrath against the realm of the king and his sons?

or
(Deu 28:31 KJV)  Thine ox shall be slain before thine eyes, and thou shalt not eat thereof: thine ass shall be violently taken away from before thy face, and shall not be restored to thee: thy sheep shall be given unto thine enemies, and thou shalt have none to rescue them.

or
(Deu 28:7 KJV)  The LORD shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way, and flee before thee seven ways.

(2 Sam 7:23 KJV)  And what one nation in the earth is like thy people, even like Israel, whom God went to redeem for a people to himself, and to make him a name, and to do for you great things and terrible, for thy land, before thy people, which thou redeemedst to thee from Egypt, from the nations and their gods?

(Psa 52:9 KJV)  I will praise thee for ever, because thou hast done it: and I will wait on thy name; for it is good before thy saints.

(Psa 68:7 KJV)  O God, when thou wentest forth before thy people, when thou didst march through the wilderness; Selah:

(Psa 89:14 KJV)  Justice and judgment are the habitation of thy throne: mercy and truth shall go before thy face.

(Dan 10:12 KJV)  Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words.

(Rev 3:9 KJV)  Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.

It’s your choice now too..

(Eccl 7:17 KJV)  Be not over much wicked, neither be thou foolish: why shouldest thou die before thy time?

You can run but you can’t hide

A good name is worth more than silver or Gold, and a tarnished one is worthless, but also very painful; generally.. Public exposure and prosecution of the guilty serves everyone’s best interest. I too had learned decades ago that the pen is mightier than the sword of the crooks, bullies, pretenders, imposters. Starting at the top is always the best way now too   http://mediamyopic.com/2008/12/16/foreclosure-facebook-style/

Hey I admit it I hate crooks, the bad guys

- I dislike the bad cops and Bad RCMP in Canada
- I dislike all bad Professionals, bad civil and public servants and their too often poor managers now too
- I really dislike Bad Politicians, especially ex PM Paul Martin, Stephen Harper
- I dislike rightfully bad Pastors, and all alcoholics now too
- I have always disliked bad, crooked computer dealers too..
- I really also dislike Bell Canada rightfully as well and the CRTC..

We in Canada also  still do need real accountability, and the real beefing up of the enforcements, regulations against the much too many con artists liars, thieves, crooks, imposters, pretenders. being basically motivated by greed, increasing the profits. Bait and switch,  Misleading advertising, Unfair and Restrictive business trade practices seem to be a common thing in the Internet Service Providers  industry too, especially since generally the ISP are unregulated both by the Courts and the governments. It is a sad reality that even what is advertised is also next what the customer next consistently gets. “  The first biggest unacceptable bad culprits still who need to be fired ASAP are those rather toothless, pretentious, federal and provincial consumer Ministers and their mostly bad subordinates. Healthy Competition was supposedly a good way to decrease  the prices and increase the services, but instead we get price fixings, unfair and restrictive trade practices.. which still all reminds me of the bad immoral Conservative Prime Minister Stephen Harper trying to murder all of the opposition  out of existence too.. for he himself is no better as a leader, example of ethics, morality too. We do need still  a new real,  tougher cop on the beat. to strengthen all business, financial regulatory agencies and crack down on runaway “greed and scheming” , to really clean up the worlds of politics , finance, business and really  help to put in help put in place new, common-sense rules of the road that will protect investors, consumers and our entire economy from fraud and manipulation by an irresponsible few caused also by a  lack of “adult supervision” and  managers not being    as aggressive as they should in properly managing subordinates, others. Conservative  and Liberal governments administration’s laissez-faire philosophy is also  allowing excessive risk and corruption at the highest echelons and also by too many people with a false disdain for regulation. We need more activist regulatory approaches,  no-nonsense regulators. Too many of these crooks are still governed by a mentality governed by the principle that, “whatever is good for me, I do.”  Behave Honourable or you will be fired, terminated message  needs to be to apply to a range of social, physical, financial, governmental  institutions — and to individuals across right across the board. A real  restoration of a sense of responsibility, personal accountability  and the notions of  advocating beneficial values not just for ourselves, but what’s good for the others, the country as a whole, operating in reality out of a sense of what is being done is for the common good , Our too often poor Regulators do unacceptably “drop the ball,” and have failed to crack down on the bad culture of greed and scheming, to take seriously their own responsibility to “operate honourably.  The CRTC also itself has not put much of a dent in fraud, abuses,  and the entire system needs an overhaul. The CRTC also has missed too many red flags in its oversight of it’s duties, responsibilities..

“You can run but you can’t hide. This week a court in Australia ruled that social networking sites are an adequate medium for mortgage lenders to notify borrowers that they’re losing their homes. Barry Schnitt, a Facebook spokesperson, reportedly told news outlets that, “we’re pleased to see the Australian court validate Facebook as a reliable, secure and private medium for communication.” Schnitt may want to re-think his enthusiasm, as people are already crying Big Brother. But social networking users are rather naive to have ever thought these sites would serve strictly social purposes. First came the advertisers, then media began citing the pages as legit sources, employers followed suit, and now colleges are evaluating personal profiles in the admissions process. Once we disclose personal information in a public realm, albeit a virtual one, the public has little recourse in claiming rights to privacy.”

The consistent, ongoing Symbols of the Holy Spirit In the Bible

The Holy Spirit: Power from on High

Power is also a  symbol of the person  of Holy Spirit  (Acts 1:8 KJV)  But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. (Acts 10:38 KJV)  How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

The consistent, ongoing Symbols of the Holy Spirit In the Bible  include  Wind, Air, Breathe, fire, water, oil, truth, light, power  as well.

But the Comforter, which is the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send  in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things  to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. – John 14:26  And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened,  and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him.–Mark 1:10

Various symbols are used in the Bible to represent the Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ, God now  including a dove, wind, light, oil, and fire and others, where  each symbol emphasizes a different, permanent, aspect, attribute  of the same the person of the Holy Spirit.

The Dove – The Hebrew word for dove is yohnah and is derived from the word anah, meaning, “to mourn,” showing that the name comes from its characteristic mournful coo. The dove was the preferred bird for sacrifice if only one bird was used, and usually mentioned first when both a dove and a pigeon were required. Doves has been called “the sheep of the bird world” because of their gentle disposition. They are noted for their devotion to their mates.  The dove is thus used as a representation of the holy spirit apparently because of its sympathetic nature, compassion for the human race. Jesus by his Holy Spirit   demonstrated   compassion by healings and miraculous feedings of the multitudes, and by his willingness to give the ultimate sacrifice of his own life for mankind’s salvation.

Oil- Note twenty-third psalm says, “Thou anointest my head with oil.”  Isaiah 11:2, “The spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, 1) the spirit of wisdom and understanding, 2) the spirit of counsel and might, 3) the spirit of knowledge and 4) of the fear of the LORD.” (See also Exodus 31:3.)-

Individuals were anointed for a specific service, the leaders and  Kings were anointed,   Priests were anointed, Psalm 133:1,2. A Prophet was anointed such as  Elijah was told to anoint Elisha as his successor (1 Kings 19:16). Jesus was anointed. “And Moses took the anointing oil and anointed the tabernacle and all that was therein, and sanctified them. . . . And he poured of the anointing oil upon Aaron’s head, and anointed him to sanctify him.” − Leviticus 8:10,12  “The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek . . . ” − Isaiah 61:1  These two texts show direct close connection between the holy anointing oil and the work of the holy spirit.

Oil for healing  “Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord” (James 5:14). The word here translated sickness in the next verse is astheneo, and literally means “without strength” and may refer to spiritual depression as well as physical sickness. In verse 15 the word sick is the Greek kamnos and is translated “be wearied” in Hebrews 12:3. http://pbulow.tripod.com/healing.html

Oil for medical treatment: “From the sole of the foot even to the head there is no soundness in it, but wounds, and bruises, and putrefying sores: they have not been closed, neither bound up, neither mollified with ointment” (Isaiah 1:6). The Good Samaritan “bound his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.” When Jesus  sent out the twelve disciples two by two, among other acts they “cast out many devils, and anointed with oil many that were sick, and healed them” (Mark 6:13).

Oil  used as a moisturizer, Soap and toiletries.  . It was with this balm that a woman ministered unto Jesus in the Pharisee’s house. Jesus said, “My head with oil thou didst not anoint; but this woman hath anointed my feet with ointment” (Luke 7:46). Likewise the prophet writes, “Then washed I thee with water; yea, I thoroughly washed away thy blood from thee, and I anointed thee with oil” (Ezekiel 16:9).

Oil   as fuel, source of light (John 16:13 KJV)  Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come.14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall show it unto you.15  All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall show it unto you.

Note the golden lampstand in the holy of the tabernacle (Exodus 35:14). The operation of these lampstands can be seen by comparing Zechariah 4:1-14 with Revelation 11:1,2. In Zechariah the oil for the lampstand’s seven lamps comes from two olive trees, which are identified in Revelation as God’s “two witnesses” (the Old and New Testaments). The seven pipes carrying the oil represent the means of conveying this oil to the lamps, i.e., the seven messengers of Revelation 2 and 3.

The concept of the oil of the Holy Spirit being used for a proper light is also shown in the parable of the wise and foolish virgins (Matthew 25:1-13). There the supply of oil distinguishes the one group from the other. This illustrates how  professing  Christians with a sufficiency of the holy spirit become a part of the  final wedding party with Christ, while those having little or none next do not.

Fire and light are symbols of the Holy spirit again. Fire itself also   signifies  destruction or purging as in the refining of metals. On Pentecost we meet yet another representation of the holy spirit. Along with the sound of a mighty rushing wind “there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them” (Acts 2:3).   (Isa 5:24 KJV)  Therefore as the fire devoureth the stubble, and the flame consumeth the chaff, so their root shall be as rottenness, and their blossom shall go up as dust: because they have cast away the law of the LORD of hosts, and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.

Wind is another common symbol of the work, presence of the Holy Spirit.  The Greek and Hebrew words translated “spirit” (pneuma and ruach) are also translated either “wind” or “breath ” Both the words wind and breath are also used in close conjunction with the Holy Spirit himself, as can be seen from these texts:

“And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a mighty rushing wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting . . . and they were all filled with the holy spirit.” – Acts 2:1,2,4 “And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the holy spirit.” – John 20:22

We find, in the original creative process, that the breath of God was the activating force in giving life to Adam: “The LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living soul” (Genesis 2:7). Likewise it is the spirit that gives life to the true Christian and it is the same spirit that will eventually raise all mankind from the grave and endow them with new life.

Thus the distinct aspects of the Holy Spirit are shown by these symbols which picture the functions the holy spirit is to desirably  play in each of our lives:

AND YET WHILE MANY EVEN PREACHERS TALK ABOUT THE HOLY SPRIT THEY HAVE YET TO EVEN TRULY EXPERIENCE HIM PERSONALLY. They Have not been born  even FROM above or anointed  by the breathe of Christ’s spirit. So they talk about him as an “it” rather.. and thus show their void reality.

”The spirit breathes where HE  will, and YOU  hear HIS voice, but YOU DO NOT KNOW  FROM WHERE HE CAME , or where he goes; thus it is so with every one who has been born of the spirit” (John 3:8 ).

Not everyone next has yet been born from above too. But Ye Must be born again said Jesus to enter Heaven next.

and what about you have you recieved the anointing of the Holy Spirit in full yet? Never to late to do so as well.

“Someone once said ” Lord, fill me daily with your Holy Spirit for I am a leaky vessel. Let us come each day afresh to the Lord for that fresh in filling of the Holy Spirit. That our cup my be over flowing. http://peebles.wordpress.com/2007/09/01/psalm-23-v-5-he-anoints-my-head-with-oil-my-cup-over-flows/

Acts 1 V 8 says “ But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” God wants our lives to be power full for him, with joy in the Holy Spirit, for as the Bible says in Romans 14 v 17 ” For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit “.

We should never take for granted, that we are filled with Gods Holy Spirit. Each and every day, would it not be a good idea to ask the Lord, ” Lord please fill me a fresh with your Holy Spirit, anoint my head again a fresh with the Holy Spirit, fill my cup and let it over flow with the peace, power and joy in the Holy Spirit “. Thank you Jesus.

May the Lord anoint you head with oil, may your cup over flow.”

After the elections Sarah Palin?

Now that the election is over, and Barack Obama has been elected as the 44th President… are we still going to hear about Sarah Palin? Or will her name become obsolete? After elections, the opponent that loses usually disappears within a week after the election… but this is Sarah Palin we’re talking about…

75 percent of evenagelicals still did not vote for Obama, or 49 percent of the voting US population..

“The media is already harping on the fact that 60 percent of voters expressed doubts about Sarah Palin being ready to take over as President should something happen to John McCain.

But if you study the exit polls carefully, there is no evidence that this fact actually influenced the vote.

When people were asked if Palin’s presence on the ticket was an important factor in their decision, 60 percent answered yes, 33 percent no. But of the 60 percent that said yes, 56 percent ended up voting McCain versus 43 percent Obama.

On the other hand, of the 33 percent that said no, only 33 percent voted McCain versus 64 percent Obama.

What does this mean? People who thought Palin’s presence on the ticket was important were more likely to vote McCain by a significant margin. So the media is allowing their bias to influence the interpretation of the data.

You can look even closer than that. Palin was picked specifically to influence a few key demographics for the Republicans – women, independents, white evangelicals and gun owners:

- White women voted McCain/Palin 53-46. That’s within the margin of error for how Bush/Cheney score with the same group in 2004, 55-44.

- White independents voted McCain/Palin 49-47. There are no comparable data on this group for 2004, but we do know that independents went for Kerry 49-48 in 2004, and 52-44 for Obama this year. It’s safe to conclude that the swing to Obama in this category was caused by non-white independents voting overwhelmingly for the Democratic ticket.

- White evangelical/born again cCristians voted McCain/Palin 74-24 in 2008, which is slightly lower than the 78-21 breakdown in 2004. But their share of the total vote was larger this time than last time (26 percent in 2008 versus 23 percent in 2004), so on balance the white evangelical/born again contribution to the Republican vote was probably about the same size as it was in 2004.

- Gun owners voted for McCain/Palin in the same numbers they voted for Bush/Cheney last time round: 62-37 in 2008 versus 63-36 in 204

So, in those four major target groups, Palin delivered the goods for the McCain campaign. These are groups that were skeptical about McCain before Palin joined the ticket.

In all four categories, the McCain/Palin share of the vote was virtually identical to the Bush/Cheney share in 2004. That seemed impossible before Sarah Palin.

Sarah Palin will be a force to be reckoned with over the next four years.”

Sarah Palin In 2012

It was a teary-eyed Sarah Palin who waved to the crowd in Phoenix last night and is now on her way home to Alaska to split time as Governor and Mom.

She has a son in Iraq, a daughter pregnant and an infant with Down Syndrome.

She has her hand’s full.

But she has made it clear that this is not the last we will see of Sarah Palin.

“I’m not doing this for naught,” Palin said last week, when asked if all the mudslinging in the campaign made her long for a return to the more sedate politics of Alaska, where she is governor.

After McCain’s stinging loss, Palin, 44, has emerged as one of the strongest brands the Republicans have got.

As one of the most recognisable figures in a party searching for direction and new leadership, Palin’s future role will be a major theme when Republican heavyweights weigh up strategies for the 2010 mid-term congressional elections.

“She definitely is going to be the most popular Republican in this country when this thing is over,” Republican strategist Ed Rollins, and former political director to president Ronald Reagan, told CNN before the election.

And the carefully coiffed conservative Christian who cast herself as a maverick, a reformer and an anti-corruption star, has clearly indicated the 2008 run wasn’t an end-all to her national political ambitions.

“I think that, if I were to give up and wave a white flag of surrender against some of the political shots that we’ve taken, that would bring this whole” endeavour to nothing, Palin told ABC last week.

In the last pre-election episode of NBC’s Saturday Night Live, comedienne Tina Fey, in her much lauded role impersonating Palin, made a show of “going rogue” from the McCain campaign talking points by trying to hawk “Palin 2012″ t-shirts.

At Republican rallies in recent weeks supporters too have been seen displaying “Palin 2012″ shirts and banners.

There has been talk in Hollywood of Sarah Palin getting a talk show; talk in Washington of Sarah Palin as the best fundraiser the Republicans have; talk in Alaska of Sarah Palin running for the Senate.

There is a world of options in front of Sarah Palin. She is the star of the Republican Conservative base and if you think she will stay in Alaska for long – you’re wrong.”

Obama triumphs, will be first black US president The Associated Press -  WASHINGTON (AP) – Barack Obama was elected the nation’s first black president Tuesday night in a historic triumph that overcame racial barriers as old as America itself.

John McCain’s White House bid: What went wrong?

Tue. Nov. 4 2008 10:21 PM ET CTV.ca News  For the second time in eight years, Arizona Sen. John McCain failed in his bid to reach the White House. In the coming days and weeks television analysts, newspaper pundits, and political scientists will likely try to unravel the reasons McCain fell short this year. But a few key causes may already stand out.  There is little doubt that Barack Obama ran one of the best organized campaigns in U.S. presidential history, and the Democrat and his staff were largely responsible for McCain’s loss. But McCain, himself, did not help his cause. http://www.ctv.ca/servlet/ArticleNews/story/CTVNews/20081104/mccains_loss_081104/20081104?s_name=uselection2008

The Eagle and The Olive Branch

Prophetic vision over America a NOW Vision

In worship Wednesday night 29 October /08 I was taken up by the wings of love …far up above the earth, above the America continent.  I ascended being carried by such love and adoration for mankind. I could feel the gentle touch of the Presence that escorted me beyond the earthly realm. I was peering down into the earth when I spotted a ring of fire.

It surrounded the White House .

Then it surrounded the city of Washington DC the Capitol and all the Monuments and the ENTIRE CITY

Instantly coming from behind me was a new wind… in this wind was the American bald eagle he was soaring with great strength

He soared past me not one wing flapping in  his eyes were  blazes of fire.

He was totally focused on Washington DC. in his beak He carried an olive branch .

This eagle soared all across the DC. area and around the White House. He did this several times.

Then he took off and went north… Moving very fast  soaring

The wind of the Spirit was in His Wings and he moved not wing he just soared

It went to Russia ,China, Hungary ,Paraguay , South America ,Cuba  Hawaii At one point i saw the Dome of the Rock and I saw Him soar over it  three times.

And back to the U.S.A . soaring thru the entire country and landed in Washington DC.On the roof of the White House. Where I last saw him perched on the flag pole.

Then…..

The word of the Lord spoke to me

“This olive branch is what I have placed in  the mouth of the prophets I place an OLIVE BRANCH IN THE PROPHETS MOUTH America Prophets .

Prophets of America, prophecy rightly in grace and save the world from destruction.

It will be the fire of the prophets who will change the course of a nation . A holy fire !”

“These nations that were circled are where the nations where many prophets are in hiding.

American prophets prophecy to them courage to speak and have grace “

“Judgment begins in the house of the Lord not on the land of men  I will begin to show great discernment in the House of My Children says the Lord!”

”I have not sent judgment I am sending A Prophetic Grace which will speak to MY church so they will love again.”

For through this  OLIVE BRANCH will love be extended by the hand of the King  Of Kings across the earth

GOD bless the Mouth of the Prophets

Jesus is the nectar of the taste of GOD

Psalm 34:7-9

7[The Angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him [who revere and worship Him with awe] and each of them He delivers.

8O taste and see that the Lord [our God] is good! Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) is the man who trusts and takes refuge in Him.

9O fear the Lord, you His saints [revere and worship Him]! For there is no want to those who truly revere and worship Him with godly fear.

I heard the words” Favor comes from the Lord of Grace and it  is open  and free at this very present time”.

Yes Favor to learn to grow, to experience, and, to be. YES TO BE!

Be what? To be what He as called you to be. An Ambassador of HIS Kingdom advancing rapidly throughout the earthy REALM .

The Lord showed me a very large diamond it was faceted on seven sides.

Inside this diamond I could see a hot flame the flame is the light of GODS love for this Church ever burning. The Flame is Jesus.

In every facet is a move of GOD presently working thru the earth today.

We know 7 is the number of GOD

Prophetic words concerning ”The Revival” in Lakeland Florida  The Miracles in Africa, The U.K. is coming alive . The Latin regions are about to come alive with the blaze of Mercy and the Asian Countries will begin to groan like never before  ALL these prophetic words are in the Realms of GOD .

Each realm or facet is in a different place or level or dimension.  Yet this diamond carries a brilliance that is so perfect I could barely look at it.

It reminded me of  the brilliance on Moses’ face when he descended from the mount.

Exodus 34:30
When Aaron and all the Israelites saw Moses, his face was radiant, and they were afraid to come near him

Could this be the “Glory Dust” we see on the faces of some people?

That is a realm of GOD!

Yes it the obvious. A realm many go and  peer into then stand back and feel an awe about that  . GOD says GO and look and be not afraid for it is ME I AM  in that!

I AM the Awe Says GOD.

Then another facet is  Lakeland Florida where the Great Outpouring is taking place. Many are going to peer into that GO says the Lord I AM in that  I AM.

I saw another facet this one is different. This one has children in foreign countries getting aid from the church GO says the Lord I AM in that! I AM!

I turned over the faceted diamond and saw each facet was fitly joined together to make a point and this point represented  Holy Spirit  pointing us to The central flame  which is Jesus Jesus is flared upward a to the top where the stone is smooth … That is GOD the  Father ..The Final Landing place of GLORY a place large enough be in  the Kingdom of GOD

The 4th facet is the word of GOD  a place where those who only will rely on the Word of GOD to get what they need …This is ME says the  Lord It is ME I AM in that do it. I AM.

The 5th facet is the ministry of Salvation to the lost..

Ephesians 4:11

11And His gifts were [varied; He Himself appointed and gave men to us] some to be apostles (special messengers), some prophets (inspired preachers and expounders), some evangelists (preachers of the Gospel, traveling missionaries), some pastors (shepherds of His flock) and teachers

TO DO THE WORK OF THE MINISTRY ….

DO THAT! “I AM IN THAT” SAYS THE LORD I AM!

The 6th facet was the Warfare facet here I saw many who fight the good fight of faith and GOD says “do that I AM in that I AM!”.

 1 Timothy 6:12
Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses

The 7th was Revelation. For it is in REVELATION we find the illumination of The Glory of GODS secrets to us.

This is where we should  all find ourselves uniting. For the Cause of Christ is the Cost of Christ.. It is also the most secret place on the diamond.. It’s a  place hidden. There in all its beauty.  But, it is the most pivotal it is closest the point.  Pointing to Jesus the Flame of LOVE

Love is everything ..

This diamond has fallen to the earth.  It has all the knowledge that the GLORY REALM is EVERYTHING GOD IS DOING.  This diamond carries all the BUZZ words we hear…

Zechariah 3:9
See, the stone I have set in front of Joshua! There are seven eyes on that one stone, and I will engrave an inscription on it,’ says the LORD Almighty, ‘and I will remove the sin of this land in a single day.

When the Glory Appears all the earths battles and gross darkness fades away!

Habakkuk 2:14
For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea

FILLED? Yes it will be filled with  the radical ones  and the conservative ones , Demonstration and Proclamation, coupled with meekness and humility and power. All blessed with HIS Grace to get the tasks done.

SO what the Buzz all about these days? It’s about HIM and that HE is everywhere doing all HE can at once to win this great Harvest set before us. And there is enough for everyone to get what they need …. SO… “Go” says the LORD “IAM IN THAT, I AM”!

The centraility of the cross of Jesus Christ

Here is the sad AND UNDENIABLE reality merely do ask any Mormon, LDS,  Morons, Others,  if they have actually read the Bible itself, read now the only true Bible, read and studied fully both  the New and Old Testament, and not the other books they claim God wrote, and they likely still will tell you they have not rather, studied, never mind applied the Bible, they have mainly heard someone else’s version of what is in the Bible and that is why so many people are lost, church people even now even confused about GOD, JESUS, THE HOLY SPIRIT AND WHAT THE REAL BIBLE ITSELF ACTUALLY SAYS NOW TOO.

“The cross of Christ is clearly central. In a great post on the nature of the gospel, C.J. Mahaney points out that while the gospel is the “good news of God’s saving activity in the person and work of Christ” (a definition he borrows from Jeff Purswell) it focuses more particularly on the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ. And more specifically still, he asserts, the gospel is summarized by the cross–”For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.” 1 Cor. 2:2. The resurrection is essential, for without it the cross’s message would be pointless, but the cross is where the gospel is seen most clearly.

The cross, then, proclaims the message that God became man to take upon Himself the punishment for our sins. Further, the perfect and righteous life of Christ–the God Man–enables God to give us the righteousness of Christ graciously and freely. This transaction occurs to those who believe on Jesus Christ and is wholly of grace and not in any way deserved by man. The cross shows the seriousness of sin–in that God would sacrifice His own Son because of the weight of our sins; and it also shows the magnitude of God’s mercy–that God would offer up His Son for us who in no way deserve mercy.

Further, the cross is seen as central in that it is the pinnacle of history, for it is the ultimate display of God’s glory–which is the ultimate purpose for God’s creation and all of its subsequent history. (I would encourage you to check out my friend Nathan Pitchford’s “Meditation for Good Friday” posted over at Reformation Theology Blog which deals with the centrality of the cross in all of history.)

But the cross is not only central to our faith, it is singular. Or rather it should be. What do I mean? Look at these verses:

“For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.” (1 Cor. 2:2)“May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.” (Gal. 6:14)

The cross–and the Christ of the cross–should be our single treasure, our single pursuit, our single love. Every boast should only be in the light of the cross. Our only boast should be the cross. John Piper put it like this:

“Only boast in the cross of Jesus Christ. This is a single idea. A single goal for life. A single passion. Only boast in the cross. The word “boast” can be translated “exult in” or “rejoice in”. Only exult in the cross of Christ. Only rejoice in the cross of Christ. Paul says, Let this be your single passion, your single boast and joy and exultation.” (from pg. 49 of Don’t Waste Your Life–available as an online book here)

All of life should be viewed through the view of the cross. And as Piper points out later in that book, we can only boast singularly in the cross when our lives are crucified by and on that cross (notice Gal. 6:14b). Everything we do should be as a result of or a reflection of the cross. C.J. Mahaney points this out well in his book The Cross Centered Life. Our struggle to be pure in this world and our struggles to provide for our family–every aspect of our lives is touched by and should be shaped by the cross.

Let us aim to appreciate the centrality and significance of the cross of Christ, and endeavor by God’s grace to make it our single affection, joy, and boast!

http://fundyreformed.wordpress.com/2006/04/16/cross-central-and-singular/

On the issue of THE CROSS and Mormons too ..

MORMON’S FALSE  OPPOSITION TO THE CROSS OF JESUS CHRIST AND WHAT IT STANDS FOR

May it never be that I should boast, except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ (Galations 6:14)

To the Christian the cross represents salvation and eternal life, because it was there on the cross that Christ atoned for our sins. It reminds us of the awful cost of our redemption, and of how much we owe the Lord Jesus Christ, who is our hero, our Saviour and our life.

However, Mormon women do not wear a crucifix as jewellery. And the LDS will not permit a cross to be displayed anywhere on their premises. Strangely, seeing they insist that they are Christians, they don’t display any of the other symbols of Christianity anywhere on their premises either. Instead, the inside of their temple is decorated with Masonic/pagan symbols, and the external masonry with pagan, occultic and satanic symbols. (As a matter of interest, the cross is never featured alongside that type of symbolism because they oppose one another.)

Because of the  unbiblical LDS teachings Mormons are taught that they have to earn the right to the forgiveness of their own personal sins through obedience to LDS laws and ordinances, good works and a virtuous life. So they can never be sure whether or not they will eventually make the grade. And this diminishes the work of Christ in their eyes. Consequently, they could never ever be beholden to Christ in the way that Christians are. Nor could they ever enjoy the same saving relationship with Christ as do Christians.

Almost None of the LDS doctrines are biblical. Nor do they bear any resemblance to Christianity. In fact their teaching on the atonement opposes the foundational doctrine of Christian salvation, as preached by the apostles in the primitive church. For this reason Mormons cannot even begin to imagine the joy, freedom from guilt, peace of mind and overwhelming gratitude that accompanies the Christian’s assurance that Christ Himself earned the forgiveness of “my sins” when He bore my penalty in my place, that day on the cross at Calvary. Nor do they realize the utter devotion to Christ that is part and parcel of the Christian life. To the Christian the cross represents salvation from sin. It reminds us of what Christ achieved on our behalf, as well as of the tremendous cost to Himself.

THE REASON FOR THE CROSS

Contrary to what the LDS maintains, the cross wasn’t merely a weapon that was used to execute Christ. It was on the cross at Calvary that Christ defeated Satan, sin, death and hell, and earned our salvation (c/f John 12:31-33). So in the mind of a Christian, the cross is symbolic of all these things.

Furthermore, Christ wasn’t merely “killed,” as the LDS puts it. He went to the cross of His own free will and voluntarily laid down his life for the specific purpose of earning our salvation from the consequences of sin. He could have turned from the cross at any time. But instead He deliberately set His face steadfastly towards Jerusalem, knowing full well what awaited Him there (Luke 9:52). Then He gave His life on that cross, in our place, as our substitute, to pay the penalty for our sins, as was fore-ordained and so graphically illustrated in the “pictures” provided by the Old Covenant sacrificial system.

Throughout the Old Testament God has used the picture language of rituals to explain hard-to-understand concepts that were to become part and parcel of the coming New Covenant of Grace. And salvation from sin through a substitutionary sacrifice was one of these important concepts. You will find a more in-depth explanation of this fascinating topic in the article, “Baptism, Salvation and the Use of Biblical Symbolism,” a lead to which is provided for your convenience, at the bottom of this page.)

Christ’s whole purpose in coming to earth had been to sacrifice His life on that cross at Calvary, so that we could be set free from the stranglehold of sin. And moreover it was the will of God, as foretold by His prophets in the Old Testament.

Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. No man take it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again ….. (John 10:17-18, KJV) (Italics inserted by writer.)

To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins. (Acts 10:43, KJV)

But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. ….. (Isaiah 53:5-6, KJV)

And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest? And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him. The place of the scripture which he read was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so opened he not his mouth: In his humiliation his judgment was taken away: and who shall declare his generation? for his life is taken from the earth. And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other man? Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus. (Acts 8:30-35, KJV)

For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures. (1 Corinthians 15:3, KJV)

And you, being [spiritually] dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; (Colossians 2:13-14, KJV) (The writer’s italics.)

… Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree (1 Peter 2:24, KJV)

One can’t help but wonder what the LDS  motivation is in teaching these false doctrines, as they will not be found anywhere in the pages of the Bible, no matter how long or hard you search. On the contrary, the above scriptures very clearly tells us that Christ atoned for our sins on the cross at Calvary.

Christ was fully aware that His suffering and death on the cross was the terrible price He would have to pay to cancel our debt of sin. But He voluntarily and selflessly chose to go through with it, for the likes of us:

Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out. And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me. This he said, signifying what death he should die. (John 12: 31-33, KJV).

(Christ said:) And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up; that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. (John 3:14-15, KJV)

From that time forth began Jesus to shrew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day. (Matthew 16:21, KJV)

And it came to pass, when the time was come that he should be received up, he steadfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem (Luke 9:51, KJV)

THE CHRISTIAN’S ATTITUDE TOWARDS THE CROSS

The church I attend has a large cross behind the pulpit, with a crown of thorns resting on it. Hanging down next to it is a banner that reads, “He died for me”. This is very effective in stimulating sincere and fervent worship. And every time I enter the church, I am deeply humbled at the sight of that cross. It reminds me that the best, the bravest and most selfless Person ever, suffered and died for me, in my place, because of my sins. And my heart fills with gratitude. But that is just why the cross is there. It is to remind us of who we are, who Christ is, what He did for us, and how much we owe Him.

Mayer Pearlman had this to say concerning the Christian’s attitude towards the cross of Christ: “The cross is the dynamo which generates in the human heart that response which constitutes the Christian life. ‘I’ll live for Him who died for me,’ states the dynamic of the cross. The Christian life is the soul’s reaction to the love of Christ. The cross of Christ inspires true repentance …..” (Knowing the Doctrines of the Bible, Part Two)

CHRIST’S SHED BLOOD COVERS THE SINS OF ALL WHO TRUST IN HIM

The LDS ignores what the Bible so clearly teaches, and insists that Christ’s atonement only covers the penalty for Adam’s sin and guarantees universal resurrection, thereby opening the way for us to earn the right to forgiveness of our own personal sins. Here are some scriptures that prove without a shadow of a doubt that Christ was crucified to pay the full price of all the sins of those who trust in Him for salvation:

And she shall bring forth a son, and thou salt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins. (Matthew 1:21, KJV)

For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. (Matthew. 26:28, KJV)

For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures. (1 Corinthians 15:3, KJV)

Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. (1 John 4:10, KJV)

… Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood (Revelation 1:5, KJV)

We see from the above that Christ’s death on the cross was vicarious, in that He died in our place, to pay the price of our sins. And that’s why the cross was always central to the gospel message preached by the primitive church:

But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumbling block, and unto the Greeks foolishness; But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God. (1 Corinthians 1:23-24, KJV)

For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. (1 Corinthians 1:18, KJV)

Christians wear a cross as a testimony to their allegiance to Christ and as a symbol of their faith in His atonement for their sin through His sacrificial, substitutionary sacrifice on their behalf on the cross. And churches that follow the teachings of the Bible always prominently display a large cross at their place of worship, as a constant reminder to the congregation of who they once were (condemned sinners) and of what Christ has done for them (set them free from the guilt and the penalty of their sins). It also effectively reminds us of the terrible price He paid for our forgiveness.

THE LDS GOSPEL IS NOT
THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST
THE GOSPEL THAT CHRIST PROCLAIMED

Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law. But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe. But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed. Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster. (Galations 3:21-25, KJV)

THE NEW COVENANT GOSPEL
In His wisdom and mercy God provided a way of salvation under a New Covenant of grace, that allowed for the fallenness of man. In, by and through Christ’s substitutionary atonement on the cross, He dealt with fallen man’s sin problem, and reconciled us to Himself.

God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. (2 Corinthians 5:19, KJV)

Although He had no sin, Christ paid the consequences for our sins, in our place, on the cross at Calvary. However, just as the Old Covenant sinner had to identify himself with the substitutionary sacrifice that was to die in his place to cover his sin, so we too need to identify ourselves with Christ by putting our faith in Him. And the moment we do that He becomes our our substitute sin bearer/saviour, and we are counted as being “in Him.”

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16, KJV)
In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace, (Ephesians 1:7-8, NASB)

And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross (Colossians 2:13-14, KJV). (Italics inserted by writer.)

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9, KJV)

The gospel (good news) of the primitive Church of Jesus Christ was that Christ had ratified a New Covenant of grace for the forgiveness of sins by His shed blood on the cross at Calvary, where He had defeated sin, Satan, death and hell on our behalf.
This was the most amazing, liberating news. All the Old Covenant had ever done was to prove that fallen man could not live up to God’s standards of righteousness. But now the promised Jewish Messiah had come down to earth and had vicariously died to save us both from the consequences of our sins and from the power that sin has over us. The burden of guilt and the resulting fear of death and judgment was to be no more!

After His resurrection Christ appeared to His disciples, instructing them to be witnesses of His death on the cross, and of His resurrection three days later. He also commanded them to proclaim in His name, repentance and the forgiveness of sins:

Then He opened their understanding that they might understand the Scriptures, and said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day. And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. And ye are witnesses of these things. (Luke 24:45-48, KJV). (Italics inserted by writer.)

And then just before His ascension, He confirmed this instruction:

“Ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” (Acts 1:8, KJV)

Notice that the gospel was to be all about Him and how He had earned the forgiveness of our sins. They were to be witnesses as to who Christ was and what He had done for and on behalf of fallen mankind through his death and resurrection. This is why the gospel of Christ’s church was, and still is, always centred on Christ and the cross. As Paul said:

We preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness; But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God. Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men. (1 Corinthians 1:23-24, KJV)

However, Satan doesn’t give up that easily. Although he knew that he had been defeated and was destined for judgment and hell, he wants to thwart God’s plan to redeem fallen man, and thereby take as many of us with him as he possibly can. With this aim in mind he sends out his messengers to proclaim counterfeit gospels with counterfeit saviours and a counterfeit salvation. Paul warned the church at Galatia concerning this danger:

But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. (Galations 1:8-9, KJV)

THE MORMON GOSPEL
As mentioned, the gospel preached by the apostles in the primitive church was centred on Christ, the New Covenant of grace that He had ratified, and the forgiveness of sins that He had earned on our behalf on the cross. In contrast to this, the LDS has banned the symbol of the cross on their premises and their gospel is centred on Joseph Smith, their church and their supposed authority. But this was precisely the sort of thing that Paul was warning us about. The Mormon gospel bears no resemblance to the gospel that Christ instructed the apostles to preach. It is “another gospel.”

Although the LDS calls their gospel, “the gospel of Jesus Christ,” it is in reality the gospel of Joseph Smith. The “good news” that their missionaries proclaim from door to door is that God allowed the church that Christ had died for, to go into total apostasy, and that He also permitted the Bible, the standard of truth that He’d given us for our spiritual guidance and protection, to become corrupted and unreliable. They then go on to claim that their prophet, Joseph Smith, has restored the “true” church in these latter days, and that salvation can now be attained only through themselves.

Christ is sidelined, his atonement is deprecated and Joseph Smith and his LDS church are given all the glory.

One of the things Mormons are taught is that Christ’s atonement only covers universal resurrection. So the sad fact is that although the Bible clearly tells us that Christ died for the sins of those who identify themselves with Him by faith, Mormons don’t go that route. Instead they have opted to follow the way of salvation proclaimed by Joseph Smith, i.e. that they have to earn the right to forgiveness of their sins through obedience to the laws and ordinances of the LDS organization, plus virtuous living. (See the articles on this site entitled “Mormon Salvation and its Deceptiveness.” and “Mormon Salvation Exposed to the Light of the Bible.”)

Considering that under the Old Covenant nobody was ever able to satisfy God’s demands for righteousness in this way, the Mormon gospel places its followers in a precarious position. Not only that, they have trampled underfoot the precious blood of Christ that He so selflessly shed to earn, once and for all, the forgiveness of all our sins:

In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace. (Ephesians 1:7, KJV)

Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. (Romans 5:9, KJV)

Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, (Revelation 1:5, KJV)

Heralding the Messiah’s imminent coming, John the Baptist exhorted the people, ” Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” (Matthew 3:2, KJV).

During His lifetime Christ also proclaimed the gospel of the Kingdom of Heaven, which He sometimes referred to as the Kingdom of God. We know that these two expressions mean the same thing because sometimes they are used interchangeably, such as in Matthew 19:23-24.

Christ’s gospel (good news) was that Satan’s reign on earth was all but over because He had come down from heaven not only to atone for our sins but also to defeat Satan, God’s enemy and ours too; thereby breaking his hold on mankind and restoring the rule of God, or the Kingdom of God, on earth.

When we read the book of Acts, we notice that the disciples explained the gospel of Christ to the Jews by showing them via the scriptures, how the Old Covenant had been fulfilled in Christ. And so in order to understand the gospel properly, we will need to take a very quick look at both the Old and the New Covenants.

THE OLD COVENANT

Under the Old Covenant, when the Israelites had sinned, God didn’t tell them that they would have to earn the right to forgiveness (as does the LDS church). He knew fallen man was incapable of ever doing such a thing. So instead, He instituted the substitutionary sacrifice. The sinner had to take an unblemished animal to the altar and place his hand upon its head to indicate that it would represent him, and would die in his place, to cover his sin (Leviticus 1:4, 4:29,33). This was a picture of the coming, promised Jewish Messiah who would sacrifice His life to pay the full penalty for the sins of those who had indicated by faith, that He was their substitute sin bearer.

In his epistle to the church at Galatia, Paul explains that the Old Covenant was used by God to convince fallen man that he is, of himself, incapable of living according to God’s standards of righteousness. The constant plume of smoke arising from the sacrificial altar bore witness of this fact. Although they were God’s chosen people, who had enjoyed His protection and were in possession of His Law, and had every intention of fulfilling it; they nevertheless found themselves continuously slipping up in word, thought and deed. God’s Laws and Ordinances didn’t have the power to save anyone. All they did was reveal the holiness of God on the one hand, and the innate sinfulness of fallen man on the other.

The LDS Gospel is Not the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
